Previous to the classification of some of the lines of the phosphorus spectrum into series of the doubly-ionised atom, which is described in the present paper, no series had been observed for the elements of group V of the periodic table. The element phosphorus of this group was selected for investigation because the spectrum corresponding to each stage of ionisation was expected to bear a marked resemblance to that of the silicon atom of one lower stage of ionisation, of the aluminium atom of two stages lower, of the magnesium atom of three stages lower, and so on. The series corresponding to successive stages of ionisation of some of these atoms had already been worked out, and hence, if the series spectra of phosphorus could be observed, a direct comparison would be possible. The spectrum of the neutral atom of phosphorus has been identified and described by the present writer, but no series relationships have been found. This is probably due to the limited range of the spectrum which it has been possible to investigate so far. The region investigated by Geuter in 1907 extends from λ 5727·90 to λ 2389·93 and contains 530 lines which are ascribed to phosphorus. Kayser gives also the approximate wave-lengths of a few more lines at the red end up to λ 6505. Only four of these lines belong to the arc spectrum, and the rest are therefore lines of phosphorus at one or more stages of ionisation.

The evolution of dislocation channels in irradiated metals during deformation can be envisaged to occur in three stages: (i) formation of embryonic cluster free regions, (ii) growth of these regions into microscopically observable channels and (iii) termination of their growth due to the accumulation of dislocation damage. The first two stages are particularly intriguing, and we have attempted to follow the early stages of channel formation in polycrystalline molybdenum, irradiated to 5×1019 n. cm−2 (E > 1 Mev) at the reactor ambient temperature (∼ 60°C), using transmission electron microscopy. The irradiated samples were strained, at room temperature, up to the macroscopic yield point.Figure 1 illustrates the early stages of channel formation. The observations suggest that the cluster free regions, such as A, B and C, form in isolated packets, which could subsequently link-up to evolve a channel.

A new concept of the architecture of hybrid lighting systems for installations of combined lighting is considered. The cascade principle of constructing the optical path of such complexes is described, in which the design contains two stages of the cascade: the upper and lower stages. The upper (input) structure is made on the basis of the corresponding modification of the hollow tube “Solatube®” (daylight), and the lower one, based on the “Solatube®” fibre of a larger diameter, is combined with LED artificial light block and is designed to transmit mixed light (daylight and artificial light). The results of studies on the efficiency of light transmission made it possible to optimize the solution of the new modification of the hybrid lighting complex “Solar LED”, lower stage of the cascade, and to develop the nomenclature of the production line “S”. The description of the first experience of using this complex in the pilot combined illumination system of the “meeting room” in the shopping centre “IKEA Belaya Dacha” headquarters is given. A completely autonomous power supply system for a lighting installation based on solar panels has been implemented.

In agricultural production, weed removal is an important part of crop cultivation, but inevitably, other plants compete with crops for nutrients. Only by identifying and removing weeds can the quality of the harvest be guaranteed. Therefore, the distinction between weeds and crops is particularly important. Recently, deep learning technology has also been applied to the field of botany, and achieved good results. Convolutional neural networks are widely used in deep learning because of their excellent classification effects. The purpose of this article is to find a new method of plant seedling classification. This method includes two stages: image segmentation and image classification. The first stage is to use the improved U-Net to segment the dataset, and the second stage is to use six classification networks to classify the seedlings of the segmented dataset. The dataset used for the experiment contained 12 different types of plants, namely, 3 crops and 9 weeds. The model was evaluated by the multi-class statistical analysis of accuracy, recall, precision, and F1-score. The results show that the two-stage classification method combining the improved U-Net segmentation network and the classification network was more conducive to the classification of plant seedlings, and the classification accuracy reaches 97.7%.

AbstractThis paper reviews the development of agent-based (computational) economics (ACE) from an econometrics viewpoint. The review comprises three stages, characterizing the past, the present, and the future of this development. The first two stages can be interpreted as an attempt to build the econometric foundation of ACE, and, through that, enrich its empirical content. The second stage may then invoke a reverse reflection on the possible agent-based foundation of econometrics. While ACE modeling has been applied to different branches of economics, the one, and probably the only one, which is able to provide evidence of this three-stage development is finance or financial economics. We will, therefore, focus our review only on the literature of agent-based computational finance, or, more specifically, the agent-based modeling of financial markets.

This article describes the development of a behavioral staging algorithm for use in the Eat Well, Live Well Nutrition Program, a peer-delivered community-based program for African American women ( N = 301). The authors examined whether increased frequency in performing low-fat eating behaviors and lower percentage calories from fat intake resulted as a participant moved through five stages of readiness to change each of five low-fat dietary patterns. Frequency of performing low-fat dietary behaviors was significantly different ( p < .05) between four stages for the pattern of avoid fried foods, three stages for modify meats, and two stages for the patterns of substitution, avoid fat as seasoning, replacement. Percentage calories from fat were significantly different ( p < .05) between four stages for the pattern of replacement, three stages for avoid fried foods and modify meats, and two stages for substitution and avoid fat as seasoning. Implications of these findings for the tailoring of community-based dietary programs are presented.


The Intrusion is a major threat to unauthorized data or legal network using the legitimate user identity or any of the back doors and vulnerabilities in the network. IDS mechanisms are developed to detect the intrusions at various levels. The objective of the research work is to improve the Intrusion Detection System performance by applying machine learning techniques based on decision trees for detection and classification of attacks. The methodology adapted will process the datasets in three stages. The experimentation is conducted on KDDCUP99 data sets based on number of features. The Bayesian three modes are analyzed for different sized data sets based upon total number of attacks. The time consumed by the classifier to build the model is analyzed and the accuracy is done.

The article considers the issues of monitoring the thermal conditions of alloys melting and casting at foundries. It is noted that the least reliable method is when the measurement and fixing the temperature is assigned to the worker. On the other hand, a fully automatic approach is not always available for small foundries. In this regard, the expediency of using an automated approach is shown, in which the measurement is assigned to the worker, and the values are recorded automatically. This method assumes implementation of an algorithm for automatic classification of temperature measurements based on an end-to-end array of data obtained in the production stream. The solving of this task is divided into three stages. Preparing of raw data for classification process is provided on the first stage. On the second stage, the task of measurement classification is solved by using neural network principles. Analysis of the results of the artificial neural network has shown its high efficiency and degree of their correspondence with the actual situation on the work site. It was also noted that the application of artificial neural networks principles makes the classification process flexible, due to the ability to easily supplement the process with new parameters and neurons. The final stage is analysis of the obtained results. Correctly performed data classification provides an opportunity not only to assess compliance with technological discipline at the site, but also to improve the process of identifying the causes of casting defects. Application of the proposed approach allows us to reduce the influence of human factor in the analysis of thermal conditions of alloys melting and casting with minimal costs for melting monitoring.

This research is aimed to describe: (1) the structure of folklore legends Inyiak Susu Sabalah in Koto Gadang Village, West Tanjung Raya, District Agam; and (2) the social function of folklore legends Inyiak Susu Sabalah in Koto Gadang Village, West Tanjung Raya, District Agam. This sort of research is a qualitative study using descriptive methods. This research data is structure and social function of folklore legends Inyiak Susu Sabalah in Koto Gadang Village, West Tanjung Raya, District Agam. Data is collected from informants through two stages, that is (1) recording folklore legends Inyiak Susu Sabalah, and (2) data collection about storytelling environment. The data were analyzed by the steps of: (1) a data inventory phase; (2) classification of data; (3) the stage of discussion or conclusion from data classification results; and (4) the stage of reporting. Based on the research, was found the following statements. (1) The structure of folklore legends Inyiak Susu Sabalah in Koto Gadang Village, West Tanjung Raya, District Agam including: (a) language style; (b) characterization; (c) background; (d) storyline; (e) theme; and (f) mandate. The Katav-Ivanovsk transpression zone experienced at least two stages of tectonic deformations, and the sequence of deformations was approximately the same throughout the entire zone — from the Bakal-Satka fault in the south to the Suleimsky fault in the north. Three stages of the formation of parageneses were identified. The parageneses of the first and the second stages were formed in a pure shear environment, and the paragenesis of the third stage — in a simple shear environment. There are stylolites (S1) parallel to bedding, and mineral veins (V1) in the paragenesis of the first stage. Paragenesis of the second stage combines stylolites (S2), mineral veins (V2) and intergranular cleavage (S2). In paragenesis of the third stage were distinguished schistosity (S3), milonites (S3), cataclasites, mica packets (SC-textures), and the rotation structures of porphyroblasts.

AbstractThis work falls within the empirical studies of design activity. Its project is to understand Le Corbusier's designing way and how does he work and structure his design processes. Doing so, it jumps above the descriptive and doctrinal knowledge of objects produced by “Le Corbusier” to study the actions and mechanisms that led to them.To achieve its aim, this study uses genetic method, developed by P.M. De Biasi of literary origin, this research method is made of three stages. The first one, which is of empirical nature, is one of data gathering. It leads to the establishment of genesis tables and to the classification of the all collected documents. The second stage, makes the analysis of all the collected documents one by one. It allows the restitution of the creative process of one projects “Le Corbusier” which is “la chapelle de Notre Dame du haut de Ronchamp”. The last stage is finally that define the design processe of the this project. The results show that the design activity of “Le Corbuiser” obeys the overall logic of one generic model which may be called his individual designing style.
