Issues related to integrity in databases and distributed databases have been introduced in previous chapters. Therefore, the integrity problem in databases and how it can be managed in several data models (relational, active, temporal, geographical, and object-relational databases) are well known to the reader. The focus of this chapter is on introducing a new paradigm: The Web as the database, and its implications regarding integrity, i.e., the progressive adaptation of database techniques to Web usage. We consider that this will be done in a quite similar way to the evolution from integrated file management systems to database management systems.

The problem of local databases autonomy in distributed information systems is widely known and has been solved for a long time by specialists, but there is still no unambiguous and universally recog-nized approach to solving this problem. The process of working with distributed databases when creat-ing a geographic information system for decision support is not an exception, where the inviolability of the structure and completeness of local databases should remain the primary criterion for the sys-tem's operation. The purpose of the study is to increase the autonomy of local databases in geoinfor-mation decision support systems based on the use of preprocessing processing of heterogeneous data. This article proposes approaches and specific solutions for the physical and logical representation of the geoinformation system structure by means of the implementation of the preprocessing mechanism, which will allow you to combine and transform data even before they are displayed in the application. Thus, a person making a decision, when working in a geoinformational decision support system, will have full access to up-to-date information with the ability to record the results obtained by saving a virtual database created at his request.

Within the web, it is possible to find an important portion of the knowledge of humankind in terms of studies and development. Preserving versions of this web content is required for future reference. File systems or databases are two main alternatives for preserving historical web content. Since databases offer a convenient way to organize and query data with respect to the file systems, they may be preferred for preserving historical web content. Thus, the goal of this chapter is to propose techniques in order to store collections of web files on a database management system. Five techniques were developed and experimentally compared in terms of performance and space. Experimental results show that the proposed techniques based on the change detection require a smaller amount of space, they are more efficient in terms of load on the database, and they have lower performance in terms of processing web file to store.

It is designed to study and create information systems and applications using distributed databases and file systems. To create information systems based on distributed databases, the server part of the MEAN software stack is used, which includes the NoSQL database type MongoDB, the Node platform and the Express framework. The Robo 3T shell for MongoDB allows you to make more visual work with collections. They also addressed the foundations of administration and replication in a DBMS MongoDB. Mongoose is used as a database object modeling tool.js. In order to create frontend parts of websites and web applications, we study the use of free software Bootstrap, HTML5 Boilerplate, Initializr. A detailed process of developing and testing the REST API-application based on the MVC model is presented. As a result, students will be able to create a complete distributed information system based on modern nosql-type DBMS. Distributed data stores (large amounts of unstructured information) are also used to build applications using the example of Hadoop Apache with the Spark and Scala tools. For the purpose of convenience of the tutorial program codes hosted in the cloud publishing. Designed for students, bachelors, masters, postgraduates and specialists in the design of distributed information systems based on modern database NoSQL-type, creating mobile and Internet applications. The manual is also useful for people engaged in self-education

AbstractAn object-oriented medical database management system is presented for a typical cardiologic center, facilitating epidemiological trials. Object-oriented analysis and design were used for the system design, offering advantages for the integrity and extendibility of medical information systems. The system was developed using object-oriented design and programming methodology, the C++ language and the Borland Paradox Relational Data Base Management System on an MS-Windows NT environment. Particular attention was paid to system compatibility, portability, the ease of use, and the suitable design of the patient record so as to support the decisions of medical personnel in cardiovascular centers. The system was designed to accept complex, heterogeneous, distributed data in various formats and from different kinds of examinations such as Holter, Doppler and electrocardiography.
