AbstractWith the advent of commercially available digital cameras in the late 1990s resulting in the near-exclusion of analog photographic prints today, most archaeological repositories around the world have a mix of analog and digital photographic prints. That ratio is increasingly moving toward digital print processes, of which there are several types. To minimize the loss of image quality, collection managers must become familiar with the unique curation challenges of photographic prints from digitally created images. Likewise, creators of digital content must be aware that choices made when selecting a print process for reposit will have a direct effect on image and print permanence. Site photographs are critical evidence of archaeological activity, and so the preservation of digital prints is in the interest, and is the responsibility, of collection managers and archaeologists alike.

Image quality assessment has been a very active research area in the field of image processing, and there have been numerous methods proposed. However, most of the existing methods focus on digital images that only or mainly contain pictures or photos taken by digital cameras. Traditional approaches evaluate an input image as a whole and try to estimate a quality score for the image, in order to give viewers an idea of how “good” the image looks. In this paper, we mainly focus on the quality evaluation of contents of symbols like texts, bar-codes, QR-codes, lines, and hand-writings in target images. Estimating a quality score for this kind of information can be based on whether or not it is readable by a human, or recognizable by a decoder. Moreover, we mainly study the viewing quality of the scanned document of a printed image. For this purpose, we propose a novel image quality assessment algorithm that is able to determine the readability of a scanned document or regions in a scanned document. Experimental results on some testing images demonstrate the effectiveness of our method.

Virtual Influencers (VIs) are computer-generated characters, many of which are often visually indistinguishable from humans and interact with the world in the first-person perspective as social media influencers. They are gaining popularity by creating content in various areas, including fashion, music, art, sports, games, environmental sustainability, and mental health. Marketing firms and brands increasingly use them to capitalise on their millions of followers. Yet, little is known about what prompts people to engage with these digital beings. In this paper, we present our interview study with online users who followed different VIs on Instagram beyond the fashion application domain. Our findings show that the followers are attracted to VIs due to a unique mixture of visual appeal, sense of mystery, and creative storytelling that sets VI content apart from that of real human influencers. Specifically, VI content enables digital artists and content creators by removing the constraints of bodies and physical features. The followers not only perceived VIs' rising popularity in commercial industries, but also are supportive of VI involvement in non-commercial causes and campaigns. However, followers are reluctant to attribute trustworthiness to VIs in general though they display trust in limited domains, e.g., technology, music, games, and art. This research highlights VI's potential as innovative digital content, carrying influence and employing more varied creators, an appeal that could be harnessed by diverse industries and also by public interest organisations.

The world is hungry for knowledge and quickly-producing researchers of varying caliber who are less dependent on the physical space than ever before. This presents a number of challenges to librarians, out of which issues related to technology stand out prominently. How can the library pave roads to curated digital content and make it easily accessible from any location? How does it remain relevant in the age of Google, sophisticated piracy and the open access movement? The chapter begins with an overview of IP-based and federated access technologies, touching on less-used methods as well. Personally-conducted interviews with library industry experts aim to determine current trends in order to provide a collective insight into future developments. These include the widespread migration towards cloud-based services, the global RA21 initiative, the open access movement, the need for better statistics, and new ways of content delivery, all of which affect libraries' demands for remote access in different ways.

In modern digital cameras, the Bayer color filter array (CFA) has been widely used. It is also widely known as CFA 1.0. However, Bayer pattern is inferior to the red-green-blue-white (RGBW) pattern, which is also known as CFA 2.0, in low lighting conditions in which Poisson noise is present. It is well known that demosaicing algorithms cannot effectively deal with Poisson noise and additional denoising is needed in order to improve the image quality. In this paper, we propose to evaluate various conventional and deep learning based denoising algorithms for CFA 2.0 in low lighting conditions. We will also investigate the impact of the location of denoising, which refers to whether the denoising is done before or after a critical step of demosaicing. Extensive experiments show that some denoising algorithms can indeed improve the image quality in low lighting conditions. We also noticed that the location of denoising plays an important role in the overall demosaicing performance.

The temple of Angkor Wat in Cambodia is one of the most famous monuments in the world and is noted for its spectacular bas-relief friezes depicting ceremonial and religious scenes. Recent work reported here has identified an entirely new series of images consisting of paintings of boats, animals, deities and buildings. Difficult to see with the naked eye, these can be enhanced by digital photography and decorrelation stretch analysis, a technique recently used with great success in rock art studies. The paintings found at Angkor Wat seem to belong to a specific phase of the temple's history in the sixteenth century AD when it was converted from a Vishnavaite Hindu use to Theravada Buddhist.

The standard for digital print quality and its measurement technology is now under consideration, and uniformity evaluation should be an important and essential quality factor. The paper provides a practical quantitative measurement method for traditional visual assessment on uniformity, and proposes a simple and effective IUI index to evaluate the uniformity of digital prints through NPS curve of the printed flat areas and CSF of HVS. The validity of the IUI is demonstrated through its applications in the uniformity assessment of the digital prints.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan industri kreatif dengan menerapkan fotografi digital melalui pengembangan produk instan dengan desain ilustrasi foto pada baju kaos. Pemilihan Obyek wisata Pura Tanah Lot Tabanan dan Pura Taman Ayun Badung Bali, dijadikan obyek penelitian karena obyek wisata tersebut selalu ramai dikunjungi wisatawan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara dan studi pustaka. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil observasi dan wawancara dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode penciptaan seni, sehingga hasil análisis dapat dijadikan pedoman atau konsep dasar dalam pengembangan produk sovenir baju kaos. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan (1) Mengidentifikasi berbagai jenis sovenir baju kaos yang dijual pada kawasan obyek wisata Tanah Lot Tabanan dan Pura Taman Ayun Badung Bali, baik dari bahan, desain ilustrasinya serta teknik pembuatannya. (2) Menganalisis harga, tingkat penjualan, serta bahan, desain ilustrasinya dan teknik pembuatannya.  (3). Melakukan eksperimen desain ilustrasi foto dengan fotografi digital dan pengolahan melalui komputer. (4) Pembuatan ilustrasi foto dan menerapkannya dengan fotografi dan sablon digital pada baju kaos.This research started with observation of several tourism destinations  in Bali such as Tanah Lot in Tabanan and Taman Ayun Badung. The observation is that by taking pictures of tourists and then selling it on photo printed  paper, profit margins are minimized. Furthermore, selling t-shirts as souvenirs on which the design is lacking in representation of the location show restricted and minimized monetization capabilities. Based on these observations, the researcher intends to conduct research while creating an innovative product which is capable of representing the aforementioned locations. Through implementation of digital photography and patternization modalities, designed photos can instantaneously be printed on the t-shirt, and automatically it may be worn by tourists. This technique can prove to have drastic impact upon the profit margins of vendors in comparison to conventional modalities. The aim of the research is to develop creative industry by applying digital photography through the development of instant product through creative design on t-shirts. The option to choose Tanah Lot and Taman Ayun temples because these toruism objects are of the most favorite tourism destinations steadily receive visitation from many tourists from all around the world. This research focuses on (1) The identification of T-shirts as souvenirs sold in Tanah Lot temple in Tabanan and Taman Ayun temple in Badung, based on  fabric, lllustration design and the production techniques. (2) Price analysis, seeling rank, fabric, illustration design and production techniques; (3) To conduct experimental photography llustration design through digital photography and computer-driven image processing; (4) The production of photo llustration and digital patterns on t-shirts. Data collection is taken based on observation, interviews and library research. The data is analyzed using art creation method therefore it can be used as guidance or a basic concept in developing t-shirts as souvenirs

Abstract Background: Coronavirus has spread rapidly around the world. This epidemic has created stress and anxiety for pregnant women in different parts of the world. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between quality of life (QoL) with anxiety, depression, corona disease anxiety, sexual function (SF), and marital satisfaction (MS) in pregnant women during the Covid-19 pandemic.Methods: The present study is a cross-sectional study involving 260 pregnant women. The Short-Form Health Survey (SF_12), Marital Satisfaction Scale (MSS), Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI), Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), and coronary disease anxiety questionnaire, Padua Obsession Questionnaire, General Health Questionnaire (GHQ) are used for data collection. Data were analyzed using the Pearson correlation coefficient and path analysis.Result: The overall goodness-of-fit statistics revealed that the predictors of QOL had perfectly good fitness indices (RMSEA=0.02; AGFI=0.99). The results show that corona related anxiety, marital satisfaction (MS), sexual function (SF), depression, and anxiety have a direct effect on women’s QOL. Among variables, GHQ has a more direct effect on women’s QOL. General health (GH) considered as a mediator variable; variables such as anxiety, depression, and Corona-related Anxiety with effect on GH can impress QOL. Anxiety as a main predictor of QOL, with direct, and indirect effects through GH, depression, SF, and MS can impress QOL. Conclusion: Since the QoL in pregnant women is associated with coronavirus epidemics, these results can be used to plan to improve the health and QoL of these people.
