Abstract In 2019 January, the appearance of asteroid 6478 Gault immediately attracted attention because this object exhibited a long and thin tail that was quite different from the usual asteroids. This unexpected morphology placed asteroid 6478 Gault into the catalogue of active asteroids. We acquired photometric and spectroscopic observations on 37 nights from 2019 January to April using several telescopes, including LOT (1 m telescope) and SLT (40 cm telescope) at Lulin Observatory, and the 2.4 m telescope at Lijiang station of Yunnan Observatory. We did not find any reliable value for the rotational period of Gault during 2.5 hr and 5 hr observations on 2019 January 26 at Lijiang station and March 25 at Lulin Observatory, respectively. We classified 6478 Gault as a Q-type asteroid using visible spectrum and photometric measurements, including colors (B − Vavg = 0.764 ± 0.045, V − Ravg = 0.450 ± 0.023), and relative reflectance. By using Finson–Probstein analysis, the grain size for Gault’s tail 2 is larger than 20 μm.

AbstractWe present intensive photometric and spectroscopic observations of SN 2010as carried out by the Millennium Center for Supernova Studies (MCSS) and the Carnegie Supernova Project (CSP). The SN belongs to the transitional type Ibc (SN Ibc) that is characterized by the slow appearance of weak helium lines with low expansion velocities. We find a wide variety of photometric properties among otherwise spectroscopically similar SN Ibc. A hydrodynamical model is used to provide physical properties of SN 2010as in comparison with the bolometric light curve and expansion velocity.

AbstractWe present a radiative-convective equilibrium model for young giant exoplanets. Model predictions are compared with the existing photometric measurements of the planet β Pictoris b in the J, H, Ks, L', NB 4.05, M' bands. This model will be used to interpret future photometric and spectroscopic observations of exoplanets with SPHERE, mounted at the VLT with a first light expected mid-2014.

Abstract.Recent photometric and spectroscopic observations of the dwarf nova system Z Cha are discussed. Methods for constraining the system parameters are applied and the disc emissivity is deduced as a function of radius. Indications are found that the disc shrinks in size with increasing time after outburst.

Abstract Haynes 625SQ alloy is a modification of Haynes 625 alloy (see Alloy Digest Ni-354, January 1988) with tighter controls on chemistry and a finer grain size for fatigue resistance up to 680 deg C (1250 deg F). This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, microstructure, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fatigue. It also includes information on high temperature performance as well as heat treating. Filing Code: Ni-612. Producer or source: Haynes International Inc.

Abstract BLACK DIAMOND STANDARD is an electric-furnace-melted, water-hardening carbon tool steel with an excellent reputation for use as the standard in general shop tools requiring extreme toughness and resistance to shock and impact. In the lower carbon ranges (0.50-0.70% carbon), it is used primarily for tools such as pins, punches, hammers and sledges. Black Diamond may be expected to give uniform and consistent results, although no definite limits of case depth or grain size are regularly guaranteed. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: TS-281. Producer or source: Crucible Specialty Metals Division, Colt Industries.
