To describe the data on hadron production at high energies in the midarapidity region and not large transverse momenta [Formula: see text], we modify the simple exponential form of the [Formula: see text]-spectrum. The hadron [Formula: see text]-spectrum is presented in two parts due to the contributions of quarks and gluons, each of them has different energy dependence. The suggested approach alows us to describe rather satisfactorily the inclusive spectra of hadrons produced in [Formula: see text] collisions at energies from the AGS up to LHC.

We analyze the self-similarity approach applied to study the hadron production in pp and AA collisions. This approach allows us to describe rather well the ratio of the proton to antiproton yields in AA collisions as a function of the energy at a wide range from a few GeV to a few TeV. We suggest a modification of this approach to describe rather well the inclusive spectra of hadrons produced in pp collisions at different initial energies from the AGS to LHC.

Recent experimental results on the production of hadrons in collisions of muons, neutrinos and antineutrinos with nucleons and nuclei at high energies are reviewed and discussed in the framework of the quark-parton model. Data are presented on the following topics: Multiplicities, fragmentation functions, transverse momenta and jet properties, azimuthal asymmetry, distribution of quantum numbers, production of strange and charmed particles, test of PCAC and shadowing, single meson production, and Bose-Einstein correlations.

Data on 200 and 400 GeV proton interactions with nuclear emulsion have been analyzed. It is found that the multiplicity distributions of the shower particles in the restricted rapidity intervals are well described by the negative binomial distribution (NBD). The dependences of the NBD parameters on rapidity interval, energy and target size have been studied. The results have also been discussed in terms of Giovannini and Van Hove’s clan model of multiparticle production.

A gradual transition to the reflecting scattering mode developing already at the LHC energies is affecting multiparticle production dynamics, in particular, relation of the centrality with the impact parameter values of pp-collisions. We discuss the issues in the framework of the geometrical picture for the multiparticle production processes proposed by Chou and Yang. We consider effects of reflective scattering mode presence for the inclusive cross-sections.
