This article discusses three key questions, namely, first, what and how is the development of policies and legal umbrella that can support the Central Government in the implementation of the Aceh TRC? Second, how can the institutional institution of the Aceh TRC and the Human Rights Court as a mechanism of justice strengthen mutual protection of human rights for victims and their families? Third, how to build strong legal relations between state institutions to strengthen the TRC's recommendations regarding reparations? Produced from a research process and focus group discussion, this article encourages a number of legal policy developments that are oriented as a solution to the limited efforts to protect and fulfill victims, especially in relation to reparations and restoration of their rights. Also, emphasizing the legal position of the basic national legal political context is re-associated as a reminder of the marwah of the Helsinki MOU for the future of Aceh. Abstrak: Artikel ini mendiskusikan tiga pertanyaan kunci, yakni pertama, apa dan bagaimana pengembangan kebijakan dan payung hukum yang dapat menjadi dukungan Pemerintah Pusat terhadap pemberlakuan KKR Aceh? Kedua, bagaimana secara institusional kelembagaan KKR Aceh dan Pengadilan HAM sebagai mekanisme keadilan dapat saling memperkuat perlindungan HAM bagi korban dan keluarganya? Ketiga, bagaimana membangun relasi hukum yang kuat antar Lembaga negara untuk memperkuat rekomendasi KKR terkait reparasi? Dihasilkan dari proses riset dan diskusi grup terarah, artikel ini mendorong sejumlah pengembangan kebijakan hukum yang diorientasikan sebagai jalan keluar atas terbatasnya upaya perlindungan dan pemenuhan bagi korban, terutama terkait reparasi dan pemulihan hak-haknya. Serta, menegaskan posisi hukum atas konteks politik hukum nasional yang mendasar dikaitkan kembali sebagai pengingat marwah MOU Helsinki bagi masa depan Aceh. Cross language research typically ignores the role the translator and translation play in the research process. This paper adds to the literature by examining some of the challenges experienced during the translation and interpretation aspect of research. This autoethnography explores the positionality of a non-native user of American Sign Language who conducted research with native American Sign Language users. Findings indicate that translation and interpretation in research is not simply a matter of rote process and deserves more attention as an integral aspect of cross-language research.

A non-exclusive approach in conducting survey-based research which assumes the participation of people with disabilities is one of the important ethical aspects of the research process. The use of the tool, which has been designed in accordance with the universal user-oriented design, makes it possible for people with disabilities to take an active part in surveys. This means that they can present their attitudes and express opinions within the conducted surveys. The aim of the article is to present the issue of conducting surveys using an electronic questionnaire among deaf people, modelled on the Avatar PJM project. People with a hearing impairment, whose first or primary language used for communication is a sign language, should be given a questionnaire in an appropriate form enabling them to complete it easily. The discussed project presents a proposal to construct a questionnaire using the LimeSurvey software. The questionnaire has been adapted to the needs and expectations of the recipient group. The presented solution for designing a user-friendly research tool can be used in other types of research in this group of respondents (e.g. industrial or educational research) or can become an inspiration for further research in this field.

Oroo’ is a language of nomadic Penans in the rainforests of Borneo and the only way of asynchronous communication between nomadic groups in the forest journey. Like many other indigenous languages, the Oroo’ language is also facing imminent extinction. In this paper, we present the research process and reflections of a multidisciplinary community-based research project on digitalizing and preserving the Oroo’ sign language. As a methodology for project activities, we are employing Participatory Action Research in Software Development Methodology Augmentation (PRISMA). Preliminary results show a general interest in digital contents and a positive impact of the project activities. In this paper, we present scenario of a research project that is retooled to fit the need of communities, informing language revitalization efforts and assisting with the evolution of community-based research design.

America's population is more diverse than ever before. The prevalence of students who are culturally and/or linguistically diverse (CLD) has been steadily increasing over the past decade. The changes in America's demographics require teachers who provide services to students with deafblindness to have an increased awareness of different cultures and diversity in today's classrooms, particularly regarding communication choices. Children who are deafblind may use spoken language with appropriate amplification, sign language or modified sign language, and/or some form of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).

The paper presents an inside evaluation of the EuroPsyT project, funded by the EU Leonardo Program in 1999-2001. While standard research usually neglects to reflect on the internal and external constraints and opportunities under which research results are achieved, the paper stresses exactly those aspects: starting from a brief description of the overall objectives of the 11 countries project, the paper proceeds to describe the macro-context and the internal strengths and weaknesses of the project team, the internal procedures of cooperation,. and obstacles encountered during the research process. It winds up in noting some of the project's achievements and with a look towards future research.
