The properties of gold-based materials have been explored for centuries in several research fields, including medicine. Multiple published production methods for gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) have shown that the physicochemical and optical properties of AuNPs depend on the production method used. These different AuNP properties have allowed exploration of their usefulness in countless distinct biomedical applications over the last few years. Here we present an extensive overview of the most commonly used AuNP production methods, the resulting distinct properties of the AuNPs and the potential application of these AuNPs in diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in biomedicine.

Lead-free ferroelectric materials have attracted considerable attention due to the increasing potential application in environmental benign materials. Among lead-free ferroelectric materials, the Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3 (BNT) materials were more studied because it exhibited the good ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties which could be promising candidate materials replacing Pb(Zr,Ti)O3. In this work, the lead-free ferroelectric BNT materials were synthesized by sol-gel method. The effects of fabrication process to microstructural and optical properties were studied which includes Na precursor concentration and calcining temperature. The result indicated that the Na precursor concentration were higher 40 mol.% and the calcining temperatures

Recently, the two-dimensional molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) materials have attracted much interest owing to its potential application in optoelectronics and catalyze. In this paper, nano-MoS2was prepared via a hydrothermal method through changing the pH value of the precursor solution. The structure and optical properties are systematically studied. The results indicate that laminated MoS2structure is obtained. The pH value of precursor solution affects the laminated structure. The strong absorption in ultraviolet range and blue emission are observed in the prepared MoS2structures. The photocatalytic properties of MoS2by degrading Rhodamine B under ultraviolet light were observed.
