<p>Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are porous coordination polymer containing bi-or polidentate organic linker coordinated with inorganic part, such as metal oxide cluster or metal cation as node which called as secondary building unit (SBU) to form infinite structure. Due to high porosity and surface area, good thermal stability as well as the availability of unsaturated metal center or the linker influence attracts the interaction with gases, thus MOFs have potential to be applied as hydrogen storage material. One type of MOFs that have been widely studied is [Zn<sub>4</sub>O(benzene-1,4-dicarboxylate)<sub>3</sub>], namely, MOF-5.Various synthesis method have been developed to obtain optimum results. Characterization of MOF-5 from various synthesis method such as crystallinity, capacity, stability, and quantum dot behavior of MOF-5 have been summarized in this review.</p>

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are a class of organic–inorganic hybrid materials built from metal-connecting nodes and organic-bridging ligands. They have received much attention in recent years owing to the ability to tune their properties for potential applications in various areas. Properly designed MOFs with uniform, periodically aligned active sites have shown great promise in catalysing shape-, size-, chemo-, regio- and stereo-selective organic transformations. This study reports the synthesis and characterization of two chiral MOFs (CMOFs 1 and 2 ) that are constructed from Mn-salen-derived dicarboxylic acids [salen is ( R , R )- N , N ′-bis(5- tert -butylsalicylidene)-1,2-cyclohexanediamine], bis(4-vinylbenzoic acid)-salen manganese(III) chloride (H 2 L 4 ) or bis(benzoic acid)-salen manganese(III) chloride (H 2 L 3 ) and [Zn 4 (μ 4 -O)(O 2 CR) 6 ] or [Zn 5 (H 2 O) 2 (μ 3 -OH) 2 (O 2 CR) 8 ] secondary building units (SBUs), respectively. The SBUs in CMOF- 1 are connected by the linear ditopic Mn-salen-derived linkers to construct a fourfold interpenetrated isoreticular MOF (IRMOF) structure with pcu topology. In CMOF- 2 , the Mn-salen centres dimerize in a cross-linking way to form a diamondoid structure with threefold interpenetration. CMOF- 1 was examined for highly regio- and stereo-selective tandem alkene epoxidation/epoxide ring-opening reactions by using the Mn-salen andZn 4 (μ 4 -O)(carboxylate) 6 active sites, respectively. Our work demonstrated the potential utility of chiral MOFs with multiple active sites in the efficient synthesis of complex molecules with excellent regio- and stereo-controls

Materials science has seen a great deal of advancement and development. The discovery of new types of materials sparked the study of their properties followed by applications ranging from separation, catalysis, optoelectronics, sensing, drug delivery and biomedicine, and many other uses in different fields of science. Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are a relatively new type of materials with high surface areas and permanent porosity that show great promise for such applications. The current study aims at presenting the recent work achieved in COFs and MOFs for biomedical applications, and to examine some challenges and future directions which the field may take. The paper herein surveys their synthesis, and their use as Drug Delivery Systems (DDS), in non-drug delivery therapeutics and for biosensing and diagnostics.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) offer a unique variety of properties and morphology of the structure that make it possible to extend the performance of existing and design new electrochemical biosensors. High porosity, variable size and morphology, compatibility with common components of electrochemical sensors, and easy combination with bioreceptors make MOFs very attractive for application in the assembly of electrochemical aptasensors. In this review, the progress in the synthesis and application of the MOFs in electrochemical aptasensors are considered with an emphasis on the role of the MOF materials in aptamer immobilization and signal generation. The literature information of the use of MOFs in electrochemical aptasensors is classified in accordance with the nature and role of MOFs and a signal mode. In conclusion, future trends in the application of MOFs in electrochemical aptasensors are briefly discussed.
