Wind on Minnesota’s southwestern prairie supplies electricity to Minneapolis and St. Paul. At the time this 143-wind turbine, 107 MW project was brought on line in 1998, it was the largest in the U.S. It was superceded by a project in Iowa that began operating in June of 1999. The turbine blades are 50 meters in diameter and mounted on towers 50 meters high. Each 750 kW turbine generates enough electricity for 260 homes. The 143 turbines are expected to produce about 300 GWhr of electricity per year. Minnesota has led the nation in new wind power installations over the past decade, followed closely by Iowa. California still has the largest installed capacity of any state due to the installation of numerous projects in the early 1980s.

This paper presents a statistical steady-state stability analysis for transmission system planning studies in order to identify operational issues inherent in the integration of offshore wind power plants. It includes normal and contingency operation. This study considers the integration of a 1000-MW offshore wind power plant into the FirstEnergy/PJM service territory in the U.S. Great Lakes region as a case study and uses a realistic computer model of the U.S. Eastern Interconnection, a 63,000-bus test system. The results show the utility of this statistical analysis tool and its effectiveness in identification of the operational impacts as a result of the integration of offshore wind power plant.

A prototype of a wind power plant had been created using a ventilator  as a generator spiner. This power plant utilizes wind speed as its propulsion. Electricity generated in the DC voltage form between 0 volts up to 7.46 volts. The MT3608 module is used to stabilize and raise the voltage installed in the input and output of the charging circuit. For instrument testing, the wind speed on 0 m/s up to 6 m/s interval used. Maximum output of this tool with a wind speed of 6 m/s is 7.46 volts.
