A few researchers have tried to find the measurement of the reverberation time of a passenger car. However, this has proved to be extremely difficult because the reverberation time of a passenger car is too short to measure using the traditional bandpass filter. If the reverberation time is very short, the product of the reverberation time ( T) and the bandwidth ( B) of the traditional bandpass filter is very small. The low level of the product BT required for the measurement of the reverberation time using the traditional bandpass filter is 16. In order to overcome this problem, the wavelet filter bank has been developed. In the paper, this new wavelet filter is employed to measure the reverberation times of five different classes of passenger car. The low level of the product BT required for the measurement of reverberation time using the wavelet filter is 4. Therefore, it was possible to measure the reverberation times of five passenger cars successfully using the new wavelet filter bank. It is found that the reverberation times measured in most passenger cars are around 0.04. It is a very short reverberation time compared with those of general acoustic rooms like a concert hall.

The coupled volume concert hall and its signature double sloped sound decay aim to partially reconcile the often-competing qualities of clarity and reverberance. A concert hall is conceived with a fixed geometric volume, form, and aperture size. A coupled volume is attached and its materiality is established as variable. Both statistical and geometric relative analyses suggest a highly sensitive relationship between the coupled volume reverberation time and the double-sloped condition.

With the intention of designing architecture for music and inspired by music, the J.C. Martins Concert Hall was created with 1008 seats and an approximate volume of 49400 ft³. Among all the architectural aspects considered, such as strategic location analyzed from the mass plan, study of volumetries, acoustics is the highlight due to its importance and complexity of the project. The Concert Hall is the object of the present study, the purpose of the article is to compare the simulated results in the EASE software with the analytical results of the reverberation time calculated by the Sabine and Eyering equations for the Concert Hall. Acoustic parameters such as reverberation time, clarity, among others, were simulated to verify the acoustic quality of the room in question. With that, it was possible to analyze and discuss the limitations of the analytical method and the simulations. Even so, the results were satisfactory to reach the adequated indexes of the acoustic parameters.

This study aims at an acoustic design of the classical concert hall and evaluation of the acoustic performance. In terms of three acoustic parameters (i.e., reverberation time (RT), clarity (C80), and lateral fraction (LF)), this study performed acoustic simulation modeling and site measurement with the K Art Hall located in South Korea as a case study. First, in order to meet the acoustic performance of the K Art Hall (target RT: 1.4~1.7 seconds, target C80: -2dB or more +2dB or less, and target LF: 10~35%), the finish materials and shape of the room as an interior acoustic design were determined. Second, the average values of the RT, C80, and LF using the acoustic simulation modeling were estimated at 1.4 second, 1.2~1.6 dB, and 29%, respectively. Third, the average values of the RT, C80, and LF through site measuring were measured at 1.5~1.64 second, 0.07~1.31dB, and 22.22~31.37%, respectively. Thus, the results of both the acoustic simulation modeling and site measuring were analyzed so as to satisfy the target acoustic performance. The results of this study will help the decision-makers (i.e., owner, construction managers, etc.) to plan the classical concert hall in terms of the RT, C80, and LF.

This paper addresses an issue relevant in the first stage of design, namely, the mathematical relationship between the volume of a hall, the size of the audience and the reverberation time required to conform with the hall's acoustical needs. The practical formulae derived from the theory, which is based on the earlier findings of Beranek and Kosten, are very useful for the prediction of the mid frequency reverberation time when the volume and the audience size are known. In addition, these practical formulae may be used in the early design phase to find the optimum hall volume given the audience size and the reverberation time required to conform with the hall's acoustic needs. If the hall under study is not a concert hall but an opera hall, it is necessary to adjust the hall's volume for the absorptive capacity of the audience seated in boxes.

<p>Semakin berkembangnya dunia hiburan semakin banyaknya pembangunan gedung-gedung yang membutuhkan sistem akustik salah satunya adalah gedung Balai Sarbini yang berfungsi sebagai gedung pertunjukan. Terkadang perancang hanya memfokuskan pada tampilan fasade bangunannya saja tanpa memperhatikan kenyamanan pengguna bangunan baik dari segi kenyamanan termal, kenyamanan visual maupun kenyamanan suara. Hal inilah yang terkadang menimbulkan permasalahan terutama permasalahan akustik baik permasalahan pada penerima suara maupun permasalahan pada rancangan arsitekturnya. Dengan demikian perlu diketahui tingkat nilai waktu dengung yang terjadi pada gedung Balai Sarbini. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meninjau dan menganalisis sistem akustik baik dari rancangan, penggunaan material maupun perhitungan <em>Reverberation Time</em> (RT) pada bangunan Balai Sarbini yang kemudian disesuaikan dengan tinjauan teori, persyaratan dan standar perhitungan akustik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif, berupa uraian yang didapat dari data primer yang ada di lapangan dan teori-teori dasar terkait dari beberapa literatur, yang kemudian melakukan pengukuran dan perhitungan waktu dengung Pertunjukan sebagai objek penelitian dimana hasil pengukuran dan perhitungan tersebut akan disesuaikan dengan standar waktu dengung. Hasil penelitian waktu dengung (RT) kondisi eksisting Gedung Balai Sarbini tanpa bantuan elektro akustik adalah 0,6 detik saat kosong penonton, dan 0,72 detik saat penonton penuh (1000 orang). Dengan demikian dapat dinyatakan bahwa kalkulasi waktu dengung/Reverberation Time (RT) untuk gedung Concert Hall, maka gedung Balai Sarbini kurang/belum memenuhi ketentuan umum.</p><p><em> </em></p><p><strong><em>Kata Kunci:</em></strong><em> </em><em>Akustik, gedung balai Sarbini, waktu dengung</em></p><p> </p><p align="center"><strong><em>ABSTRACT</em></strong></p><p align="center"><strong><em> </em></strong></p><p><em>The development world of entertainment the more the construction of buildings that require an acoustic system one of which is the Hall Sarbini that serves as a performance building. Sometimes the designer only focuses on building façade façade alone regardless of the comfort of the building user in terms of thermal comfort, visual comfort and sound comfort. This is what sometimes causes problems especially acoustic problems both the problems on the recipients of the sound and the problems in the design of the architecture. Thus it is necessary to know the level of the time value of the buzz that occurred at Balai Sarbini building. The purpose of this research is to review and analyze the acoustic system from design, material use and Reverberation Time (RT) calculation on Balai Sarbini Hall building which is then adjusted to theoretical review, requirement and standard of acoustic calculation. The research method used is descriptive quantitative, in the form of description obtained from the primary data in the field and related basic theories from several literatures, which then perform the measurement and calculation of the time drone Performance as the object of research where the results of measurements and calculations will be adjusted with standard time drone. The result of research of the buzzer (RT) condition of existing Balai Sarbini Hall without the aid of acoustic electro is 0,6 second when empty of audience, and 0,72 second when the audience is full (1000 people). Thus it can be stated that the calculation of Reverberation Time (RT) for the Concert Hall building, the Balai Sarbini building has not fulfilled the general requirement.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><strong><em>Keywords: </em></strong><em>Acoustics, Hall of Sarbini building, performances, buzzing time</em><em> </em><em></em></p>
