AbstractThe parameters of the HI Parkes All-Sky Surveys (HIPASS), as proposed by the Multibeam Survey Working Group, are described, as are the advantages and disadvantages of various multibeam observing techniques, including telescope scanning. The best techniques, in terms of minimising the variance in image sensitivity, are calculated. Some of the observing techniques may be applicable to other multibeam surveys.

The paper presents a phase of an on-going interdisciplinary research concerning the medieval site of Casertavecchia (Italy). The project aims to develop a multi-technique approach for the semantic - enriched 3D modeling starting from the automatic acquisition of several data.

In particular, the paper reports the results of the first stage about the Cathedral square of the medieval village. The work is focused on evaluating the potential of an imaging rover for automatic point cloud generation. Each of survey techniques has its own advantages and disadvantages so the ideal approach is an integrated methodology in order to maximize single instrument performance.

The experimentation was conducted on the Cathedral square of the ancient site of Casertavecchia, in Campania, Italy.

Division IX provides a forum for astronomers engaged in the innovation, development, and calibration of optical instrumentation and observational procedures, including data processing. The Reports of Commissions 9, 25 and 30 highlight the research topics covered from 1996 to 1999. Two Working Groups are associated with Comm. 9, viz. the Working Group on Sky Surveys, and the Working Group on Detectors; Commission 25 has one Working Group dealing with Infrared Astronomy. For a detailed account of progress over the last triennium, we refer to the following Reports of Commissions and Working Groups.

Objective. There is an unmet need for reliable, validated, and widely accepted outcomes and outcome measures for use in clinical trials in Behçet syndrome (BS). Our report summarizes initial steps taken by the Outcome Measures in Rheumatology (OMERACT) vasculitis working group toward developing a core set of outcome measures for BS according to the OMERACT methodology, including the OMERACT Filter 2.0, and discussions during the first meeting of the BS working group held during OMERACT 12 (2014).Methods.During OMERACT 12, some of the important challenges in developing outcomes for BS were outlined and discussed, and a research agenda was drafted.Results.Among topics discussed were the advantages and disadvantages of a composite measure for BS that evaluates several organs/organ systems; bringing patients and physicians together for discussions about how to assess disease activity; use of organ-specific measures developed for other diseases; and the inclusion of generic, disease-specific, or organ-specific measures. The importance of incorporating patients’ perspectives, concerns, and ideas into outcome measure development was emphasized.Conclusion.The planned research agenda includes conducting a Delphi exercise among physicians from different specialties that are involved in the care of patients with BS and among patients with BS, with the aim of identifying candidate domains and subdomains to be assessed in randomized clinical trials of BS, and candidate items for a composite measure. The ultimate goal of the group is to develop a validated and widely accepted core set of outcomes and outcome measures for use in clinical trials in BS.

The monograph addresses the issues of expert evaluation of complex systems. The survey techniques, the methods for calculating the weighting factors of influencing factors, the approaches to the formalization of the objects of study are described. The advantages and disadvantages of the procedures and algorithms used are analyzed. It is shown how expert estimates can be applied in various models and metrics. Examples of implementation in the tasks of territorial zoning, assessment of situations, and the selection of the most promising alternative are given. The monograph is designed for researchers, graduate students and undergraduates and engineers of various specialties who use in their research and development methods of multi-criteria evaluation of complex systems.

AbstractMost countries have their own programs and requirements for surgical residency. To investigate the differences as well as the advantages and disadvantages of the programs and to explore the happiness of the residents in the different countries, the Surgical Working Group of “Young Surgeons” of the German Society for General and Visceral Surgery has designed a questionnaire. It focuses on three parts: structural and legal requirements, operating room (OR)- and non-OR-related content of the program, and contentment of the residents. In this opinion paper, first the results are shared by the description of the programs in nine different countries. It is shown that the requirements to become a surgeon differ highly between the different countries. Nonetheless, a structured curriculum, the possibility of feedback or a surgical mentoring program, and transparency regarding the OR schedule seem to be important to all residents to reach job satisfaction.

In September 2013, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released the Working Group I Contribution to the Fifth Assessment Report (WGI AR5). Based on the latest observational data and research literatures since the publication of the Fourth Assessment Report (AR4) in 2007, this report comprehensively assesses the research progress in the field of climate change, providing significant scientific basis for international community to deeply understand and address the climate change. This paper introduces the core conclusions of WGI AR5, and illustrates Chinese scientific community's contribution to this report, meanwhile, gives a brief analysis of China's advantages and disadvantages in the field of climate change science through analyzing this report.

EFFORTS TO INCREASE THE TEACHER'S GROUP TEACHER COMPETENCY THROUGH THE TEACHER WORK GROUPS IN CENTRAL BAKUNG CIMAHI Syah Khalif [email protected] Siliwangi AbstractThis study aims to determine the implementation process and the results of teacher competency development in the group of teachers of the kindergarten cluster Bakung Cimahi Tengah. The formulation of the problem in this research is whether the teacher working group can improve the competence of kindergarten teacher group in Central Cimahi? And how the implementation process, the results of coaching, advantages, and disadvantages after the guidance of pedagogic competence of teachers in the cluster group of teachers Cilahi Tengah. The approach used in this research is qualitative approach with descriptive research method. The population in this research is in Cimahi Tengah lily group consisting of 29 teachers from 7 kindergarten schools. Based on the results of research that during the process of implementation of the working group of teachers still do not understand its role as a subject of learning. While the result of guidance pedagogic competence of teachers successfully implemented, the teacher showed an active, enthusiastic, and happy attitude during the learning took place. It can be concluded that improving the competence of teachers through teacher workgroups can experience a significant increase as when supervisors provide direction and guidance look more active and confident, and improve the competence of teachers through teacher work groups more effectively and better, teachers are more understanding and can doing activities well. Key Words: Teacher Competence, Early Childhood Education, Teacher Working Groups

Abstract. The experience on a 10-11th century AD cargo of amphoras of the shipwreck of Cape Stoba, in the island of Mljet, in Croatia could be considered an important example to describe the progress of documentation and survey on a shipwreck. In the first part of the paper, we describe some of the used feasible methods of documentation and their advantages and disadvantages. In the second part, we introduce the three-dimensional reconstruction of the items recovered during the archaeological excavation and how these elements could be integrated to the different types of documentation: bi-dimensional plans, three-dimensional coordinates and multi-image photogrammetry.

3D reconstruction allows to decrease and optimize time and work during the excavation and to obtain a complete range of data for post-excavation study, permitting to better document, represent and investigate the position of the cargo. Furthermore, 3D modelling offers an attractive display for the public, who can better appreciate cultural heritage and archaeological evidence.

The paper describes one specific approach to implementing web based survey research and reviews a range of online survey techniques. The advantages and disadvantages of various web based survey approaches are discussed. The paper describes one research project that used an 'off line contact-online response' in an educational setting. The researchers conclude that it is not possible to describe one process that would work well in all situations, given the variations in the way technology is currently utilised in schools and homes. The paper discusses the problems encountered and makes suggestions for future web based survey research.
