Abstract CERROTRU Alloy is a bismuth-base eutectic alloy that melts at 281 F (138 C). It has the highest melting point of the bismuth-base alloys commonly used in industry. It provides production engineers with an easily castable material that is ready for use soon after it freezes. The alloy can be recovered easily and recycled into new uses any number of times. Cerrotru alloy has many uses including anchoring, molds for plastics, filler for tube bending and liquid metal in heat treating. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties. It also includes information on casting, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: Bi-15. Producer or source: Cerro Metal Products.

Abstract Wieland Duro Tungsten is unalloyed tungsten produced from pressed-and-sintered billets. The high melting point of tungsten makes it an obvious choice for structural applications exposed to very high temperatures. Tungsten is used at lower temperatures for applications that can benefit from its high density, high modulus of elasticity, or radiation shielding capability. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on machining. Filing Code: W-34. Producer or source: Wieland Duro GmbH.

Abstract INDALLOY 117 is a bismuth-base, eutectic alloy that has a melting point of 117 F (47 C). Because of its low melting temperature and controlled-shrinkage characteristics, it is used widely in industry. The alloy can be recovered easily and recycled into new uses any number of times. Its many uses include low-temperature solder, proof casting, fusible elements in safety devices and model railroading. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties. It also includes information on casting, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: Bi-26. Producer or source: Indium Corporation of America.

Abstract Sterling Silver (Silversmiths grade) contains a minimum of 92.50% silver; the standard grade contains a minimum of 92.10% silver. Historically the remainder was unrestricted but copper was (and is) used because it is more desirable, in general, than other metals. Also, copper is a more effective hardener than other metals that have been considered; however, copper lowers the melting point substantially and lowers the electrical and thermal conductivities appreciably. Sterling Silver is used for flat and hollow tableware, various items of jewelry and special industrial applications. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as casting, forming, heat treating, and joining. Filing Code: Ag-11. Producer or source: Precious Metals Producers.

Abstract UGIMA NSU and UGIMA 303 are the same grades designated differently for the European and North American markets, respectively. They are resulfurized grades with calcium added. Carefully controlled steelmaking results in a composition with oxides that have a low melting point and produce a lubricating effect during machining. Gains in the cutting conditions of 25 to 50% are typical on computer numerical control (CNC) lathe or classical machine work. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-709. Producer or source: Ugine-Savoie. Originally published March 1998, revised September 1998.

Abstract Climelt Molybdenum-30% W was designed mainly for ultra-high temperature service where a higher melting point than molybdenum metal is needed. It has also found applications in handling molten zinc because of its high corrosion resistance to this corrosive medium. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as creep. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Mo-4. Producer or source: Climax Molybdenum Company of Michigan Inc..
