Transfusion monitoring and controlling system of wireless communication is designed for avoidance of medical accident due to inconsiderate care. This system is based on RS-485 bus protocol to build the communication network, consisting of master computer and slave computer. STM32F103R8T6 MCU is the core of the master computer, and MSP430F2132 MCU for slave computer. The wireless transmission of data between master computer and slave computer can be done by nRF905 wireless transceiver module. One new calculation of drop speed is used for better real-time displaying thereof. Provided that abnormal occurrence is during the transfusion, the transfusion tube will be closed by controlling order from system, in order to protect the patient.

The proposed work illustrates a novel technique for cooperative spectrum sensing in a cognitive radio (CR) network. The work includes an approach of identifying secondary users (SUs) based on Hierarchical Maximum Likelihood (HML) technique followed by Vector Quantization. Initially, the arrangement of the SUs are been observed using HML with respect to a spatial domain and then the active SUs among them are identified using VQ. The approach will not only save the energy, but the decision of the real-time and dynamic cooperative communication network becomes more accurate as we can predict the behavior of SUs movement and spectrum sensing by each individual SU at that particular  place. The results and simulations of the real-time experiment justifies with the proposed approach.

With the development of the energy Internet, power communication services are heterogeneous, and different power communication services have different business priorities. The power communication services with different priorities have different requirements for network bandwidth and real-time performance. For traditional unified service, a scheduling method cannot meet these service requirements at the same time, and electric power communication network cannot guarantee the quality of service. Therefore, how to make full use of the time-varying characteristics of communication resources to meet the business needs of different priorities and achieve the goals of high resource utilization and transmission quality has become one of the urgent problems in the power communication network. For this reason, in order to adapt to the real-time congestion of the network, we have designed a packet scheduling method based on the dynamic adjustment of service priority, which dynamically adjusts the priority of the power service on the node; in addition, an evaluation method for the trust value of wireless forwarding nodes is introduced to improve the security of data transmission; and finally, we valuate the channel quality to establish a reasonable and efficient packet scheduling mechanism for services of different priorities. Simulation results show that this method improves the communication performance of high-priority services and improves the spectrum resource utilization of the entire system.

In an electrical distribution network, Logic Selectivity significantly reduces both the number and duration of outages. Generic Object-Oriented Substation Events (GOOSE) have a key role in the decision-making process of substation protection devices using GOOSE-based Logic Selectivity. GOOSE messages are exchanged between remote protection devices over the communication network. Secured communication with low latency and high reliability is therefore required in order to ensure reliable operation as well as meeting real-time requirement of the Logic Selectivity application. There is thus a need to evaluate feasibility of the selected communication network technology for Logic Selectivity use cases. This paper analyzes reliability of cellular 4G/LTE Internet for GOOSE communication in a Logic Selectivity application. For this purpose, experimental lab set-ups are introduced for different configurations: ordinary GOOSE communication, secured GOOSE communication by IPsec in Transport mode, and redundant GOOSE communication using the IEC 62439-3 Parallel Redundancy Protocol. In each configuration, the GOOSE retransmissions are recorded for a period of three days and the average GOOSE transmission time is measured. Furthermore, the measured data is classified into histograms and a probability value for communication reliability, based on the transmission time, is calculated. The statistical analysis shows that 4G Internet satisfies the real-time and reliability requirements for secure and highly available GOOSE-based Logic Selectivity.

End-effector-based robotic systems provide easy-to-set-up motion support in rehabilitation of stroke and spinal-cord-injured patients. However, measurement information is obtained only about the motion of the limb segments to which the systems are attached and not about the adjacent limb segments. We demonstrate in one particular experimental setup that this limitation can be overcome by augmenting an end-effector-based robot with a wearable inertial sensor. Most existing inertial motion tracking approaches rely on a homogeneous magnetic field and thus fail in indoor environments and near ferromagnetic materials and electronic devices. In contrast, we propose a magnetometer-free sensor fusion method. It uses a quaternion-based algorithm to track the heading of a limb segment in real time by combining the gyroscope and accelerometer readings with position measurements of one point along that segment. We apply this method to an upper-limb rehabilitation robotics use case in which the orientation and position of the forearm and elbow are known, and the orientation and position of the upper arm and shoulder are estimated by the proposed method using an inertial sensor worn on the upper arm. Experimental data from five healthy subjects who performed 282 proper executions of a typical rehabilitation motion and 163 executions with compensation motion are evaluated. Using a camera-based system as a ground truth, we demonstrate that the shoulder position and the elbow angle are tracked with median errors around 4 cm and 4°, respectively; and that undesirable compensatory shoulder movements, which were defined as shoulder displacements greater ±10 cm for more than 20% of a motion cycle, are detected and classified 100% correctly across all 445 performed motions. The results indicate that wearable inertial sensors and end-effector-based robots can be combined to provide means for effective rehabilitation therapy with likewise detailed and accurate motion tracking for performance assessment, real-time biofeedback and feedback control of robotic and neuroprosthetic motion support.
