ABSTRACTThis paper focuses on ways that adult children and children-in-law mediate contact between grandmothers and grandchildren, following marriage breakdown and remarriage in the middle generation. A qualitative analysis of face-to-face contact between 110 grandmother-grandchild pairs was conducted. Findings showed that adult children have a more direct influence on visiting, by arranging or obstructing visits between grandmothers and grandchildren. The influence of first or second children-in-law was found to be more indirect. By preventing an estranged spouse from seeing his or her child, custodial children-in-law could also be preventing a grandmother's access to her grandchild, if she depended on her noncustodial child to bring the grandchild to see her when he or she exercised visiting rights. Children-in-law could also act as intermediaries through their absence as well as through their presence. These findings, as well as ways that grandparents can negotiate relationships with adult children and children-in-law, are discussed. Especially noted is the value of monitoring communication exchanges, maintaining friendly relationships with children-in-law and step-grandchildren, and acting as resources to the family.

It is highly perceived that most of the stories of Urdu televise dramas in Pakistan are revolving around the problems of wedded couple. It is point of discussion that plots of the contemporary Pakistani Urdu televise dramas is depicting more extramarital relations. Through narrative structure analysis, the current study revealed that drama serials start with a family and then a quarrel arises between married couple. At that point, a protagonist enters in the scene which also becomes as catalyst in making separation between the married spouses. The bad and harsh attitude of the husband appears to be the enough reason to bend toward extramarital relation. Divorce seems to be the only solution in case of incompatible relations between the spouses. Consequently, the divorced lady marries with her protagonist and starts living a happy life with her second husband. It is apparent that these dramas are promoting extramarital relations in positive ways. The current bombardment of such issues by electronic media seems to be trying to legitimize the illegitimate relation. The analyses depict that televise Urdu dramas of Pakistan are violating the family values and promoting the extramarital relations in positive ways.

The purpose of this study was to identify and examine how sport parents engage in autonomy-supportive parenting in the family home setting. A total of 44 parents and children from 19 families were initially interviewed. Data from these families were profiled to identify seven families that adopted a highly autonomy-supportive parenting style. The seven families’ data were then examined using a theoretically focused qualitative analysis using the three dimensions of autonomy-supportive parenting. Sport parents engaged in autonomy support (vs. control) through flexible conversations and supporting decision making. The themes of boundary setting and establishing expectations based on values were indicative of structure. The authors found high levels of involvement across contexts. These findings depict the nature and types of social interactions in the family home that created an autonomy-supportive emotional climate, which often extended to sport, providing a foundation for future theoretical development and applied research in sport.

(analytical): This study focuses on an aspect of regional research initiated in 2015 promoted by Argentinian government organizations that I participated in as a Field Assistant. The objective was to raise awareness of and explain how a child can exercise their right to participate in legal matters, mainly in the Family Court. The areas covered by this area of research included: a) the right to be heard, and b) the right to have a lawyer. The study focused on children requiring legal representation in the province of Tucumán during the 2016/2017 period. The methodology used was descriptive and exploratory. A quantitative survey and qualitative analysis of the data was conducted. The results show that legal requirements are partially met and that access to justice for children and adolescents is a model to be followed by all operators of the legal system.

Children’s graphic works provide a lot of information about the family. A strong bond between children and their mother and father, as people providing the sense of security, is closely related to art works concerning family made by the children. The drawings presented family became the subject of this study. Collected research material was the subject of quantitative and qualitative analysis. The analyses of the drawings allowed to notice that the way of perceiving family through the prism of relations experienced by the child (e.g. reversing proportions) was additional information about the members of the family. A variety of means of expressions used by children and elements that accompanied the figures are not only evidences of knowledge on particular topic, but they also express feelings, emotions or even expectations.
