In this paper, evolution of a Friedmann–Robertson–Walker universe is studied in a higher derivative theory of gravity. The relativistic solutions admitting hybrid expansion law of the universe are explored here. Hybrid expansion law is a general form of scale factor from which one can recover both the power-law expansion and exponential expansion as a special case. The hybrid expansion law is interesting as it addresses the early deceleration phase and presents accelerating phase satisfactorily. It is found that an inflationary scenario with hybrid expansion law is permitted in the [Formula: see text] gravity fairly well. We consider universe filled with cosmic fluid that describes by an equation of state (EoS) parameter which varies with time. Consequently, we analyze the time variation of energy density parameter, cosmic pressure, equation of state parameter, deceleration parameter and jerk parameter in the cosmological model. The constraints of the model parameters imposed by the cosmological observational data set are determined. The present value of the deceleration parameter [Formula: see text], EoS parameter and the epoch at which the transition of decelerated phase to accelerated phase are estimated. In the higher derivative theory, we obtain some new and interesting cosmological solutions relevant for building cosmological models.

The gravity or reactive bundle energy is the outlet of the morphogenetic impact, known as “BIG BANG”, creating a bounded ordered/structured universe along with the solar system, including the EARTH-world with its human race. Post-impact, the huge kinetic energy is spread into stellar bodies associated with the light flux under strong mutual connections or gravitational bundle. Einstein’s general relativity theory including the gravitational field can be expressed under a condensed tensor formulation as E  R − Rg =  T where E defines the geometry via a curved space-time structure (R) over the gravity field (1/2Rg), embedded in a matter distribution T The fundamental (ten non-linear partial differential) equations of the gravitational field are a kind of the space-time machine using the curvature of a four-dimensional space-time to engender the gravity field carrying away material structures. Gravity according to the curved space-time theory is not seen as a gravitational force, but it manifests itself in the relativistic form of the space-time curvature needing the constancy of the light speed. But the constant light velocity makes the tidal wave/pulsating energy, a characteristic of solar energy, impossible. The Einstein’s field equation, expressed in terms of tensor formulation along with the constant light speed postulate, needs two special space-time tensors (curvature and torsion) in 4 dimensions, where for the simplicity the torsion/twist tensor is less well approximated (Bianchi identity) leading to a constant/frozen gravity (twist-free gravity). The non-zero torsion tensor plays a significant physical role in the planetary dynamics as a finest gear of a planet, where its spinning rotation is directly connected to the own work and space-time structure (or clock), controlled by light fluctuations (or tidal effect of gravity). The spin correction of Einstein’s gravitational field refers to the curvature-torsion effect coupled with fluctuating light speed. The mutual curvature-torsion bundle self-sustained by the quantum fluctuations of light speed engenders helical gravitational wave fields of a quantum nature where bodies orbit freely in the light speed field (cosmic wind). In contrast to the Einstein’s field equation describing a gravitational frozen field, a quantum tidal gravity model is proposed in the paper.

AbstractWe study a bottom-up holographic description of the QCD colour superconducting phase in the presence of higher derivative corrections. We expand this holographic model in the context of Gauss–Bonnet (GB) gravity. The Cooper pair condensate has been investigated in the deconfinement phase for different values of the GB coupling parameter $$\lambda _{G B}$$ λ GB , we observe a change in the value of the critical chemical potential $$\mu _c$$ μ c in comparison to Einstein gravity. We find that $$\mu _c$$ μ c grows as $$\lambda _{G B}$$ λ GB increases. We add four fermion interactions and show that in the presence of these corrections the main interesting features of the model are still present and that the intrinsic attractive interaction can not be switched off. This study suggests to find GB corrections to equation of state of holographic QCD matter.

In this paper, we regard the dilaton in Weyl-scaled induced gravitational theory as a coupled quintessence. Based on this consideration, we investigate the dilaton coupled quintessence (DCQ) model in the ω - ω′ plane, which is defined by the equation of state parameter for the dark energy and its derivative with respect to N (the logarithm of the scale factor a). We find the scalar field equation of motion in the ω - ω′ plane, and show mathematically the properties of attractor solutions which correspond to ωσ ~ -1, ωσ = 1. Finally, we find that our model is a tracking one which belongs to "freezing" type models classified in the ω - ω′ plane.

We perform an analysis where Einstein's field equation is derived by means of very simple thermodynamical arguments. Our derivation is based on a consideration of the properties of a very small, spacelike two-plane in a uniformly accelerating motion.

We consider the recently proposed higher derivative torsion corrected modified teleparallel gravity and holographic dark energy (HDE) models. We apply the correspondence scheme to construct models in underlying scenario using various scale factor forms. We investigate the reconstructed functions through equation of state (EoS) parameter. It is demonstrated that the EoS parameter provides quintom-like nature of the Universe in most of the cases, i.e. it drives the Universe from vacuum dark energy era toward phantom era of the Universe by crossing the phantom divide line. We also demonstrate that the consistency with the observational data can be achieved.
