Homopolymer of n-butyl acrylate and styrene/n-butyl acrylate copolymers, where n-butyl acrylate units are linked to the trithiocarbonate group, are more thermally stable as compared with homopolymer of styrene and similar copolymers containing styrene units linked to this group.

The propensity of aviation turbine fuels to produce deposits in the oil-cooler and filter sections of aircraft fuel systems has been examined using a rig that simulates the fuel system of an aircraft and which employs realistic flow rates. All the fuels examined were found to be thermally stable up to temperatures in excess of those currently attained in engine oil coolers. Comparison with results obtained with the JFTOT indicates that this is not suited for use as a research tool.

AbstractThe control of thermal stability of polyaniline (PANI) nanofibers is reported by systematically varying the loadings of CaO in the range from 0.005 g to 1.0 g. It was found to gradually increase the yield of synthesized PANI nanofibers with the increase of CaO addition. The highest yield, 1.103 g was obtained for 1.00 g loading of CaO. The incorporation of CaO into PANI matrix was revealed by energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) data showed that the thermal stability of PANI nanofibers was greatly improved when CaO was added to the system. 1.00 g loading of CaO is favorable to obtain comparatively more thermally stable PANI. The degradation of PANI chains started at 330 °C for the PANI-CaO composites obtained at 1.00 g CaO addition, which is the highest temperature compared to PANI and the samples synthesized at other amount of CaO loadings. Furthermore, the increasing trend of thermal stability was observed with the increasing of CaO loading.

3′-O-(2-Thio-1,3,2-oxathiaphospholane) derivatives of 5′-O-DMT-LNA-nucleosides were used to prepare P-stereodefined (RP-PS)-DNA#LNA chimeras, which form thermally stable parallel complexes with (2′-OMe)-RNA matrices.

ABSTRACTElectrical measurements and Rutherford backscattering have been used to evaluate the thermal stability of single crystal and polycrystalline Si films that were ion implanted and laser annealed. The films were implanted with 75As or 31p and annealed with either a pulsed ruby, a pulsed Nd:YAG or a CWAr+ laser. The samples were then thermally annealed at temperatures between 450 and 900°C. The single crystal samples implanted with arsenic below 1 × 10-15 cm−2 were thermally stable. For higher doses the electrical concentration reaches a minimum at 800°C. The same trends are observed in the polysilicon films for sufficiently high doping levels. RBS shows that As is precipitating at 700°C in single crystal material and has begun to go back into solution at 900°C for concentrations of ∼7 × 1020 cm−3. Similar trends are observed for 31P implanted samples.

Abstract (1) Networks containing mainly monosuifidic crosslinks at methylene sites in the polyisoprene chains of natural rubber are expected to be more thermally stable than existing efficiently vulcanized networks. (2) Certain zinc-accelerator species promote the decomposition of crosslinks at high temperatures, but may be deactivated by complexation with zinc stearate (which is formed from stearic acid during vulcanization).

Abstract Hydroxyalkyl derivatives containing oxamidoester and oxamide fragments have been separately obtained using oxamic acid, oxamide and alkylene carbonates. It has been proven that the presence of oxamidoester and oxamide structural fragments in oligomer structures is responsible for the thermal stability of these products. Rigid, thermally stable polyurethane foams were obtained with the use of oligomers with oxamidoestercarbamidoimide, carbamide, oxamidoester and oxamide groups as polyols components. The properties of these foamed materials were compared with each other and with the properties of reference foams. It was found that the polyurethane foams characterized by the best properties were obtained from hydroxypropyl derivatives of oxamide.

A set of Benzorod arrays on a graphene substrate has been investigated by performing classical molecular-dynamics simulations. Benzorod is composed of aligned and dehydrogenated benzene rings that are stacked to form a rod-like structure. It has been found that the arrays considered are thermally stable up to elevated temperatures, with a dependence on length.
