Reactions between AgC2Ar (Ar = Ph or C6F5) and RhCl(PPh3)3 or IrCl(CO)(PPh3)2 have given hexanuclear heteroatom cluster compounds M2Ag4(C2Ar)8(PPh3)2 (M = Rh or Ir), and the zwitterionic complexes {[Ag(PPh3)]+ [M(C2C6F5)4(PPh3)2]-} and {[Ag(PPh3)]2+ [Rh(C2C6F5)5(PPh3)] 2-}.The structures of these complexes are described and discussed, together with possible reactions by which they may be formed.

The reaction of GeCl2·dioxane with KFeCp(CO)2 leads to polyhedral cluster compounds with six germanium atoms like Ge6[FeCp(CO)2]6 or Ge6Cl2[FeCp(CO)2]6via a complex reaction route.
