ABSTRACTThe effect of arc plasma jet treatment (APJT) of silicon surface used for pre-gate oxidation cleaning on the electrophysical parameters of MOS structures (Si/SiO2/Si*/Al) has been studied- We show that APJT etching cleaning considerably improves the constant current charge to breakdown of MOS structures in comparison with conventional wet chemical cleaning. We have analyzed the effect of plasma cleaning conditions on the quality of gate oxide and SiO2/Si interface.

Abstract An electrochemical model based capacity fade estimation method for a Li-Ion battery is investigated in this paper. An empirical capacity fade model for estimating the state of health of a LiFePO4 electric vehicle battery was integrated with electrochemical battery model in Matlab/Simulink platform. This combined model was then validated against experimental data reported in the literature for constant current charge / discharge cycling. An HPPC current profile was then applied to the validated electrochemical-empirical battery prognosis model which reflected a real-time operating condition for charge and discharge current fluctuations in an electric vehicle battery. The combined model was simulated under the two different HPPC current inputs for three different cycle times. Additionally temperature was taken in account in estimating the cycle aging under the applied current profile to assess the present capacity remaining in the battery. The simulation results provided the state of health (SOH) of the battery for these cycling times which were comparable to the published experimental SOH values for constant current charge/discharge profiles. Thus this model can potentially be used to predict the capacity fade status of an electric vehicle battery.

Partial oxygen in LiNi0.7Co0.3O2 was replaced by chlorine to form LiNi0.7Co0.3O1.9Cl0.1. Phase structure of LiNi0.7Co0.3O1.9Cl0.1 was identified as a pure hexagonal lattice of α-NaFeO2 type by X-ray diffraction. Discharge capacity of LiNi0.7Co0.3O1.9Cl0.1 was 202 mAh/g in initial cycle at 15 mA/g current density in 2.5- 4.3 V potential window. The constant current charge/discharge experiments and cyclic voltammograms showed that chlorine addition was effective to improve reversible capacity and cycle stability of LiNi0.7Co0.3O2.

Mn/Pb composite oxides were prepared by solid-state reaction by KMnO4 with manganese acetate and lead acetate at low temperature. The products were characterized by XRD and TEM. The results show that the composite oxides are nano-size and amorphous structure. Electrochemical characterizations were performed by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and constant current charge-discharge in a three-electrode system. The potential windows of Mn/Pb composite oxides electrode are increased. With increasing the ratio of Pb, the specific capacitance goes through a maximum at 20% mol Pb. The specific capacitance of pure MnO2 is 158 F/g and is improved to 180 F/g for the Mn0.8Pb0.2Ox composite oxide by constant current discharge.

Superscript text Commercial activated carbon was modified by surface treatment using nitric acid, The modified carbons were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).The resultant carbon electrode-based electric double-layer capacitors (EDLCs)were assembled with 1 mol/L (NH4)2SO4 as the electrolyte. The influence of introduced functional groups, such as hydroxyl and carbonyl, on the performance of EDLCs was studied by Constant current charge-discharge. These functional groups significantly improved the wettability of AC. As a result, the specific capacitance of the carbon modified with 40wt.%HNO3 achieved a specific capacitance of 223.45 F/g at a current density of 5mA/cm2, which is 100.9% higher than that of original AC.

NiFe2O4 powders were synthesized by a facile hydrothermal method at 180°C followed by a thermal treatment at 300°C. The phase composition and morphology were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results showed that the NiFe2O4 powders were well-crystallized, and they possessed a particle size in the range of 50-100 nm. The electrochemical property was characterized via cyclic voltammetry (CV) and constant current charge-discharge method. Encouragingly, the NiFe2O4 powders had an excellent electrochemical property, whose specific capacitance reached 266.84 F/g at the electric current density of 1 A/g due to the small particle size. Compared with other Fe-based metal compound oxides, NiFe2O4 has a better electrochemical performance, which can be widely used in the supercapacitor electrode materials.

In this paper, LiOH·H2O and Li2CO3, which were widely used in industry and (Mn0.533Co0.233Ni0.233) (OH)2prepared by ourselves selected as starting materials, series materials of lithium-rich layered material Li [Li0.2Mn0.44Ni0.18Co0.18]O2were obtained by a molten salt method. Their structures and properties of the materials were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) and constant current charge/discharge methods. The effects of different LiOH and Li2CO3molar ratios on the Li [Li0.2Mn0.44Ni0.18Co0.18]O2structures and properties were characterized. The results of the experiments indicate that The structures of the material such as crystal structure, the specific area, particle size distribution, tap densities were controlled by adjusting the proportion of the two lithium sources. Forthermore , when the molar ratio of LiOH and Li2CO3was 3:7, the maximum discharge capacity (214.77 mAhg-1) of the cathode was obtained.
