B. F. Mudge (1817-79), appointed the first Kansas State Geologist in 1864, served for only one year. Inexperienced, and with no chance of fulfilling the requirements of an expansive law, he was succeeded in 1865 by G. C. Swallow (1817-99). Aided by F. Hawn and the other former members of Mudge's survey, Swallow, who received a larger budget and an open-ended appointment with no specified duties, produced a more impressive report, although he was not funded in 1866. Mudge went to Kansas State Agricultural College, Manhattan, where he became the preeminent Kansas geologist during the years 1866-70. Although better known for his fossil vertebrate collections in the Cretaceous of Western Kansas in the 1870's, Mudge made significant invertebrate collections from the Cretaceous. Building on the foundation laid by F. V. Hayden and F. B. Meek, he was able, with considerable input from Meek, to make a major contribution toward elucidating the stratigraphy of the Kansas Cretaceous.

The article discusses the features of patriotic quest games by the example of cognitive game "We remember, we are proud", which have been organized by Center for children and youth tourism and excursions. At the beginning of the article the basic principles of the development and implementation quests in a museum are determined, the urgency such activities is highlighted. Further the author, following own experience, introduces readers to the development of game-investigation "We remember, we are proud", represents the progress of work and the final results. The article describes course of the game, the event format, the main playgrounds. It is planned to combine the two interactive forms: a solution of game tasks by examining the museum exhibition and collective cognitive activity. The case of considered game has been successfully presented and has been declared the winner in the regional competition of teaching materials for patriotic education "Proud of Russia!" (Yaroslavl). This working out the game has been successfully presented at the intramural competitive selection of innovative projects of young scientists on priority directions of science and technology "Innovation potential of youth" (Yaroslavl State Pedagogical University named after K.D.Ushinsky), as well as on the webinar of the State educational institution of Yaroslavl region "Center for children and youth tourism and excursions" - "Excursion routes to mark the 70th anniversary of Victory ("Guided educational programs dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic war")." Currently, the authorial case of the game-investigation is the working material of the Center for children and youth tourism and excursions and is successfully put into practice in the course of the game for students of secondary school. Theme of the article is relevant in the context of the public policy in patriotic education and preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War.

The article is devoted to psychological and pedagogical support of the educational process in the children´s educational institution, based on the formation of professional skills of teachers, psychological culture of their parents, in turn, versatile, fully develop the child forms in his capacity to a level corresponding to the age peculiarities and requirements of the modern world. The main result of the activities of the psycho-pedagogical support preschool, which is consistent with both the social needs of the population and the requirements of the federal state educational standards, is an adaptation of children at all levels of training to the rapidly changing life of society, to ensure the organization of educational process aimed at constructive formation of the child´s personality.

The article deals with the problems of professional education at the current stage of national economy’s development. The authors attract attention to the difference between the approaches to improving secondary and higher professional education. Government agencies of the highest level focus on improving the system of higher education and labour force training, but training of mid-level specialists has recently fallen out of their sight. Lately a great number of colleges have become part of higher educational institutions. However, during the latest reorganization of the Ministry of Education and Science, which resulted in foundation of the Ministry of Education, secondary professional education fell under the jurisdiction of the latter. The authors suggest uniting secondary and higher professional education into one single system and consider that as higher education. Line engineers will be trained at colleges (even on the basis of basic general education) but probably the term of training will be a little longer due to the fact that colleges are expected to be part of the university structure. Such educational programs could be implemented in regional branches of head universities to provide local industries, small and medium businesses with skilled workforce. The practice of students’ training proved that the division of Bachelors’ and Masters’ competences by the type of their future job is senseless as students do not determine their preferences for future occupation during the period of their studies. The authors suggest developing generalized competence models of graduates. The models could be used to formulate the requirements to the graduates with different level of education. Graduates with professional education will receive diploma together with a supplement containing the list of competences obtained. New Federal State Educational Systems of all levels of higher education read that professional competences are established by an educational institution itself. Therefore, the authors suggest considering issuing university diplomas instead of those of state educational standard.

The article presents the results of a study of dispositional styles, which are reflected in the content of the original fairy tales of adolescents with oncological (n=40) and rheumatic (n=50) diseases. All adolescents underwent long-term treatment in Moscow medical organizations and were students of the State educational institution of the city of Moscow School “Teaching Technologies”. A dispositional behavior style (including resilient / victimized styles) is considered as a set of attitudes formed as a result of interaction with the environment and encouraging certain behavioral reactions and actions, which reflect the “behavior signature”. It was found that in conditions of oncological and rheumatic disabling diseases that create a deficit social situation of development, adolescents are characterized by different dispositional behavior styles, each of which has a resource for compensation. For adolescents with a resilient dispositional style, compensatory resources include attitudes toward involvement, control, and risk taking. For teenagers with a victimized dispositional style, a fairy tale becomes a compensatory resource: in fairy-tales they express their feelings and reflect on the problem of finding meaning. For adolescents with an unstable style compensatory resources are a combination of resilient attitudes and fairy tale resources.

Summary. The article describes the methodology of conducting practical classes on module 5 “Reconstructive-Restorative Surgery of the Maxillofacial Area” for students of the 5th year of the Faculty of Dentistry at the Higher State Educational Institution of Ukraine “Bukovyna State Medical University”.The aim of the study – to increase the level of mastering the educational material on the discipline “Surgical Dentistry” in the 9 th semester at the 5th year.Materials and Methods. We have developed a teaching complex, which includes lectures, practical and individual classes, and aims to improve the efficiency of the discipline “Surgery”.Results and Discussion. In the Higher State Educational Institution of Ukraine “Bukovyna State Medical University” teaching “Surgery” at the 9 th semester of the 5 th year carried out by “cycle” in accordance with the curriculum according to the credit-transfer system. According to the standard curriculum for the study module “Reconstructive surgery, maxillofacial area” 165 hours, including 24 – lecture hours, 86 – practical hours and 55 – individual work of students, the number of creadits – 5.5 are given. For quality study subjects teacher and every student has access to distance learning serve “Moodle” that allows students to expand their knowledge.To facilitate the orientation of students in the curriculum course “Surgical dentistry” in “Moodle” placement schedule of lectures and practical training, thematic plan of practical classes and individual work appropriate methodical instructions, video material, tests.At the end of the cycle, each student must complete the final module control, which takes place after the completion of the study of all the topics of the module at the last lesson.Conclusions. Using this technique within the credit-transfer system is effective for teaching students of the 5-th year dental faculty students, promotes careful study of theoretical issues Module 5 “reconstructive surgery, maxillofacial area” makes it possible to curation dental patients with surgical pathology of maxillofacial area, writing medical documentation, carefully prepares students for writing an integrated licensing exam “Krok-2. Dentistry “and a state final exam, and also contributes to the ultimate goal of education – the training of skilled competitive professionals

Профессиональная управленческая деятельность руководителя образовательной организации сопровождается в обязательном порядке необходимостью издания документов или принятия решений, основанных на документной информации. С этой точки зрения одним из аспектов подготовки обучающихся по программе подготовки магистратуры «Управление образованием» является освоение ими дисциплины «Делопроизводство в образовании». Исследование проводилось на основе анализа научной, педагогической и специальной литературы, федеральных государственных образовательных стандартов высшего образования, процесса и результатов преподавания курса делопроизводства. Достижение цели исследования реализуется на основе системного, деятельностного и задачного подходов. На основе анализа проекта профессионального стандарта руководителя в сфере образования обосновано введение в образовательную программу подготовки магистратуры по профилю «Управление образованием» курса «Делопроизводство в образовании», разработан учебно-методический комплекс по вопросам делопроизводства и документационного обеспечения управления. При осуществлении трудовых функций руководителя образовательного учреждения во многих случаях сопутствующей становится функция в области делопроизводства и документационного обеспечения управления образовательным учреждением. Удовлетворению потребности в формировании компетентности руководителя образовательного учреждения в этой области отвечает разработанный курс «Делопроизводство в образовании». Professional managerial activity of the head of an educational institution is closely related to the need to prepare a great number of documents or make decisions based on documentary information. From this point of view, one of the aspects of preparing students for the master’s program in “Education Management” is mastering of the discipline “Records Management in Education”. The study was carried out on the basis of the analysis of scientific, pedagogical and special literature, federal state educational standards of higher education, the process and results of teaching the course of office work. Achievement of the research goal is realized on the basis of system, activity and task approaches. Based on the analysis of the project of professional standard of the manager in the field of education justified the introduction of the educational program of training graduate in “Education Management” course “Records Management in Education”. For this purpose, an educational and methodological complex has been developed on the issues of office management and documentation support for management. In the implementation of the labor functions of the head of an educational institution in many cases, the function in the field of office management and documentation support for managing an educational institution becomes concomitant. The course “Records Management in Education” meets the need for the formation of the competence of the head of an educational institution in this area.
