In pH 5.5 PBS buffer, PVP selectively coordinated with Cr(vi), causing PVP-AgNPs aggregation, the solution color changed from bright yellow to orange, and the characteristic absorption peak of PVP–AgNPs at 390 nm lowered, a new peak at 530 nm appeared.

Abstract An attempt was made to synthesize zinc oxide gum white nanoparticles (ZnO-GWNPs) by the greenway approach using Aegle marmelos (Bael fruit) juice extract as a capping and reducing agent. Synthesis of ZnO-GWNPs by greener approach is safer, more economical, more energy-efficient, eco-friendlier, and less toxic than chemically synthesized counterparts. The optical properties of the ZnO-GWNPs were ascertained through UV-Vis spectroscopy, Fourier Transform-Infrared (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), High-resolution transmittance electron microscopy (HRTEM). A characteristic absorption peak at 385nm confirmed the presence of ZnO-GWNP using UV-Vis spectroscopy. FTIR spectrum revealed that the characteristic absorption peak of the Zn-O bond was observed at 467 cm-1. The XRD result for the ZnO showed the tendency of the three most intense diffraction peaks. The average crystallite size ZnO NPs at scattering angle (2θ) 22.89 and 32.15 was 39.14 and 26.08 nm and it showed the presence of miller indices of (100), (002), (101), (102) respectively. The EDX spectrum gave strong signals for zinc and oxygen indicating the occurrence of the nanoparticles in their oxide form rather than the pure zinc form. The SEM image showed the surface morphology of ZnO-GW NPs and the HR-TEM image showed the crystalline nature of ZnO-GW NPs. Cytotoxicity study of ZnO-GW NPs was determined against MCF-7 cell lines and the IC50 values were found to be 40 µg/mL and 60 µg/mL at 24 h and 48 h respectively.

The cellulose micro/nano fibrils of Vetier (Vetiveria zizanioides) were isolated by high intensity ultrasonication in this paper. The basic properties of micro/nano fibrils were evaluated by WAXD and FTIR. The results showed that the relative crystallinity decreased when treated by high intensity ultrasonication. The characteristic absorption peak moved to higher wave number and the type of group increased with increasing the vibration of ultrasonication. The characteristic absorption peak moved to higher wave number with increasing treated time, however, the effect was insignificant.

A new method has been proposed to realize the visual detection of Cr 3+ using 4-nitrobenzenethiol (4-NBT) and 4-mercaptobenzoic acid (4-MBA) modified silver nanoparticles ( AgNPs ). The presence of Cr 3+ induces the aggregation of AgNPs through cooperative metal–ligand interaction, resulting in a color change from bright yellow to purple. Consequently, Cr 3+ could be monitored by colorimetric response of AgNPs by a UV-Vis spectrophotometer or even naked eyes. We firstly used ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA) as a masking agent to selectively detect Cr 3+, and other metal ions have little influence on the Cr 3+– AgNPs system. The cofunctionalized AgNPs exhibited a highly sensitive detection limit of Cr 3+, which is as low as 5 × 10-9 mol L-1, and the absorbance ratio (A600nm/A387nm) is linear with the concentration of Cr 3+ ranging from 5 × 10-9 mol L-1 to 2 × 10-6 mol L-1 with a coefficient of 0.993. Particularly, the sensor has been further evaluated to monitor the concentration of Cr 3+ in drinking water, the recovery was in good agreement with those obtained by ICP-MS, indicating that this proposed method is successfully applied in real samples.

As we known frying oil belongs to waste oils when it has been excessive used, long time usage also cause serious effect. This paper chooses dragon fish oil which was fried 10 times excessively. We can extract the characteristic in absorption peak (323.391.443nm) of spectral absorption value as the dependent variable. Then build the interval partial least square model, Through the MATLAB, we can extract the optimum interval is 5 and the best factor of wavelength range is 7. Prediction of correlation coefficient for R is 0.998. By the cross validation verification Q22=-0.3461<0.0975, we can get the establishment of PLS equation as Y1, Y2, Y3. The model which we build can predict the content situation of characteristic absorption peak in frying oil effectively.

We report on the green synthesis of silver nanoparticles utilizing theP.purpureumleaf extract. Controlling the surface plasmon absorption of silver nanoparticles was achieved by regulating the amount of extract concentration and the molarity of silver nitrate solution. The surface plasmon absorption peak is found at around 430nm. The surface plasmon absorption peak have shifted to lower wavelength as the amount of extract is increased, while plasmon absorption peak shifts on a higher wavelength as the concentration of silver nitrate is increased before it stabilized at 430nm. This can be explained in terms of the available nucleation sites promoted by the plant extract as well as the available silver ions present in silver nitrate solution.
