ABSTRACTLong-term tension creep tests were performed on a Ti-48 at.% Al-2 at.% Cr alloy in order to assess the material behaviour under the intended service conditions for structural parts in turbine engines. Deformation processes and microstructural changes were investigated by TEM on a specimen loaded to 140 MPa for 5988 h at 700 °C. At lamellar boundaries the emission of interfacial dislocations was observed and is thought to contribute significantly to the high primary creep rate of the material. Under the creep conditions gliding dislocations apparently become locked by the heterogeneous formation of precipitates along their cores. Lamellar interfaces revealed ledges which indicates that they migrate during creep.

An instrumental method for monitoring changes in the width of crack opening in the constructions of the National Reserve "Sofia Kievska" is presented. Due to the uneven sediment of the foundations, causing the appearance of stress and effort in the load-bearing building structures, there is a process of cracking. The process of cracking is one of the manifestations of deformation processes that need to be monitored, and therefore to conduct regular instrumental observations. The urgency of instrumental monitoring is assumed to be a careful attitude to the historical and cultural heritage of Ukraine, in particular the National Reserve "Sofia Kievska". The main task of the publication was to consider the method of instrumental observation of the change in the width of the crack opening using the comparator "SDM 50/500". Investigate the dependence and analysis of seasonal fluctuations in ambient temperature and humidity changes in the width of crack opening based on the results of five years of monitoring of cracks in the structures of St. Sofia Cathedral of the National Reserve "Sofia Kievska". The article presents the results of long-term monitoring by a unique method using the comparator "SDM 50/500" width of cracks in the walls of the historical and cultural monument of architecture and history of Ukraine of St. Sofia Cathedral of National Reserve "Sofia Kievska". The presented monitoring results were collected during five years of work. According to the results of observations, a graph of the development of changes in the width of crack opening over time over 5 years is constructed. The direct dependence on air humidity and the inverse dependence on the ambient air temperature are analyzed with the help of the constructed dependence graphs. The results of the study provided an opportunity to develop clear recommendations for further studies to monitor the development of cracks. The main direction of further research will be to improve the method of surveying the change in the width of the crack opening using a portable comparator "SDM 50/500".

This paper presents the analog ecological-mining-geological model of the labile technogenic geological system created at the Shevchenko flooded salt mine area within Artyomovsk rock salt deposit, which is the largest rock salt deposit in Europe. Description of all the system elements taking into account their interconnection and interaction are presented on the basis of the analytical processing and compilation of basic mining and geological data as well as the results of the long-term complex ecological-mining-geological monitoring.The paper describes both the geology of the mine area and the condition assessment of the mine including its shape, parameters, and layout. In addition, scientific interpretation of the mechanism of multi-act intrasystem destructive processes, which have been taking place in the last few decades are provided. Natural and technogenic factors determining the development of the created technogenic geological system (such as man-made karst and critical geomechanical deformations) are summarized and analysed. Predictive evaluation of the time-dependent deformation processes development has been carried out using theexisting methodology for assessing the geomechanical condition of the mined-out area of the salt massive. Correctness of the method for evaluation of stability of the unsupported workings system currently in use for the Artyomovsk rock salt deposit development has been confirmed. This work concerns the scientific problems of maintenance of the geo-ecological safety in the densely populated areas disturbed by underground salt mining. Hereinabove research results add information and analytical base to improve the deformation control system for ductile salt layers in various dynamic conditions of man-caused and natural loads. It is shown that such control is required for the aim of reduction of environmental risks and ensuring the safe operation of salt deposits, salt resources protection as well as infrastructure objects at the Earth’s surface nearby sites of modern salt mining activity.

The presented work studies deformation processes of escalator tunnels support lining constructed by means of soils freezing in difficult engineering and geological conditions. The features of construction technology are considered. The features of the freezing effects during the active, passive stage of freezing and during the natural thawing of soils are considered. The data of the long-term arch support monitoring, as well as the earth’s surface is presented. The non-standard nature of geomechanical processes, in particular the support lifting during the construction of the escalator tunnel is revealed. Methods of mathematical statistics and error theory were used to process and analyze data of field observations at surface and array displacements and deformations. According to survey observations on a few escalator tunnels in Saint-Petersburg underground the correlation form shown is increased in horizontal diameter of the rings and reduce the vertical dependence of the sedimentation casing from subsidence of the earth’s surface. The data also reveals that with increasing development depth, despite the increase in vertical load, the deformation of the lining is reduced, which is associated with physical and mechanical properties of the array.

Ships of different shapes and times are lying in harbours, on land or in museums, all over the world. Our aim with this paper was to review work done on digital documentation of ships in Cultural Heritage based on different initiatives in Europe using Coordinate Measuring Machine (Newport Ship and Doel 1); Total Station Theodolite (Vasa and Mary-Rose) and Laser scanning (LaScanMar and Traditional boats of Ireland). Our results showed that some discrepancy exist between the projects, in terms of techniques and expertise at hand. Furthermore, few guidelines have been in practice but only for Archaeology and Ethnology. However, no standards are existing. Three focuses have emerged: documentation of single ship elements, monitoring of the long-term deformation processes and the documentation of collections of ships. We discussed the diversity of expert’s background and the complexity of comparability between projects.<br><br> In conclusion, guidelines are necessary to enable a common ground for all professions to work together, e.g. in Architecture. This path must be taken now for digital documentation of ships, if not information and knowledge will be lost on the way.
