The automobile industry is set to undergo a structural transformation in the progress toward next-generation industries that involve autonomous vehicles and connected cars. Thus, supply chain management has become increasingly important for corporate competitiveness. This study aims to identify opportunities for improving supply chain performance by quantifying the impact of suppliers on the supply chain. An analysis was conducted in two phases. First, the efficiency of 139 partners that supply automobile components to the Hyundai Motor Company was measured using the Charnes–Cooper–Rhodes model, while the efficiency of Hyundai Motor Company’s 540 supply chains comprising partners, subsidiaries, and parent companies was measured using the network epsilon-based measure model. Second, the relationship between the partner efficiency and the supply chain efficiency was analyzed using the Mann–Whitney U test and the Tobit regression model. The results showed that efficient operation of partners hampers the efficiency of the total supply chain. Thus, there may be several partners that are not committed to quality improvement, while the Hyundai Motor Company seeks to promote quality management through win–win cooperation with partners. Consequently, automakers must review their partner management system, including their performance measurement and incentive systems.

E-management innovation system in recent years, the supply chain management system has been continuously upgrading and innovating, the main purpose is to improve the efficiency of its supply chain and reduce costs. This study investigates the effect of e-management system on supply chain efficiency. We use three assumptions to design, information technology innovation, information environment, relationship risk to do in-depth discussion on whether the efficiency of the supply chain will be affected. In this study, the Likert seven-point scale was used to design the survey method. In this study, N=331 questionnaires were issued, and 195 questionnaires were finally available, which met the minimum sample number. The main object of this study is to investigate the senior executives in zhejiang electronics industry. This result proves that e-management innovation system can improve the efficiency of its supply chain. We observed and verified the correlation results through three dependent variables and one fruit variable.

This work seeks to explore and demonstrate the use of Agent Based Simulations (ABS) in modelling and simulating supply chains. Such methodology was applied to develop a model to evaluate the impact of current tax policies in soy supply chain in Brazil. The model brought interesting insights on how the country’s current tax structure induces logistics and tributary trade-offs, therefore generating a suboptimal grain distribution. This is accomplished by going through the conception and implementation of an Agent Based Model. First there is the definition and delimitation of the main agents acting upon soy’s supply chain, such as producers, trader and consumers. Those agents then have their behaviors studied and translated into programable patterns. Finally, the model considers the environmental interactions with the mentioned players, including the effects of infrastructure capacities, transportation costs, storage costs and tax legislation. After quantitative and behavioral validation, the simulation is then able to mimic the actual allocation of corn, soy and soymeal productions in their respective supply chains. This would allow inferring how the system could work in different tax conditions, thus quantifying the tributary impact in terms of congestions, idle infrastructure and delays. The analysis of such results points out that a path dependant tax system may induce agents to opt for inefficient logistic solutions, if such alternatives are cheaper when taking taxes into account. From those simulations it is possible to conclude that there are opportunities for supply chain efficiency gains in the design of a new tax policy.

ABSTRACT:Supply chain security is crucial to avoid risks such as delays in handling customs and theft. And the government is currently issuing a security certification program to reduce these risks. But the impact of this security certification on supply chain efficiency is not always understood. This study proposes to look at the outcomes of certification of security standards on supply chain efficiency. This research used the Partial Least Square method to assess the influence of security on efficiency. The results of this study conclude that the certification of security standards affects the efficiency of the supply chain. Therefore, it is hoped that more companies will join this security certification program.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to explore the impact of peer-to-peer (P2P) supply chain financing on companies' innovation efficiency.Design/methodology/approachThis study takes the core companies that invest in the P2P platform as the research background and uses data for Chinese companies and the systematic Generalised Method of Moments (the systematic GMM) to explore the relationship between the improvement of supply chain efficiency, research and development (R&D) investment, and innovation efficiency.FindingsThis study indicates that core enterprise investment in P2P can cause a significant improvement in the efficiency of the supply chain and that this improvement can significantly motivate enterprises to increase R&D investment. Although the improvement of supply chain efficiency has no significant effect on improving companies' innovation efficiency, it can have a positive impact on innovation efficiency through the regulating role of R&D investment.Research limitations/implicationsThis research shows several limitations such as single industry and few companies involved, but it analyses the impact of P2P supply chain financing on R&D investment, and companies' innovation efficiency and broadens the research field of P2P supply chain financing.Practical implicationsThis article provides a theoretical direction for listed companies to invest in P2P platforms and achieve supply chain management. The research on the regulating role of this article provides a new way of thinking for the study of enterprise innovation.Originality/valueThis paper analyses the impact of the core enterprise investment in P2P on R&D investment and its subsequent impact on the companies' innovation efficiency, thus broadening the research field of P2P supply chain financing.

The university is considered one of the engines of growth in a local economy or its market area, since its direct contributions consist of 1) employment of faculty and staff, 2) services to students, and supply chain links vendors, all of which define the University’s Market area. Indirect contributions consist of those agents associated with the university in terms of community and civic events. Each of these activities represent economic benefits to their host communities and can be classified as the economic impact a university has on its local economy and whose spatial market area includes each of the above agents. In addition are the critical links to the University, which can be considered part of its Demand and Supply chain. This paper contributes to the field of Public/Private Impact Analysis, which is used to substantiate the social and economic benefits of cooperating for economic resources. We use Census data on Output of Goods and Services, Labor Income on Salaries, Wages and Benefits, Indirect State and Local Taxes, Property Tax Revenue, Population, and Inter-Industry to measure economic impact (Implan, 2016).
