Contact dermatitis is a type of skin eruption. It is caused by chemical or physical substance comes in contact with skin that causes allergic reaction. Contact dermatitis can be caused by different compound in home or work.  It is chronic or continuous, non-contagious in nature. Here, a18 year’s old girl presented with a popular eruption over flexor aspect of wrist joint and over both ear lobes over last 3 to 4 years. It was a diagnosed case of contact dermatitis. She was successfully treated by individualized Homoeopathic treatment with single medicine Calcarea Carb over 4 to 5 months. She initially did not show stable improvement on homoeopathic medicine selected on the basis of symptoms. On changing the medicine considering mental symptoms and physical general, she gradually showed good improvement and reached remission by 3 months. Remission maintained without any recurrence over the next 2 years. It shows positive role of Homoeopathic treatment in contact dermatitis in a young woman. Consumption of fish has increased around the globe due to its high nutritional value and this has led to an increase in incidence of allergic reactions to fish. Reactions to fish are not only mediated by the immune system causing allergies but are often caused by proteins, metals, various toxins and parasites. Allergic reactions to fish can range from being mild and self-limiting to serious and life threatening. We report a case of an adult with suspected allergic reaction to Boal fish (Wallago Attu) who developed contact dermatitis during marinating process. Application of steroids and administration of oral antihistaminic led to a quick recovery.

Background:  Propolis or bee-glue is used as adjuvant in the therapy because of its antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, anesthetic and antibacterial properties. Propolis is found in a number of products such as cosmetics, shampoos, toothpastes, lip balms, creams and ointments. In dermatology propolis has been used for wound healing, treatment of ulcers and eczema, and regeneration of the skin. The sensitizing properties of propolis have been reported in the literature.Aim: The aim of this study was to present a case of allergic contact dermatitis after self-treatment with propolis. Methods: We report a case of 46 years old man who presented severe vesiculo-bullous elements on the leg after the treatment with bee-glue for the eczematous elements. Results: The diagnosis of allergic contact dermatitis to propolis was confirmed due to patch tests. Conclusions: Here we show that allergic contact dermatitis from propolis should be taken in consideration if an allergic reaction is evident. Dermatologists and general physicians should be aware of propolis as an important allergen that can cause Allergic Contact Dermatitis. The therapeutic use of propolis should be performed under medical advisory.

Abstract Nowadays, allergic reactions in children are seen in dermatological practice on a daily basis. The most common reasons for allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) are piercings, temporary tattoos, a wide range of cosmetic products, substances related to the practice of a variety of hobbies and sports, etc. Slime is a new hobby and has become an obsession for some kids. There are many homemade slime recipes. The most common recipe for slime is glue, borax and food coloring for all kinds of rainbow effects. We present a case of an 11-year-old Caucasian girl with hand contact dermatitis caused by an allergic reaction to Slime.

Protein contact dermatitis is a skin condition not well known and underdiagnosed by dermatologists, resulting from an IgE-mediated allergic reaction. Clinically it presents as a chronic hand and/or forearms eczema of occupational origin, especially in professionals who work as food handlers. Epicutaneous tests are negative, and to diagnose this condition it is necessary to perform immediate-type allergy tests. The most sensitive and practical is the prick-by-prick test with food that the patient refers to cause intense itching after immediate skin contact. Treatment is symptomatic, and it is mandatory to avoid the responsible allergen, wearing plastic gloves and even sometimes leaving the workplace for symptom resolution.

Background: A 15-year-old Hispanic adolescent with multiple amateur India ink tattoos developed a recurrent, eczematous pruritic eruption several weeks after each treatment with the Q-switched ruby laser. Objective: To determine if the patient was having an allergic reaction to tattoo dye pigment or an allergic contact dermatitis. Methods: Open- and closed-patch testing was performed to Polysporin® ointment, which revealed a 2+ vesicular reaction. Conclusion: Delayed-type hypersensitivity responses to contact allergens can very closely mimic the less common allergic reactions to dye pigment from tattoos. Open- and closed-patch testing to topical medications should be performed on any patient suspected of having an allergic reaction to tattoo dye pigment.
