A versatile process employing anionic surfactants has been developed for the preparation of processible nanocomposite films with electrical conductivity and magnetic susceptibility. Maghemite (γFe2O3) nanoclusters (~10 nm in size) are coated with 4-dodecyl-benzenesulfonic acid, and polyaniline (PAn) chains are doped with 10-camphorsulfonic acid. The coated nanoclusters and doped polymers are soluble in common solvents, and casting the solutions readily gives free-standing nanocomposite films with nanocluster contents as high as ~50 wt %. The γFe2O3/PAn nanocomposites show high conductivity (82–237 S cm -1 ) and magnetizability (up to ~35 emu/g γFe2O3).

Soil spatial variability mapping allows the delimitation of the number of soil samples investigated to describe agricultural areas; it is crucial in precision agriculture. Electrical soil parameters are promising factors for the delimitation of management zones. One of the soil parameters that affects yield is soil compaction. The objective of this work was to indicate electrical parameters useful for the delimitation of management zones connected with soil compaction. For this purpose, the measurement of apparent soil electrical conductivity and magnetic susceptibility was conducted at two depths: 0.5 and 1 m. Soil compaction was measured for a soil layer at 0–0.5 m. Relationships between electrical soil parameters and soil compaction were modelled with the use of two types of neural networks—multilayer perceptron (MLP) and radial basis function (RBF). Better prediction quality was observed for RBF models. It can be stated that in the mathematical model, the apparent soil electrical conductivity affects soil compaction significantly more than magnetic susceptibility. However, magnetic susceptibility gives additional information about soil properties, and therefore, both electrical parameters should be used simultaneously for the delimitation of management zones.

Solid solutions Bi2Te3-Sb2Te3 continue to be the subject of numerous and versatile experimental studies due to their practical importance for thermoelectric materials science. In this regard, the problem of studying the regularities of changes in the state of the electronic system of these semiconductors from composition and temperature remains urgent. This paper presents the results of studying the temperature dependences of the magnetic susceptibility of Bi2Te3-Sb2Te3 crystals containing 10, 25, 40, 50, 60 mol. % Sb2Te3. The correlation of the behavior of the temperature dependences of the magnetic susceptibility and electrical conductivity is analyzed.

The metallacycles [Cl3MS2N3]2 (M = Mo, W) 1a and 2a have been obtained from reactions of S4N4 with Mo2Cl10 and WCl6, respectively, and from S3N3Cl3 with the hexacarbonyls M(CO)6. The adducts Cl3MS2N3 · CH3CN 1b and 2b are formed with acetonitrile, and the salts [Ph4As+][Cl4MS2N3-] 1c and 2c with addition of Ph4AsCl. Reactions of Mo2Cl10 and WCl6, respectively, with related S -N com pounds lead predominantly to 1a and 2a; Mo2Cl10 reacts with S3N2Cl2 to give 1a , and with [Me3SiN]2S to give [Cl3MoN]x, while WCl6 yields Cl4WNSCl with S3N2Cl2, and 2a with [Me3SiN]2S. [Cl3MoN ]x does not react with S4N4, but [Cl3WN]x forms 2a. Reactions of VCl4 and VOCl3 with [Me3SiN]2S give [Cl2V S2N3]x, 3. 2c has also been obtained by the reaction of [Ph4As+][Cl5WNSCL-] with [Me3SiN]2S. The oxidation states of the metal atoms are +6 for 1a-c and 2a-c, and +5 for 3, respectively; as determined by 51V and 95Mo NMR spectroscopy and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The UV/VIS spectra of 1b , 1c , 2b, c and 3 are discussed. The electrical conductivity of 3 is reported.
