Change is an ever-present aspect of social life. Change can be swift and highly disruptive or slow and less unsettling. The changing structure of body disposition is an example of the latter. The traditional funeral is slowly losing the broad support it once enjoyed. This work explores three of the new methods of body disposition: (1) cremation; (2) secular, life-centered funerals; and (3) celebratory, “fun” funerals. The study opens with a review of the historical changes that have led to what most would consider traditional funerals. The reader will find a discussion of what many would say are deviant methods of body disposition. Cremation is quickly becoming less deviant. To be sure, of the three evolving types of funerals, none are as contentious as the fun funeral. The life-centered, celebratory funeral is growing in popularity in other parts of the world (especially Australia) yet is relatively unheard of in America.

AbstractThis research discussed about a person namely as Arby Samah that has known as a pioneer of art sculpture in Indonesia, it was also to reveal the reason of Arby Samah why choosing sculpture as his work of art. The aim of the research was too see the figure of Arby Samah as a pioneer of art sculpture in Indonesia, and also his contribution to the growth of art sculpture in indonesia especially in west sumatera province. Theory of the research used  the selection and observation of the nature symptom. This research focused to the historic perspective that consist of two dimensions, present aspect and past aspect. The method that used in this research was qualitative with descriptive analysis approach. The technique that used in collecting data were field observation, interview and taking the related documents. The result showed that when in producing abstract art sculpture, Arby Samah was influenced by factors: 1) West Sumatera culture that made art sculpture  difficult to growth. 2) the tight tradition or the custom of West sumatera, it limited the people to create art sculpture. 3) Islam is the majority religion of the people in west sumatera were in Al Qur’an and Al Hadist has stated that creating sculpture in realist form was prohibited.  Keywords: arby samah, abstract sculpture, culture.

Objective: The major objective of the present investigation was to extract a natural polymer (okra gum) with its characterization as pharmaceutical binder and to formulate, develop, and evaluate the compression-coated tablet using okra as binder along with synthetic hydrophilic polymers like various grades of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC).Methods: A novel extraction method was carried out using fresh unripe pods of okra (ladies finger) with the aid of organic solvents and its characterization was done. The core tablets were prepared by direct compression method which was compression coated with okra gum and HPMC.Results: After the extraction of the okra gum was carried out, the yield of mucilage obtained was 10%. It is considered as a proof for the purity of the mucilage extract. The above study reveals that the polymers were subjected to the Fourier transform infrared and differential scanning calorimetry thermogram had no significant interactions between the drug and the polymers. The characterization of the new polymer okra showed that it has swelling properties, and in spite of being a hydrophilic polymer, it can be successfully used in pharmaceutical formulation as a good binder. Conclusion: In the present aspect of the study was to evaluate the efficacy of okra gum that has been used as a tablet binder. It is easily available and inexpensive. Okra gum as a binder produces tablet formulations with good physicochemical properties and good candidate for sustained release formulations.

Is consciousness something distinct from the intellectual operations named perceiving, conceiving, reasoning, recollecting, imagining; or do these operations ever take place in the absence of consciousness? In order to answer this vital question it is necessary that consciousness should be examined with a microscopic nicety, rarely, as we take it, attained to since Reid explored this field of science. When we consider that, for forty years, Reid, with an enthusiastic admiration for that inductive method which the genius of Newton and others illuminated with such brilliancy, questioned Nature, Nature in man, as to the character of perception, and decided that the objects disclosed by it were not mentally possessed; investigators are bound, for their own credit's sake, to show beyond doubt that Reid is in error before they flippantly accuse him of being singularly wanting in penetration. Yet the conclusion which is forced upon us by the present aspect of psychology and cerebral physiology, not to mention metaphysic, is to the effect either that Reid was singularly wanting in analytical ability, or that the living race of psychologists must be going far astray on a most vital point. We have lately been forced to believe that Reid is on the right road; yet, sooth to say, during many years objects have been to us, as it would seem to psychologists in general, a most fertile source of perplexity and confusion. It is only very lately we have succeeded in realising the fact that the object, or the known, is not an element of the knowing; that knowing is not knowing plus known, but knowing purely and simply, a single fact, not a double one; not a synthesis of consciousness and object, but consciousness only, that and nothing more.
