The paper describes the results of a measurement campaign to characterize the non-intentional emissions (NIE) that are present in the low voltage section of the electrical grid, within the frequency range assigned to narrowband power line communications (NB-PLC), from 20 kHz to 500 kHz. These NIE may severely degrade the quality of the communications and, in some cases, even isolate the transmission devices. For this reason, the identification and characterization of these perturbations are important aspects for the proper performance of the smart grid services based on PLC. The proper characterization of NIE in this frequency range is a key aspect for the selection of efficient configurations to find the best trade-off between data throughput and robustness, or even for the definition of new improved error detection and correction methods. The huge number of types of NIE, together with the wide variety of grid topologies and loads distribution (density and location of homes and industrial facilities) are great challenges that complicate the thorough characterization of NIE. This work contributes with results from field trials in different scenarios, the identification of different types of NIE and the characterization both in time and frequency domains of all the registered disturbances. This contribution will be helpful for a better knowledge of the electrical grid as a transmission medium for PLC and, therefore, for evaluating the appropriateness of different robustness techniques to be applied in the next generation of smart grid services.

For the growth of Electroluminescent (EL) device market, the attention of many researchers is centered on improving the properties such as brightness, power consumption, device reliability, etc. The powder EL device is one of solutions for the easy mass production, the simplification of structure, and low cost. Although the powder process is the solution, that has the problem with the poor brightness than the film process. So, we focused on increasing the brightness of powder EL device. The emissive layer was made up the composites adding metal oxide nanopowder such as TiO2 and ZnO to powder phosphors. As the data of previous researcher, the TiO2 and ZnO had the different dominating traps by photovoltage measure, that is, TiO2 show hole traps, ZnO show electron traps [1]. The brightness of powder EL device proportions to the high electricfield formation. The TiO2 or ZnO in the powder phosphor composite can help the emission that may be advantageous to form high electricfield at low voltage. The EL devices with green ZnS phosphor were fabricated using spin coating method. The effect of TiO2 and ZnO on the luminescent property of EL device was investigated. The brightness was obtained as applied driving voltage at 400 Hz and frequency variation at 50 V.

1. Calcium channel currents were measured with the whole-cell patch clamp technique in cultured, identified mouse motoneurons. Three components of current were operationally defined on the basis of voltage dependence, kinetics, and pharmacology. 2. Test potentials to -50 mV or greater (10 mM external Ca2+) elicited a low-voltage activated T-type current that was transient (decaying to baseline in less than 200 ms) and had a relatively slow time to peak (20-50 ms). A 1-s prepulse to -45 mV produced approximately half-maximal inactivation of this T current. 3. Two high-voltage activated (HVA) components of current (1 transient and 1 sustained) were activated by test potentials to -20 mV or greater (10 mM external Ca2+). A 1-s prepulse to -35 mV produced approximately half-maximal inactivation of the transient component without affecting the sustained component. 4. When Ba2+ was substituted for Ca2+ as the charge carrier, activation of the HVA components was shifted in the hyperpolarizing direction, and the relative amplitude of the transient HVA component was reduced. 5. Amiloride (1-2 mM) caused a reversible, partial block of the T current without affecting the HVA components. 6. The dihydropyridine agonist isopropyl 4-(2,1,3-benzoxadiazol-4-yl)-1,4-dihydro-2,6-dimethyl-5-nitro-3- pyridine-carboxylate [(+)-SDZ 202-791, 100 nM-1 microM)] shifted the activation of the sustained component of HVA current to more negative potentials and increased its maximal amplitude. Additionally, (+)-SDZ 202-791 caused the appearance of a slowed component of tail current.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)

Five Tunisian varieties of Kabuli chickpea were characterized based on agro morphological, molecular and biochemical parameters to investigate their genetic variability and yield potential. Randomized complete block design field trials were carried out in the upper semi-arid region of Kef in Tunisia during the 2013-2014 seasons. Data analysis showed significant differences between genotypes for several parameters. The results indicated that these genotypes could be set into two different groups. The first group composed of Bochra and Chetoui genotypes. Kasseb, Neyer and Beja1 were in the second group. Genotypes in each group were closely related to each other according to their common morphological characters such as pod number, one hundred seeds weight and yield.  Chetoui and Kasseb varieties are later in comparison to other varieties. Genetic diversity was studied using simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers. Four loci (TA64, TA71, TA96, TA194) were multiallelic. Whereas while two loci (TA72, GAA47) were monomorphic. Polymorphism analysis showed a phylogeny related to genotypes differentiation according to their relatives, origin and several morphological characters. Bochra variety had high amino acids content followed by Chetoui variety. All the varieties were deficient in sulfur amino acids. Chickpeas protein contents were variable and high ranging from 18% to 25%.
