The ionization constant of liquid D2O has been measured over the temperature range 298 to 523 K using an aqueous electrolyte concentration cell. Values for the standard free energy, enthalpy, entropy, and heat capacity of ionization have been calculated. The results are compared to similar results for liquid H2O

The velocity of sound in liquid CF4 has been measured in the temperature range from its triple point to its normal boiling point. Measurements have been made with an ultrasonic interferometer, consisting of barium titanate ceramic in tubular form, to an accuracy of 0.4% or better. The adiabatic compressibility has also been calculated for the corresponding temperature range using available density data. No other velocity of sound or compressibility data for CF4 are available for comparison. Comparisons with other liquids by the method of corresponding states show similarity between CF4 and CCl4, but not between CF4 and methane or argon.

The temperature dependance of adiabatic compressibility minimum (TACM), sound velocity maximum (TSVM), and specific acoustic impedance (TSAIM) of water–cyclohexanone mixture has been studied by experimentally determining the sound velocity in and density of aqueous solution at different concentrations over a temperature range 36–77 °C. The structural contribution to the shift in TACM, TSVM, and TSAIM has been evaluated. The shifts are negative and increase with concentration. The results indicate that cyclohexanone behaves as a structure breaker at higher temperature.

The density and the velocity of sound of liquid Li-Pb alloys have been measured in the composition ranges 0 - 17, 30 - 100 at % Pb and 0-10, 40 - 100 at % Pb, respectively. The temperature dependence of these properties has been determined for each sample in a temperature range of at least 130 K. The excess volume is negative and has a minimum at about 20at%Pb, where the volume per atom at 800 °C is about 19% smaller than the volume of an ideal solution. The absolute value of the excess volume rises with the temperature, as does the absolute value of the deviation of the adiabatic compressibility from the mean compressibility.
