The future photovoltaic technologies based on perovskite materials are aimed to build low tech, truly economical, easily fabricated, broadly deployable, and trustworthy solar cells. Hole transport material (HTM) free perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are among the most likely architectures which hold a distinctive design and provide a simple way to produce large-area and cost-effective manufacture of PSCs. Notably, in the monolithic scheme of the HTM-free PSCs, all layers can be printed using highly reproducible and morphology-controlled methods, and this design has successfully been demonstrated for industrial-scale fabrication. In this review article, we comprehensively describe the recent advancements in the different types of mesoporous (nanostructured) and planar HTM-free PSCs. In addition, the effect of various nanostructures and mesoporous layers on their performance is discussed using the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) technique. We bring together the different perspectives that researchers have developed to interpret and analyze the EIS data of the HTM-free PSCs. Their analysis using the EIS tool, the limitations of these studies, and the future work directions to overcome these limitations to enhance the performance of HTM-free PSCs are comprehensively considered.

Purpose: The development of an electric impedance meter based on the impedance spectroscopy technique, for in vitro and in situ experimentation, with cellular epithelia submitted to extremely low frequency magnetic fields in a controlled environment. Unlike other reported systems, a strength of the one presented here is that it avoids the influence of external factors on the experiment. Materials and methods: The designed system employs the electrical impedance values obtained by the impedance spectroscopy technique to determine the parameters of the simple equivalent electrical model of a cellular monolayer. The Madin-Darby Canine Kidney (MDCK) cell cultures were used as subjects of study in the experimental protocol. Results: The validation was carried out by comparing the transepithelial electrical impedance data of the cell cultures obtained with the developed system and those of the Cellzscope® commercial system used as the standard. Non-significant differences were obtained. Conclusion: It was confirmed that the developed system provides reliable values of transepithelial electrical impedance to experiment with cell cultures and take advantage of the controlled environment to reduce the effects of experimental management.

<p>The electron and hole selective contact (SC) play a pivotal role in the performance of perovskite solar cells. In order to separate the interfacial phenomenon from bulk, the influence of charge SC was elucidated, by means of impedance spectroscopy. The specific role played by TiO2 and <i>Spiro-OMeTAD</i> as electron and hole SC in perovskite solar cells was investigated at short circuit condition at different temperatures. We have probed MAPbI3 and (FAPbI3)0.85(MAPbBr3)0.15 and elucidated parameters such as charge carrier mobility, recombination resistance, time constant and charge carrier kinetics in perovskite layer and at the interface of perovskite/SC. Charge carrier mobility in mixed perovskite was found to be nearly two order of magnitude higher as compared to MAPbI3. Moreover, the carrier mobility in devices with only electron SC was found to be higher as compared only hole SC. The charge accumulation at TiO2/perovskite/<i>Spiro</i>-OMeTAD interfaces were studied via frequency dependent capacitance, revealing higher charge accumulation at perovskite/S<i>piro</i>-OMeTAD than at TiO2/perovskite interface. By performing varying temperature frequency dependent capacitance measurements the distribution of density of state within the bandgap of the perovskites, the emission rate of electrons from the trap states and traps activation energy was determined. </p>

ABSTRACTTo better understand the condition of commercial batteries used in Tesla EVs and stationary applications under real performing situations, this article focuses on tracking the temperature of commercial batteries during varying cycling conditions. We have found evidence of significant impact of cycling methods on batteries in ionic conductivity, inner impedance development, and structural change in both cathode and anode electrodes, which will be further analyzed by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy technique in the following research.
