The synergistic effect of cyclohexane and cyclohexanone promoted synthesis of adipic acid catalyzed by [MnIIIT(p-Cl)PP]Cl with cyclohexane and cyclohexanone as co-reactants. The results showed that the conversions of cyclohexane and cyclohexanone were significantly enhanced because of the cyclohexanone synergistic effect, and the higher selectivity to adipic acid was obtained with dioxygen as an oxidant. The studies indicated that the co-oxidation of cyclohexane and cyclohexanone was influenced by the initial molar ratio of cyclohexanone and cyclohexane, catalyst structure, catalyst concentrations, and reaction conditions. The preliminary mechanism of the co-oxidation reaction of cyclohexane and cyclohexanone using [MnIIIT(p-Cl)PP]Cl as the catalyst was proposed.

In the process of petroleum exploitation, the annual production of oily sludge in China’s petroleum exploitation industry alone has exceeded one million tons, which causes great harm to the environment. In order to face this problem, a variety of treatment methods have been sprung out, but the most of them are polluting the local soil and groundwater eco-environment. Pyrolysis technology for sludge treatment has several advantages, which have already made it a mainstream approach attracting worldwide attention. In this work, oily sludge from Yanshan Petrochemical Company was processed at the newly developed industrial-scale reactor. The sludge transportation in the whole system was achieved by the use of chain plate conveying, which has the advantages of preventing coking, effective sealing of sludge inlet and outlet, etc. First, lab-scale experiments were carried out at temperatures between 450 °C and 600 °C to obtain the best reaction conditions in the industrial-scale equipment. It was found that the maximum pyrolysis oil yield of 17.1 wt.% was obtained at 500 °C. The properties of oily sludge and related compositional characterization of the products (permanent gas, pyrolysis oil, and pyrolysis char) after the treatment were comprehensively analyzed. The study showed that the oily sludge in the reactor was completely converted, and resource utilization of the feedstock could be realized.

Oligomerization of pent-1-ene is an effective process for synthesis of high-quality environmentally friendly fuel components. Catalytic properties of H-zeolites FAU, OFF, MOR, ВЕА, MTW and MFI were studied for synthesis of pentene oligomers in an autoclave at 110–200 °C. The wide-pore structure of H-Y and H-Beta (18) zeolites and the high concentration of acid sites were established to cause the high oligomerization activity to obtain 97–100 % yields of oligomers. Oligomers obtained over these catalysts comprised, depending on the reaction conditions, 30–73 % dimers, 25–50 % trimers and 2–14 % oligomers with more than three monomer units (n > 3). Fine-pore zeolites (H-ZSM-5) and zeolites with one-dimensional channel systems (H-OFF, H-MOR, H-ZSM-12) were less active to oligomerization of pent-1-ene, decenes being the main reaction products.
