This research is motivated by the learning process carried out in class V of SD Negeri 8 Metro Timur, SD Negeri 1 Metro Barat, SD Negeri 1 Metro Utara dan SD Negeri 5 Metro Pusat. The implementation of the learning process carried out by teachers who generally still use conventional learning methods and models that are only fixated on books and more teacher-centered, students listen to explanations from the teacher, take notes, memorize information and work on problems. practice questions rather than doing practical activities through experiments or experiments. As a result, the learning process becomes less attractive and seems monotonous because students tend to be passive and less participatory in learning activities. Teachers lack innovation in the use of active and innovative methods or learning models that are more student centered. That is, learning that provides more opportunities for students to construct independently the process of understanding material through a more active learning process through search activities and problem solving. In response to this, researchers conduct learning using a project based learning learning model with the aim of improving students' science process skills and scientific literacy skills. The purpose of this study was to describe the influence of the PjBL model on process skills and scientific literacy skills. The type of this study is quasi-experimental research using the design of nonequivalent groups pre test-post test from Fraenkel and Wallen. The design of nonequivalent groups pre test - post test was started by setting the experimental group and the control group, then doing the pre test, followed by giving treatment to the two classes and ending with a post test. The subjects in this study were fifth grade elementary school students in Metro City. Data collection techniques in the form of tests. The research instrument is a spatial literacy test sheet. Data were analyzed using normality test and Mann Whitney test. The results of this study indicate that the PjBL model can improve science process skills and higher scientific literacy skills compared to groups of students who get conventional learning. Keywords: skills of science literacy, skills of science process, elementary students.

[English]: This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the problem-based calculus learning model (PB-CLM) towards students’ higher-order thinking skills (HOTS). PB-CLM is a modification of problem-based learning’s (PBL) syntax. It was a quasi-experimental with a group pretest-posttest design involving 351 11th-grade students as the population. Seventy-one students of two classes were randomly selected as a sample. Data was collected through pretest and posttest developed from three aspects of HOTS; analysis, evaluation, and synthesis. To determine the effectiveness of PB-CLM, paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test with a significance level of 5% (α = 0.05) were used. The results show that students’ activities during the learning process in PB-CLM has a positive effect on increasing their HOTS (mean difference = 30.141; sig one-tailed = 0.000). Furthermore, there was no significant difference in HOTS among male and female students, both at the pretest and posttest (mean difference = 0.81731; sig.= 0.295). Likewise, the increase in HOTS scores (posttest-pretest) did not differ significantly between gender (mean difference = 0.88141; sig. one-tailed = 0.740). The purpose of this research is to improve the competence of teachers in teaching multi-literacy through a training programme based on the Read–Answer–Discuss–Explain–Create (RADEC) learning model. This descriptive qualitative study was conducted in a private primary school in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. The participants included were a teacher and 29 students (17 male and 12 female students, with an average age of 11 years). Documentations, observations and interviews were used as data collection. The data were analysed quantitatively and through the Rasch model. The results show that mentoring during the implementation of the RADEC model can increase teachers’ knowledge of multi-literacy learning and teachers’ skills in planning and implementing the RADEC model. It can be concluded that the RADEC learning model contributes to a positive change in student learning, promotes 21st-century skills and includes multi-literacy skills. Thus, trainers can use the RADEC learning model to enhance teachers’ ability in teaching multi-literacy.           Keywords: Multi-literacy, RADEC model, teachers’ competence

In the strict challenges faced by society, a paradigm shift is needed in the education system that can provide a set of 21st century skills needed by students to deal with every aspect of global life. One of them is scientific literacy. Unfortunately, the scientific literacy ability of students in Indonesia is still low. The Inquiry and SETS models have been widely applied to improve students' scientific literacy skills. However, weaknesses are found such as: students still cannot use their content knowledge to explain scientific phenomena perfectly; and the need for more in-depth inquiry activities so that students' abilities in designing and evaluating scientific investigations obtain excellent results. Therefore, innovation was created to develop the BRADeR learning model based on consideration of the strengths and weaknesses of the inquiry model and SETS as well as theoretical and empirical support. This research serves as a preliminary study in the process of developing the BRADeR model to improve students' scientific literacy skills. This study includes a needs analysis and literature review. The results show that innovation can be maintained as a basis for developing a hypothetical model of the BRADeR learning model. The syntax of the BRADeR model includes: brainstorming, reading, analyzing, decision making, and reflection. The hypothetical model of the BRADeR learning model must be tested to meet the aspects of validity, practicality, and effectiveness to improve the scientific literacy skills of junior high school students.
