Abstract:: Phthalhydrazide immobilized on TiO2-coated nano Fe3O4 (Fe3O4-P) was synthesized and characterized by FT-IR, XRD, SEM, EDS and VSM analysis. The resulting magnetic nanocatalyst was used as a catalyst for the synthesis of chalcone derivatives which affords the desired products in good to excellent yields. This catalyst can be isolated readily after completion of the reaction by an external magnetite field and reused several times without significant loss of activity.

Abstract: A new solid catalyst was synthesized from an ionic liquid and heterogenised by changing anion reaction. The new heterogeneous acidic catalyst was characterized by SEM images, EDS analysis, AFM images, Ft-IR, HNMR, 13CNMR and Mass Spectroscopy. It was applied to synthesis of tri-arylmethanes throughout one-pot tri-component reactions among aromatic aldehydes, N,N-dimethylaniline and other carbonic nucleophiles such as anisole and indole. Hence, synthesis of convenient and inexpensive micro-heterogeneous catalyst was introduced, the efficiency of which was confirmed. Also, various useful products were synthesized throughout this simple and clean procedure.

AbstractNew derivatives were obtained from natural nordentatin (1) previously isolated from the methanol fraction of Clausena excavata by an acylation method. Herein, we report ten new pyranocoumarin derivatives 1a–1j. Their structures were elucidated based on UV-vis, FT-IR, NMR, and DART-MS data. The α-glucosidase inhibition and anticancer activities of nordentatin (1) and its derivatives were also evaluated. The α-glucosidase inhibition assay exhibited that the derivatives 1b, 1d, 1e, 1f, 1h, 1i, and 1j possess higher inhibitory activity for α-glucosidase with IC50 values of 1.54, 9.05, 4.87, 20.25, 12.34, 5.67, and 2.43 mM, whereas acarbose was used as the positive control, IC50 = 7.57 mM. All derivatives exhibited a weak cytotoxicity against a cervical cancer (HeLa) cell line with the IC50 between 0.25 and 1.25 mM. They also showed moderate to low growth inhibition of a breast cancer (T47D) cell line with IC50 values between 0.043 and 1.5 mM, but their activity was lower than that of the parent compound, nordentatin (1) (IC50 = 0.041 mM).

AbstractCrystalline MoO3 nanoparticles were obtained by electrochemical synthesis process using tetrapropylammonium bromide as a stabilizer and structure-directing agent in ACN:THF(4:1) solvent. Formation of MoO3 nanoparticles took place at a constant supply current of 14 mA/cm2. These synthesized MoO3 nanoparticles were characterized by UV-Vis spectroscopy, FT-IR spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM). So prepared MoO3 nanoparticles were used as a heterogeneous catalyst for the synthesis of 2,6-bis(benzylidene)cyclohexanone derivatives. This protocol offers several advantages, such as simple work-up procedure, recyclability of the catalyst, excellent product yield in a short reaction time and purification of products with a non-chromatographic method.

Abstract The aim of this study was the synthesis of three different epoxy compounds based on naphthalene-2,7-diol (2,7-NAF.EP, 2,7-NAF.WEP, 2,7-NAF.P.EP) and then their cross-linking by triethylenetetramine (TETA). All epoxides were prepared by the reaction of naphthalene-2,7-diol with epichlorohydrin but under different conditions and with other catalysts. The structures of the obtained compounds before and after the cross-linking reactions were confirmed by the attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR/FT-IR). The ATR/FT-IR spectra of cross-linked compounds show disappearance of the C–O–C bands (about 915 cm−1) derived from the epoxy groups. DSC and TG/DTG measurements indicated that the obtained materials possess good thermal resistance; they are stable up to about 250 °C. The hardness of the cross-linked products was determined using the Shore D method. The highest value of hardness was obtained for the 2,7-NAF.EP-POL. Additionally, the UV–Vis absorption spectra of the obtained polymers were registered and evaluated.

With an aim to develop more effective and affordable anticancer agents possessing a unique mechanism of action, we designed and synthesized derivatives of spirooxindole-pyrrolidine heterocyclic hybrids in good yields through a one-pot three-component (3+2) cycloaddition strategy. The synthesized compounds were characterized thoroughly for the physicochemical properties by making use of FT-IR, NMR spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry. Further, these compounds have been evaluated for the influence of anticancer activity against HepG2 cells up to 200 µg/mL concentration. The highly active molecular scaffold was tested for the in-depth mechanistic studies, and it was found that the major pathway of cell death is apoptosis which occurs through the induction of reactive oxygen species followed by the involvement of caspases.

In the present work, oxidation of alkenes with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of meso-tetrakis(4-hydroxyphenyl)porphyrinatoiron(III) chloride supported onto surface of functionalized multi-wall carbon nanotubes (FMWCNT), [ Fe ( THPP ) Cl@MWCNT ], is reported. The simple heterogeneous catalyst was characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and also thermal analysis. The amount of the catalyst loaded on the nanotubes was determined by atomic absorption spectroscopy. This heterogeneous catalyst proved to be an efficient and green catalyst and was successfully able to activate hydrogen peroxide without any additive toward the oxidation of alkenes in ethanol as a green solvent. Performance of the catalyst in oxidation of various alkenes was inspected under reflux, ultrasonic irradiation and mechanical stirring. Moreover, the catalyst can be reused several times under similar conditions.

Schiff base derivatives ofN-{(1E)-[3-(mono or di-substituted aryl)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl]methylene{-4-methylpyridin-2-amine were synthesized by the acid catalyzed condensation of 3-(mono- or di- substituted aryl)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde derivatives with 4-methylpyridin-2-amine. Schiff base derivatives were characterized by FT-IR,1H-NMR, Mass spectral analysis and elemental analysis. All the synthesized compounds have been screened for their antimicrobial activities by using broth dilution method.
