This paper discusses about a bandwidth enhancement of Vivaldi antenna loaded using triangular shaped. Firstly, a normal Vivaldi antenna using FR-4 substrate had been designed. Then, the triangular shaped slots had been added at the upper layer of the antenna. It shows the better improvement in return loss, gain, directivity and bandwidth operated at frequency of 10 GHz after the addition of the triangular shaped slot. The advantages of a Vivaldi antenna such as simplicity, wide bandwidth, and high gain at microwave. The return loss of this Vivladiantenna with triangular slot is – 18.495 dB at resonant frequency of 10 GHz while for Vivaldi antenna is - 17.818 dB at 10 GHz for measurement result. This proposed antenna had been designed and simulated using Computer Simulation Technology (CST) simulation software.

Detection of liquid level in large tanks is presented in this paper. The liquid level is detected using a transmitter and RFID tag antennas as a receiver. The transmitter antenna is a Vivaldi with wide bandwidth from 0.5 GHz to 3 GHz. The Vivaldi antenna is fabricated on FR4 with 𝜀𝑟 = 4.3 and thickness of 0.8 mm. Two conformal RFID tag antennas are used as receiver antennas. The conformal antenna is placed on Rogers Ultram 3850 flexible substrates with 𝜀𝑟 = 2.9 and a thickness of 0.1016 mm. The conformal antenna is designed to set on a cylindrical tank made from PVC material. The first tag works at 0.9 GHz and the second tag works at 2.45 GHz. Water and Oil are used as liquids for testing. The antennas are simulated using CST microwave studio simulator Ver.14. The system is also fabricated and measured. Good agreement is achieved between simulated and measured results.

This paper focuses on the design of a telemetry antenna system intended for small satellites. It provides an axial ratio (AR) lower than 3 dB over ±60° conical space angle with over 20% of bandwidth. The antenna consists of a multilayer patch element fed by a wideband feeding circuit. The latter is an appropriate adjustment of 90° hybrid couplers and 180° ring coupler. We show that this design provides high-quality circular polarization properties for agile small satellites without having to suspend their mission to download their data and also without sacrificing the antenna low profile and wide bandwidth. The antenna is fabricated and the experimental performance is presented and followed by a discussion.
