The aim of this study was to investigate the enhancement of the mathematical understanding ability of pre-service mathematics teachers through Activity-Class Discussion-Exercise (ACE) teaching cyclic based on APOS theory. This study used a quasi-experiment method with non-equivalent pre-post test control group design. The subjects of this study were 120 pre-service mathematics teachers from two universities in Palembang, Indonesia. The subjects were divided into two class, that is, experiment and control class. Experiment class was a class that is applied ADE teaching cyclic based on APOS theory, whereas control class was a class that is applied direct learning. The subjects were also divided into three groups of mathematical initial ability, that is, high, average, and low. The Instruments used in this study were mathematical initial ability test, mathematical understanding ability test, observation, and interview. Data analysis tests used in this study were statistic test of parametric and non-parametric. The results of data analysis showed that 1) there is no significant difference between the improvement of mathematical understanding ability of pre-service mathematics teachers applied ACE teaching cyclic based on APOS theory and direct learning in terms of overall and the group of mathematical initial ability, 2) there is no interaction between learning factors (APOS and direct learning) and the group of mathematical initial ability (high, average, and low) to the improvement of mathematical understanding ability of pre-service mathematics teachers.

Abstract. Calculus is a branch of science from Mathematics that is needed for the development of science so that it is important for students who take mathematics study programs. This study aims to analyze the ability of students' mathematical understanding of calculus courses based on Apos theory. The subjects of this study were 30 regular 5th semester students in class A Mathematics Education Study Program 2018/2019 academic year at one of Universities in East Jakarta. Data is collected through tests, interviews and observation. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the analysis of the ability of students' mathematical understanding in calculus subjects based on Apos theory is as follows: (1) The achievement of students' mathematical understanding ability in calculus courses based on Apos theory is still not optimal, especially in the indicator of 'functional understanding'. (2) There are 5 students who get a value of less than 50, There are 6 students who score between 50 and 60, There are 5 students who get grades between 61 and 70, There are 8 students who score between 71 and 80 and There are 6 students who score between 81 and 100. (3) The average test of mathematical comprehension ability overall was 68.3 and the perfect score was achieved by 2 students. Keywords: Mathematical Understanding Ability, Calculus, Apos Theory

The purpose of this research are : 1) knowing the process of developing interactive with using Adobe Flash CS3 Professional media, 2) knowing the effectiveness of interactive learning with using Adobe Flash CS3 Professional media, 3). knowing the ability of students' mathematical understanding after using the Adobe Flash CS3 Professional media. The type of research is Research and Development (R & D) with One-Group Pretest-Posttest. The research was conducted at Mardi Waluya 2 Sukabumi Junior High School in the 2018/2019 semester event. The writer take the population of this study is on VII class. The sample used simple random sampling and for the instruments used were validation questionnaires media and tests. Data analysis techniques are using the Likert scale for validation questionnaires media, using the T test to determine effectiveness, and N-Gain to determine the increase in students' mathematical understanding skills. Interactive learning media are valued by media experts and material experts, with the results obtained that are valid so that they can be used in learning. The results of the effectiveness test are Thit (8.78)> T table (1,699) with a significant level used which is 5%. With high criteria of N-Gain test results are 75.61. Based on the results of these studies, interactive learning with using Adobe Flash CS3 Professional media can be effective in learning and can improve students' of mathematical understanding skills.

The objectives of the study are (1) to produce student worksheets based on APOS Theory for Math lessons in Class X Senior High School which is in line with the 2013 Curriculum; (2) to evaluate the effectivity of the student worksheets based on APOS Theory, in terms of the activity and result of learning Matrix. The results of the study are (1) the development of the worksheets (according to APOS Theory) were carried out through five stages, namely, analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation; (2) the assessments performed by media experts, material specialists and subject teachers showed that the worksheets developed are feasible and could be used for students of Class X Senior High School; (3) the responses given by the students towards the worksheets were good; (4) the effectivity of the learning was elevated; it was shown by the increased learning activities of the students and the higher average score of the test (87.14), compared to the minimum criterion of completeness of 75.
