Corruption is always a big problem exist in every country. Today, the corruption is not only in the public sector but also in the private sector. Each State has used many ways to prevent and fight this crime. The 4th Industrial Revolution (4IE) brings many innovative solutions for modern life. Especially, e-Government is a great achievement of the 4IE. Base on the e-Government, the policies and regulations of States are transparent. It plays an important role to prevent and fight corruption more effectively. In this paper, the author will analyze the case study of Vietnam on fighting corruption base on the information technology and the outcome of applying e-Government on preventing and fighting corruption in both public sector and private sector. From this result of research, the author will recommend some solutions to improve the corruption status in Vietnam on the next period.

Organizations have diverse options to improve their performance. With the advances in ICT, several organizations attempt a technology-based solution by digitizing and automation. Indeed, to begin with, it is appropriate, but there are societal challenges. The theories available in the literature explain the reasons for certain societal challenges and actions, but there is also a constant expansion of the theories. This paper adds to the expansion by considering ICT innovations such as digitalization. The social, political, cultural, and economic entities in which organizations operate influence and get influenced by organizational responses. There are connections between organizations and entities; we can refer to these as embeddedness. The purpose of this paper is in identifying a framework and the types of embeddedness. The phenomenon, organizational embeddedness, requires observing it in its setting and is performed using a case study methodology. E-Governance interacts with various entities and provides diverse analytic and heuristic views; hence the author uses E-Governance cases from India. The developed framework assists organizations in providing inputs towards improving their internal complements. In doing so, organizations can not only better respond to societal challenges but also enable other entities in the environment to coevolve.

Information and communications technologies are emerging as important drivers of reform in the public sector. This chapter explores both enabling and constraining aspects of the role that ICTs can play in transforming the development and delivery of public policy. Two issues are explored: the reduction in flexibility of decision making that frequently accompanies ICT-based initiatives, and the critical role of knowledge embedded in networks of stakeholders in policy development and delivery. A case study, which traces the knowledge embedded in networks of relationships of actors involved in developing and implementing operational policy in an Australian public sector agency, is presented to illustrate the unintended constraints on knowledge activities. A framework for analyzing socio-technical networks involved in integrating ICTs into the cycle of public policy is presented.

Big Data and artificial intelligence will have a profound transformational impact on governments around the world. Thus, it is important for scholars to provide a useful analysis on the topic to public managers and policymakers. This study offers an in-depth review of the Policy and Administration literature on the role of Big Data and advanced analytics in the public sector. It provides an overview of the key themes in the research field, namely the application and benefits of Big Data throughout the policy process, and challenges to its adoption and the resulting implications for the public sector. It is argued that research on the subject is still nascent and more should be done to ensure that the theory adds real value to practitioners. A critical assessment of the strengths and limitations of the existing literature is developed, and a future research agenda to address these gaps and enrich our understanding of the topic is proposed.

The emergence of big data has caused various challenges to data management lifecycle including storage, processing, sharing, and applications. During the same time frame, the fast development in cloud computing provides increased efficiency in computing support that address these challenges. However, there are issues in big data and cloud computing management which include security concerns, data fragmented, and distrust in using clouds that could become the roadblock to e-government services success. Although ensuring data management has been the responsibility of providers in the public sector, this issue seems to be unavoidable. In such circumstances, initiatives from the public sector agencies are crucial to ensure data is effectively managed. This research in progress aims to investigate how the public sector agencies in Terengganu manage data to improve the e-government performance. The research uses the interpretive research paradigm and adopts the qualitative research methodology using a case study design. A single case of a public sector which utilizes big data and cloud computing within the e-government platform is selected as the case for this research. The findings of this research are expected to be used in developing a framework of big data and cloud computing management which will assist in providing reliable and accurate information to citizens within the e-government environment.

AbstractOrganisations are important gatekeepers in the labour market inclusion of immigrants and their children. Research has regularly documented ethnic discrimination in hiring decisions. Aiming to further our understanding of the role of organisations in influencing the professional trajectories of individuals of immigrant origin, this paper investigates the recruitment practices of public administrations. Drawing on approaches from organisational sociology and a qualitative case study of public administrations in the German state of Berlin, the article identifies three crucial elements of organisational decision-making affecting the recruitment of staff of immigrant origin: decisions regarding advertisement strategies, formal criteria, and individual candidates. Further, the article shows the underlying decision-making rationalities and the role of organisational contexts and ethnic stereotypes for recruitment-related decisions.
