OBJECTIVES/GOALS: The RPPR Tool was created to accurately and systematically track our CTSA’s overall program goals and core’s progress in real time. It establishes and centralizes the continuous collection of key performance indicators and fosters accountability and transparency among cores and leadership. METHODS/STUDY POPULATION: Using the University of Chicago’s Annual Progress Report REDCap data dictionary, UI Institute for Clinical and Translational Science (ICTS) core managers convened to explore the adaptability of the reporting format for the CTSA. The team developed the more user friendly and easily accessible RPPR Reporting Tool using REDCap to better fit our CTSA. The RPPR in REDCap provides a central location to monitor the activities for each core, gather status updates, generate performance reports, and identify key performance indicators and challenges to prevent failures in the future. All data are transparent and accessible on-demand to individual core managers, evaluators, and ICTS leadership. RESULTS/ANTICIPATED RESULTS: UI’s RPPR Tool has improved the compliance with ongoing monitoring and reporting of CTSA program’s performance. Documenting all relevant information in a centralized space has eased the administrative and evaluation burden of preparing the RPPR. Furthermore, REDCap as a commonly used tool allows the core managers to complete this reporting with minimal guidance. This tool encourages each core to be accountable for documenting their respective progress. The transparency of the reporting allows the Co-PIs along with the leadership team to access the data at any given time to stay updated on the ICTS’ overall progress and to make the appropriate improvements as needed. DISCUSSION/SIGNIFICANCE OF IMPACT: The RPPR is a required component of all CTSA grants. UI’s RPPR Tool has been instrumental in comprehensively tracking progress of the ICTS and its contributions to translational research. UI is collaborating with CTSA peers to improve the RPPR Tool, so it can become an asset for any CTSA to adapt.

<p><strong>Background.</strong> The increase in crime is a problem of great concern in South Africa and complications arise when the accused is mentally ill.</p><p><strong>Objective.</strong> Analysis of the offenders referred to the Free State Psychiatric Complex from 1995 to 2001 according to section 77 (triability) and/or section 78 (accountability) of the Criminal Procedures Act (Act 51 of 1977).</p><p><strong>Method.</strong> The study population consisted of 514 persons awaiting trial in the Free State. They were referred to the Free State Psychiatric Complex for 30 days’ observation from 1995 to 2001. A data form was created and used to transfer the relevant information from the accused’s clinical files.</p><p><strong>Data analysis.</strong> The data collected were analysed by the Department of Biostatistics at the University of the Free State.</p><p><strong>Results.</strong> The majority of the offenders were male (94.6%) and unmarried (66.3%). The median age of the group was 30 years. The unemployment rate was 60%. Most of the referrals (84.2%) were in terms of sections 77 and 78. The accused were found to have mainly average intelligence (75.3%). The main offences were theft (27.8%), murder (18.9%), assault (18.1%) and rape (16.2%). The most common mental disorder diagnosed was schizophrenia (23.0%), with 54.3% having no mental disorder. Nearly half the offenders (48.6%) were found to be triable and accountable.</p><p><strong>Conclusion.</strong> The majority of the offenders referred for psychiatric observation were found to have no mental illness and were referred back to the courts. This results in high costs for the Department of Health. To reduce the high rate of unnecessary referrals it is recommended that courts give clear reasons for the referrals according to each section (77 and 78).</p>

For the time being, companies and organisations are being forced to compete in utterly complex and globalised environments, facing massive natural, economic, and technological challenges on a daily basis. Addressing these challenges would be impossible without a proper approach that helps them identify, measure, understand, and control the performance of their organisations. Lean principles and techniques rise as a solution. This paper justifies and proposes the use of lean principles and techniques to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) in project-based organisations based on their organisational and operational needs. The research focuses mainly on the identification and categorisation of KPIs through a qualitative approach, based on systematic literature review (SLR) of performance indicators, project management, and project success. As a case study, an analysis of relevant information of an R&D and innovation project-based organisation, such as quality manuals, a benchmarking process, internal studies, and surveys regarding what success means for different kinds of stakeholders and for the organisation itself was conducted. As a result, this research is of a high value for project-based organisations, especially those that are not apprised of how to correctly formulate a series of KPIs, or whose path to it is still not clear.

Objective: Examine the evolution of publications on the lifestyle risk behaviors of university students. Methods: Bibliometric research was carried out on using 9011  articles retrieved from the SciELO and Web of Science database. The analyses included, the trend of the production, the most productive countries, journals, institutions, and the relevant information was extracted based on frequency of co-occurrence of keywords between 2009 and 2019 using the bibliometric software, namely VantagePoint, VOSviewer, NetDraw and UCINET. Results: The study revealed a significant concentration of publications between 2014 and 2018 in North American countries, especially the United States. However, the most productive institution was the University of São Paulo (Brazil). Stress, physical inactivity, obesity, and smoking were the risk behaviors most used as keywords in the articles, and these have a strong relationship with other keywords subsets related to mental health, forms of treatment, the study population and lifestyle behaviors. Conclusion: The scientific map of lifestyle risk behaviors among university students was supported by exhaustive research. It was possible by the establishment of research networks between the various centers of knowledge production, especially with the American researchers.

Organizations are facing an uncertain scenario due to business dynamics and the evolution of their technical terminology to adapt to new ways of competing in the environment, which requires assertive indicators to ensure permanence and success in the medium and long term of any company. Through the use of KPIs, organizations have the opportunity to analyze and monitor relevant information from their company to make the operations of a company's sales area more efficient. The objective of this study is to propose a set of key performance indicators (KPI's) that allow the performance of a company dedicated to the activity of commercialization and manufacture and import of cleaning products to be measured, which is analyzed using the monetary variables of units or percentages. For the development of the investigation, Microsoft SQL Server was used as technological tools for the creation of the data model, and for the design, construction and analysis of the KPIs, the BSC Designer tool was used.

Purpose The French academic libraries directors association (ADBU) launched and updated a European comparative study on Key Performance Indicators (KPI) in Academic Libraries over the 2013–2017 period. The purpose of this paper is to briefly present the ADBU initiative; its main focus is how to use these figures to ground decision making process, notably so as to better assess the contribution of libraries in student success or research performance. Design/methodology/approach As universities and academic libraries are facing research evolutions and teaching/learning new models, a strong increase in students’ number is observed everywhere in Europe. This trend will most probably continue in the coming years and the pressure on academic libraries will grow. That is why the French ADBU took the initiative to launch a European comparative study on key and performance indicators in Academic Libraries over the 2013–2016 period. Data were updated in 2019, covering 2017 figures and including additional countries. Findings Thanks to the European partners and the help of a consultant firm, the first observations were updated with the 2017 figures and the country scope grew broader. Libraries buildings and equipment, space and seats per student, opening days and hours, frequentation rate, library services, users training, staff per student/documentary budgets/total expenditure, staff training, documentation loans/consultation/downloads: these KPI are gathered and can be compared in both relative and absolute value. Originality/value The ADBU initiative is unique, results are widely shared.

SQL Server Reporting Services is a way to analyze data, create reports using the indicators and gauges. Indicators are minimal gauges that convey the state of a single data value at a glance, and most are used to represent the state of Key Performance Indicators. Manage and harmonize the performance of an institution's educational institutions, especially universities with the performance of individuals or resources, no doubt is one of the essential elements for the success of an entity of the institution. Integrate the performance of an educational institution with individual performance is not an easy process, and therefore required a systematic approach to manage it. Implementation of a strategic management system based Balanced Scorecard can be used as a performance measurement system that will continuously monitor the successful implementation of the strategy of any public educational institution and measure the performance of its resources in a comprehensive and balanced, not the quantity but the emphasis is more concerned with the quality, so the performance of educational institutions at any time can be known clearly. Contribution of Key Performance Indicators to manage and harmonize the performance of any public institution is a solution in providing information to realize the extent of work that has set targets, identify and monitor measures of success, of course, with performance indicators show a clear, specific and measurable.
