The objective of this research is to develop a web-based-online-stock-simulation application applying Virtual Private Network (VPN) technology. The web-based application is prefered for user’s convenience and comfort since it does not require any software to be installed on the client side and is also accessable anywhere and anytime with internet connection availability. The application is developed by means of analysis and design towards the technology needed to establish the connectivity between servers through internet as well as database analysis and design. The data are real time derived from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and forwarded through an official data vendor PT XYZ. Data from the IDX will be captured by a middleware application at PT XYZ and forwarded to www.kontan.co.id. This application has been tested and succesfully run by around 700 users. This tool is expected to provide a kind of education and motivation to beginner-level investors who want to be engaged with the stock-trading activities.

Emporia State University recently implemented a web-based presentation capture application for use in both a graduate and undergraduate counselor education program. Presentation capture, sometimes referred to as course capture or lecture capture, is most often used in traditional classrooms to record lectures by faculty for playback and review by students following class. However, in this educational scenario the students record sessions with assigned clients from the Emporia, Kansas community that are later played back by the faculty for review and evaluation – most often in a classroom environment where all the students gather to review and discuss the client recordings. The faculty critique the interview techniques, interview questions, and client engagement with the students as part of their training, research, and coursework. One of the unique needs of this approach is that the recordings conform to Health Insurance Privacy and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements and thus can only be replayed outside the counseling facility using an encrypted Virtual Private Network (VPN) access. Although this is a very small academic program at a modest-sized university, an empirical research study was conducted to gauge the effectiveness of capturing client sessions using a presentation capture application. Results from that study indicate that both students and faculty found the software and hardware to be very easy to use, and believed it significantly enhanced the quality of the counseling program.

Pertumbuhan, perkembangan, dan kebutuhan akan informasi terus-menerus menjadi sebuah kebutuhan primer bagi setiap masyarakat umum, organisasi, perusahaan, dan lembaga pendidikan. Salah satu contoh lembaga pendidikan yang memiliki kebutuhan akan informasi yaitu Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya (Polsri), dimana dosen dan mahasiswa memerlukan koneksi melalui sebuah media kabel ataupun nirkabel untuk terhubung ke jaringan internet (global) maupun jaringan intranet (lokal). Sistem Akademik dan Learning Management System (LMS) adalah salah satu jaringan lokal Polsri yang paling sering diakses untuk memenuhi kegiatan akademik. Dosen ataupun mahasiswa sebagai client akan terus dapat mengakses jaringan lokal tersebut selama jalur komunikasi atau media transmisi antar router client dan router server tetap terhubung. Apabila jalur komunikasi utama antar router client dan router server terputus oleh faktor tertentu, maka client tidak dapat mengakses jaringan lokal sehingga proses kegiatan akademik menjadi terhambat. Untuk menghindari kejadian tersebut, maka diperlukan sebuah jalur komunikasi cadangan (backup link) dan suatu penerapan teknik failover pada sisi router client. Teknik failover adalah teknik yang memiliki kemampuan untuk mengalihkan jalur komunikasi utama ke jalur komunikasi cadangan sehingga komunikasi dapat terus berjalan meskipun jalur komunikasi utama terputus. Jalur komunikasi cadangan pada implementasi ini didukung oleh teknologi telepon seluler generasi keempat atau teknologi yang lebih dikenal dengan istilah 4G LTE (Fourth Generation Long Term Evolution). Selain itu, terdapat penerapan Virtual Private Network (VPN) tipe Layer Two Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) pada jalur komunikasi cadangan untuk menjaga keamanan komunikasi. Protokol routing yang akan digunakan untuk melakukan proses pertukaran informasi routing pada implementasi ini adalah Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).

During the current trends in IT and Software industry- DevOps, the project management system is mainly responsible to keep track of various projects that are undertaken by the organization and developed with in same premises or geographically locations. The main problem is to develop a system which can handle various task of project management by providing security to project related work while transferring and to provide a communication system for discussion of problems. So this system will run on the virtual private network of organization also secured socket layer is used instead simple hypertext transfer protocol. In project management system the client wants a system that can be used to check the progress that the projects had made which it had distributed among different organization for development. In this arena a central repository (database) should be created which will be maintained by project developing origination on day-to-day basis i.e. the organization must have to update the database on the basis of progress made by them on the given module. The files will be uploaded by assigned user on any particular project about his daily work. There will be various powers to the user which will be provided according to role of a person in particular project. In this system only the status will be changed and nothing will be deleted until any particular project will be completed. Menu of different project will be shown also according to the role. Each user will be provided unique id. for a particular project however user can perform different role simultaneously.

The presence of vast communication and information nowadays necessitates the need for a system to readily access and transfer data. The study aimed to develop records archiving and document repository to overcome the barrier of server client method of deploying the documents from one place to another and easier data access to its stakeholders. The Sorsogon State College in the Philippines has four campuses which are located strategically in four municipalities of Sorsogon province. Their distance from each other sometimes causes a problem particularly along communication and real time updates. General User Interface (GUI) of the application has been built on top of all web-enabled computers and even to the mobile devices, so it requires only installed web browsers to render the GUI onto their devices regardless of its platform and specifications. The installation of web-based archiving and repository on its main campus enables satellite campuses to connect to the college private server in a cost-effective manner through virtual private network that connects on top of the Internet service provider. This study overcomes the vulnerability of security by means of allowing user credentials to login at the private server using a 1024 bit Rivest-Shamir-Adleman (RSA) private/public key exchange and 256-bit Advance Encryption System (AES) encryption through its virtual private network. In internet, an ad is something that able to be avoided when opening a web page. At this time many internet based businesses rely on advertising for their income. However, users are dissatisfied with the presence of ads on websites they visit, since the size of the ad data is often proportional to the actual content ads. This impacts not only on loading web pages and may lead to a file that may potentially be a carrier of the virus and may damage the operating system of the visitor. A system that can overcome the annoying ads will be needed by the user for the convenience of users in using the internet media. To overcome this will be built a system using the pi-hole and Ubuntu operating system
