For the first time, lead acetate was introduced as the lead source to improve the perovskite film morphology on highly curved surfaces. The resulting fiber-shaped perovskite solar cells achieved a PCE of 7.53%.

A perovskite solar cell is produced using the scalable technique aerosol-assisted chemical vapour deposition for the first time. This is achieved by using a 2-step process with lead acetate as the lead source and methanol as the solvent.

Vacuum-assisted thermal annealing not only could improve film morphology and crystallinity, but also could accelerate the sublimation of undesired MACl. With the help of this process, we obtain a highly efficient low-bandgap CH3NH3Sn0.5Pb0.5IxCl3−x perovskite solar cell with a power conversion efficiency of 12.3%.

Hot-pressing is introduced to the fabrication of perovskite solar cells for the first time. The resulting smooth and compact CH3NH3PbI3 film can improve the performance of both HTM-free and HTM-contained solar cells.
