The traditional method of propulsion of Amphibious vehicles in water has tracked the water, propeller and waterjet propulsion. But the propulsive efficiency is very low, the maximum not more than 30%. Biological methods used to promote, through the million years of evolution, its power utilization of the highest, the best way. Bionic propulsion system designed in this paper consists of two umbrella-shaped wing plate in the large travel agency travel back and forth, driven by a straight line, Carried out along the longitudinal reciprocating motion of vehicles in the water under the influence of backward movement of the wing disk automatically open, resulting in tension on the vehicle forward, Forward movement of the wing disc automatically shut down to reduce the flow resistance. In this way, amphibious vehicles, with the wing disc back and forth movement, has been the role of forward traction, so that forward movement of vehicle. In this paper, the same wing disc, wing disc at different angles, different velocity simulation of the situation. Come forward to promote strength and speed, angle of the curve. To promote the device provides the basis for the physical design and manufacture.

Currently, there is an absence of underwater monitoring device in marine ranching area. the traditional submersible generally use screw propeller as its power equipment, but it lacked the rapid response, short turning radius and so on. Recently some bionic propulsion methods have emerged, which partly solved the problems above but still fail to meet the demanded properties. We used shape memory alloy combined with the design of robot fin to increase the flexibility, add the degree of freedom and higher the efficiency of the biomimetic flexible fish fin propeller.

In nature, fish not only have extraordinary ability of underwater movement but also have high mobility and flexibility. The low energy consumption and high efficiency of fish propulsive method provide a new idea for the research of bionic underwater robot and bionic propulsive technology. In this paper, the swordfish was taken as the research object, and the mechanism of the caudal fin propulsion was preliminarily explored by analyzing the flow field structure generated by the swing of caudal fin. Subsequently, the influence of the phase difference of the heaving and pitching movement, the swing amplitude of caudal fin, and Strouhal number (St number) on the propulsion performance of fish was discussed. The results demonstrated that the fish can obtain a greater propulsion force by optimizing the motion parameters of the caudal fin in a certain range. Lastly, through the mathematical model analysis of the tail of the swordfish, the producing propulsive force principle of the caudal fin and the caudal peduncle was obtained. Hence, the proposed method provided a theoretical basis for the design of a high-efficiency bionic propulsion system.

This paper mainly researched on hydrodynamics performance of a wheel-blade bionic propulsion device designed based on the mechanism of a basilisk lizard treading water, when immerged in water and in different angles. Applied FLUENT software to gain the figures on lift force, propulsion, pressure nephogram and volume fraction distributing of bionic propulsion device when θ is at 100o, 125o and 140o, discussed and analyzed the rules of hydrodynamics when θ was altering, established the groundwork of optimizing the design of the bionic propulsion device further.

The existences of traditional water propulsion promote low efficiency. Used by biological propulsion, after the last million years of evolution, the maximum utilization of its power, the best way. Bionic propulsion system designed in this paper consists of two large travel umbrella wing plate in reciprocating linear travel agencies, led by the reciprocating motion along the vertical, in the water under the influence of backward movement of the wing disk automatically open, resulting in the pull forward, the forward movement of the wing disk automatically shut down to reduce water resistance. This paper designs a bionic propulsion and efficiency measurement tests carried out.
