Plagiarism detection software packages have an important role in detection of plagiarism in exams, assignments, projects, and scientific researches. The main goal of this chapter is the selection of plagiarism detection software (PDS) and its integration into Moodle, an open source learning management system (LMS), for the use of a higher education institution. For this reason, first, the selection criteria are determined by nominal group technique (NGT) and then the most appropriate PDS is selected. At the end of the study, Crot, an open source PDS, is determined and integrated into Moodle. The suggested selection criteria would be useful for other higher education institutions in Turkey and other countries that rely on open software.

Field laboratories interested in using the MinION often need the internet to perform sample analysis. Thus, the lack of internet connectivity in resource-limited or remote locations renders downstream analysis problematic, resulting in a lack of sample identification in the field. Due to this dependency, field samples are generally transported back to the lab for analysis where internet availability for downstream analysis is available. These logistics problems and the time lost in sample characterization and identification, pose a significant problem for field scientists. To address this limitation, we have developed a stand-alone data analysis packet using open source tools developed by the Nanopore community that does not depend on internet availability. Like Oxford Nanopore Technologies’ (ONT) cloud-based What’s In My Pot (WIMP) software, we developed the offline MinION Detection Software (MINDS) based on the Centrifuge classification engine for rapid species identification. Several online bioinformatics applications have been developed surrounding ONT’s framework for analysis of long reads. We have developed and evaluated an offline real time classification application pipeline using open source tools developed by the Nanopore community that does not depend on internet availability. Our application has been tested on ATCC’s 20 strain even mix whole cell (ATCC MSA-2002) sample. Using the Rapid Sequencing Kit (SQK-RAD004), we were able to identify all 20 organisms at species level. The analysis was performed in 15 min using a Dell Precision 7720 laptop. Our offline downstream bioinformatics application provides a cost-effective option as well as quick turn-around time when analyzing samples in the field, thus enabling researchers to fully utilize ONT’s MinION portability, ease-of-use, and identification capability in remote locations.

Monitoring of traffic and unprecedented violence has become very much necessary in the urban as well as the rural areas, so the paper attempts to develop a CCTV surveillance for unprecedented violence and traffic monitoring. The proffered method performs the synchronization of the videos and does proper alliance employing the algorithms of motion detection and contour filtering. The steps in motion detection identifies the movement of the objects such as vehicles and unprecedented activities whereas the filtering is used to identify the object itself using its color. The synchronization and the alignment process affords to provide the details of the each objects on the scenario. The proposed algorithm is developed in Java which assists its model using its library that is open source. The validation of the proposed model was carried out using the data set acquired from real time and results were acquired. Moreover the results acquired were compared with the algorithms that were created in the early stages, the comparison proved that the proffered model was capable of obtaining a consecutive quick outcomes of 12.3912 *factor than the existing methods for the resolution of the video used in testing was 240.01x 320.01 with 40 frames per second with cameras of high definition. Further the results acquired were computed to run the application of the embedded CPU and the GPU processors.

This research proposed novel bovine sperm selection method based on sperm motility parameter to support bovine breeding industry. Sperm selection method consists of three main processes. First, decrease and holdbovine semen temperature at 4oC to reduce average sperm motility.Second, determine targeted sperm location which has highest motility within objective’s field of view after general motility observed decreasedinto 5% from initial value.Third, track targeted sperm and maintain holding temperature continuously until targeted sperm immotile and ready to be aspirated. Testing result showstemperature controller prototype can decrease bovine semen temperature safely without generate any intracellular ice. Micro actuator prototype can provide high motion performance exceed bovine sperm average velocity so it fully supporting motion detection software to perform real time bovine sperm tracking. Autofocus mechanism was succeedingincrease motion detection sensitivity using 4X, 10X and 40X objectives lens. All prototype devices developed in this research provide safely selection process to achieve high quality bovine sperm.
