Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has emerged as a new public health crisis, threatening almost all aspects of human life. Originating in bats, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is transmitted to humans through unknown intermediate hosts, where it is primarily known to cause pneumonia-like complications in the respiratory system. Organ-to-organ transmission has not been ruled out, thereby raising the possibility of the impact of SARS-CoV-2 infection on multiple organ systems. The male reproductive system has been hypothesized to be a potential target of SARS-CoV-2 infection, which is supported by some preliminary evidence. This may pose a global threat to male fertility potential, as men are more prone to SARS-CoV-2 infection than women, especially those of reproductive age. Preliminary reports have also indicated the possibility of sexual transmission of SARS-CoV-2. It may cause severe complications in infected couples. This review focuses on the pathophysiology of potential SARS-CoV-2 infection in the reproductive organs of males along with their invasion mechanisms. The risks of COVID-19 on male fertility as well as the differences in vulnerability to SARS-CoV-2 infection compared with females have also been highlighted.

COVID-19, which occurred in Wuhan, China at the end of December 2019 and have affected the whole world, appears to have drastic effects on human health and economic stability. Economic activities related to global trade decreased with the spread of the epidemic and caused crisis both economically and financially. This virus, which is also a health crisis, has affected human life greatly due to uncertainty in the protection and treatment processes. Increasing numbers of cases and deaths negatively affect the economic progress globally and show that countries with intense epidemic are vulnerable. Not knowing how long the pandemic will last and how long economic activities will be restricted requires an economic precaution. If the pandemic is brought under control quickly, the return to normal economic life will happen quickly and thus all economic sectors, especially service sectors, will recover in a short time. If the process of controlling the pandemic is long, the destruction on economic growth and employment will be at higher levels. With the vaccine found, it is predicted that the normalization process will accelerate and the economy may recover. Increased studies examining the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on financial markets and commodity markets will make it easier for both economists and financial actors in the future.  In this study, the relationship between the daily number of cases of COVID-19 and brent oil, gold, EUR / USD and wheat prices were examined. After the natural logarithm of our variables was applied, it was determined whether they were static or not. ARDL test, Impact-Response Analysis and Variance Decomposition were performed according to the determined lag lengths. According to the results, ARDL test was performed because our data was not stationary according to the ADF test and cointegration was not found among the data. As a result of impact response analysis, shocks lose their effect in a short time.

The Covid-19 pandemic is a global health crisis that has hit more than 100 countries including Taiwan. The agricultural sector is one of the sectors that has experienced the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. One of the strategies and efforts that can solve it is food self-sufficiency through increasing production, diversifying local food, and developing sustainable agriculture. While in the process to achieve food self-sufficiency, there are also many challenges like intensive farming. Therefore, an effort is needed to improve the environment, the quality, and the safety of agriculture products through ecological balance. Permaculture is the system that uses natural principles between humans to live more productive with their environment. Through this concept, practitioners can be more productive with their environment. The study aims to analyze the implementation of permaculture design for food self-sufficiency on farm in eastern Taiwan. This study was used qualitative methods through interviews, participant observation, field notes, documentation to collect data. The result that practitioners integrate several designs based on principles and ethics of permaculture, including providing their food, fruit, vegetables, and livestock products. Practitioners also integrate elements into a multi-functional design, creative ideas to solve the problem that they face and make these efforts a challenge for them, such as bird kites and eagle poles for rice paddy pest problems. Thus, the concept of permaculture has been proven to increase productivity, harmony, and sustainability with the environment through the use of natural principles and human life.

Mental health and suicide are two substantial issues facing our society. They have far reaching impacts on the healthcare and public safety systems, the economy, and human life. Despite their impact and importance, the amount of research is disproportionate to the magnitude of the problem. The current study sought to determine decision requirements of those in mental health crisis and to translate them into a user-friendly mobile application. Individuals who had been in mental health crises and mental health professionals were interviewed. Results showed that both the availability of resources and the impact of anxiety and overwhelm on decision making are areas in which individuals in crisis can be better supported. Outcome of research included design of a prototype mobile application designed to support decision making during mental health crisis.

ObjectivesThe impact of inflammatory arthritis (IA) on male fertility remains unexplored. Our objective was to evaluate the impact of IA on several male fertility outcomes; fertility rate (number of biological children per man), family planning, childlessness and fertility problems.MethodsWe performed a multicentre cross-sectional study (iFAME-Fertility). Men with IA 40 years or older who indicated that their family size was complete were invited to participate. Participants completed a questionnaire that included demographic, medical and fertility-related questions. To analyse the impact of IA on fertility rate, patients were divided into groups according to the age at the time of their diagnosis: ≤30 years (before the peak of reproductive age), between 31 and 40 years (during the peak) and ≥41 years (after the peak).ResultsIn total 628 participants diagnosed with IA were included. Men diagnosed ≤30 years had a lower mean number of children (1.32 (SD 1.14)) than men diagnosed between 31 and 40 years (1.60 (SD 1.35)) and men diagnosed ≥41 years (1.88 (SD 1.14)).This was statistically significant (p=0.0004).The percentages of men diagnosed ≤30 and 31–40 years who were involuntary childless (12.03% vs 10.34% vs 3.98%, p=0.001) and who reported having received medical evaluations for fertility problems (20.61%, 20.69% and 11.36%, p=0.027) were statistically significant higher than men diagnosed ≥41 years.ConclusionsThis is the first study that shows that IA can impair male fertility. Men diagnosed with IA before and during the peak of reproductive age had a lower fertility rate, higher childlessness rate and more fertility problems. Increased awareness and more research into the causes behind this association are urgently needed.

Introduction. Physical activity is known to be an important factor influencing health throughout human life. This issue has become crucial for public health due to the aging of the population in both developed and developing countries. Aim. is to present a literature review on the forms of physical activity undertaken by the elderly, as well as on issues related to physical activity and the population aging. Material and methods. The study was prepared on the basis of a review of Polish and foreign literature. The following databases and data sources were used: EBSCO, ScienceDirect and Google Scholar. An additional source of data were the websites of the Central Statistical Office. Strictly defined key phrases were used during the collection of literature. The work has been divided into thematic subsections on the aging of the society, the impact of physical activity on health and the main topic, i.e. forms of physical activity selected by the elderly. Analysis of the literature. The number of elderly people in Polish society has increased by almost 3.7 million over three decades. Therefore, an important topic is prophylaxis aimed at increasing the number of days in good health, largely covering the broadly understood activation of the elderly. The available data indicate that only 12% of elderly people undertake physical activity once a week. The most common form of spending free time actively is walking (as many as 73% of people in this population declare this form of physical activity in one of the presented studies). Conclusion. Organized forms of physical activity are undertaken much less frequently by the analyzed age group mainly due to financial limitations and limited availability of sports infrastructure.

The article examines the impact of digitalization on human life and intellectual experience. The development of computer technology demands an understanding of new aspects of human development and requires a capability to overcome not only external conditions but also ourselves. Entering a new level of development cannot imply a complete rejection of previous dispositions, but should be accompanied by reflection on personal experience and by the quest for new forms of interaction in society and with nature. Communicative and cognitive activity of a person has an ontological basis and relies on processes that actually evolve in nature. Therefore, the creation of new objects is always associated with the properties of natural material and gives rise to new points of support in the development of man. The more audacious his projects, the more important it is to preserve this connection to nature. It is always the human being who turns out to be the initiator who knows how to solve problems. The conformity of complex technical systems to nature is not only a goal but also a value of meaningful construction of development perspectives. The key to the nature orientation of the modern digital world is the human being himself, who keeps all the secrets of the culture of his natural development. Therefore, the proposed by the Russian philosopher V.S. Stepin post-non-classical approach, based on the principle of “human-sizedness,” is an important contribution to contemporary research because it draws attention to the “human – machine” communication, to the relationship between a person and technological systems he created. The article concludes that during digital transformation, a cultural conflict arises: in an effort to solve the problems of the future, a person equips his life with devices that are designed to support him, to expand his functionality, but at the same time, the boundaries of humanity become dissolved and the forms of human activity undergo simplification. Transhumanism engages society in the fight against fears of vulnerability and memory loss and ignores the flexibility and sustainability of natural foundation.

The article is devoted to the study of concomitant pathology in women of reproductive age who go to the hospital with complaints of menstrual irregularities (NMC). The relevance of this topic is beyond doubt, since every year in Russia and around the world an increasing number of cases of NMC are registered. According to a number of authors, these violations can account for up to 50% of all pathologies of the female genital area. Of great interest is the study of a number of concomitant diseases that can aggravate the course of NMC or, conversely, lead to their development. The aim of the work was to analyze a variety of concomitant pathologies in NMC, with the identification of the main causes of menstrual irregularities in women of fertile age. The objects of the study were 300 patients diagnosed with NMC, who were divided into 3 groups, depending on the level of the medical institution where they were examined - 100 patients each: who were examined in an emergency hospital, examined in an antenatal clinic and undergoing treatment for concomitant oncopathology in the regional oncological dispensary. Subsequently, an additional division was carried out in each group into 2 subgroups, depending on whether the NMC was newly detected or re-identified. In the work itself, a detailed analysis of comorbidities in women was carried out, depending on the group and their age. Not only the "affected" organ systems were identified, but an in-depth analysis of nosologies was also carried out. The work is also interesting in that during the study the level of stress and the presence of possible depressive states were determined in all patients. Determination of the most probable causes of NMC was the final stage of the study. The data obtained can bring practicing obstetricians and gynecologists closer to a more complete understanding of various menstrual irregularities, which, in general, will have a positive effect on the quality and effectiveness of medical care

Abstract:: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is currently a new public health crisis threatening the world. This pandemic disease is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The virus has been reported to be originated in bats and by yet unknown intermediary animals were transmitted to humans in China 2019. The SARSCoV- 2 spreads faster than its two ancestors the SARS-CoV and Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERSCoV) but has reduced fatality. At present, the SARS-CoV-2 has caused about a 1.16 million of deaths with more than 43.4 million confirmed cases worldwide, resulting in a serious threat to public health globally with yet uncertain impact. The disease is transmitted by inhalation or direct contact with an infected person. The incubation period ranges from 1 to 14 days. COVID-19 is accompanied by various symptoms, including cough, fatigue. In most people the disease is mild, but in some other people, such as in elderly and people with chronic diseases, it may progress from pneumonia to a multi-organ dysfunction. Many people are reported asymptomatic. The virus genome is sequenced, but new variants are reported. Numerous biochemical aspects of its structure and function are revealed. To date, no clinically approved vaccines and/or specific therapeutic drugs are available to prevent or treat the COVID-19. However, there are reported intensive researches on the SARSCoV- 2 to potentially identify vaccines and/or drug targets, which may help to overcome the disease. In this review, we discuss recent advances in understanding the molecular structure of SARS-CoV-2 and its biochemical characteristics.

: Infectious diseases have been prevalent since many decades and viral pathogens have caused global health crisis and economic meltdown on a devastating scale. High occurrence of newer viral infections in the recent years, in spite of the progress achieved in the field of pharmaceutical sciences defines the critical need for newer and more effective antiviral therapies and diagnostics. The incidence of multi-drug resistance and adverse effects due to the prolonged use of anti-viral therapy is also a major concern. Nanotechnology offers a cutting edge platform for the development of novel compounds and formulations for biomedical applications. The unique properties of nano-based materials can be attributed to the multi-fold increase in the surface to volume ratio at the nano-scale, tunable surface properties of charge and chemical moieties. Idealistic pharmaceutical properties such as increased bioavailability and retention times, lower toxicity profiles, sustained release formulations, lower dosage forms and most importantly, targeted drug delivery can be achieved through the approach of nanotechnology. The extensively researched nano-based materials are metal and polymeric nanoparticles, dendrimers and micelles, nano-drug delivery vesicles, liposomes and lipid based nanoparticles. In this review article, the impact of nanotechnology on the treatment of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) viral infections during the last decade are outlined.
