Frequency control is becoming increasingly critical today due to the growing size and changing structure of complex interconnected power networks. Scaling up economic pressures for efficiency and reliability of the power system has necessitated a requirement for maintaining system frequency, and tie-line power flows as close as possible to scheduled values. High-frequency deviations may degrade load performance, damage equipment, resulting in overloading of transmission lines, which may interfere with system protection schemes, and, finally, may also result in an unstable condition of the power system. More so, Load Frequency Control ( LFC) plays a vital role in the modern power system as an auxiliary service to support power exchanges and, at the same time, to provide better conditions for the trading of electricity. Therefore, the tuning of the dynamic controller (i.e., net frequency and net power interchange errors) is a significant factor in achieving optimum LFC performance. Appropriate tuning of the controller parameters is required in order to achieve excellent control action. In view of this, this paper introduces the dynamic tuning of controller parameters in a two-area multi-source power system with an AC-DC parallel tie line for optimum load-frequency control performance. Matlab/Simulink software is used to realize the system simulation. System dynamic performance is observed for conventional PID tuning by the Ziegler Nichols method and the Kitamori method, fuzzy logic controllers, fuzzy-logic PID controllers, fuzzy PID controllers, and polar-Fuzzy controllers. Furthermore, the frequency and tie-line power response of the interconnected areas were compared based on the setting-time, peak-overshoot, and peak-undershoot. The simulation results show that the responses of the fuzzy-based controllers are faster than those of the classical controllers, resulting in minimized frequency and tie-line power deviations.

CPS test standard has put forward new demands to the management of power grids. This paper analyzes the main influence factors of CPS, and introduces the way of building data warehouse and constructing supplementary analysis system on this basis, which can effectively help power grid workers to research the pros and cons in dispatch and operation. The application of the supplementary analysis system is helpful for Shanghai power grid to enhance AGC control and frequency control ability under the control performance standard.

The Mathematical Model

According to the characteristics of mine fanner, the running characteristic and requirements of load was analyzed, and the fanner control system was simulated by using frequency control technology in this thesis. The speed flux double closed loop vector control system was designed by using the principle of the rotor field-oriented vector control and the mathematical model of asynchronous motor. The simulation model was simulated and analysised by MATLAB/Simulink. The result indicated that the vector control system can not only quickly responded to the change of the load torque but also have good speed control performance, and the mine fanner operation requirements was satisfied.

Abstract This article articulates the frequency control in an isolated microgrid (MG) under a centralized secondary controller. The penetration of distributed generators (DGs) which are weather dependant, and some of them are inertia less cause the instability in the MG. Besides this, unusual/abrupt load change, communication delay, and parameter change uncertainties make the MG more unstable. So, to restore the stability of the MG a sliding mode controller (SMC) is employed. The design of the SMC is carried by selfish herd optimization (SHO) algorithm. To validate the performance of SHO-SMC controller, it is compared with the results obtained by GOA-FOPID-(1+PI), SHO-PID, SHO- FOPID, and SHO-FOPID-(1+PI) controllers. Further, to establish an ameliorated dynamic response of the MG, SHO is modified by applying fuzzy logic named as fuzzy adaptive SHO (FA-SHO). In addition to this, in a two area MG, the potential of SHO/FA-SHO SMC controllers over SHO-SMC, and SHO/FA-SHO FOPID-(1+PI) controllers has been examined. Finally, with some crucial intermittent uncertainties like abrupt load change, time delay, and parameter variation, the robustness of the proposed controller is established.
