The government supports vocational training in order to improve social security for specific population groups, such as the ethnic minority youth. However, there exists information asymmetry among the stakeholders in vocational training, including the ethnic minority youth, local authorities, training institutions, enterprises and state management agencies, leading to adverse selection, moral hazard and principal-agent problem. These problems have negatively impacted the effectiveness of vocational training for ethnic minority youth. Received 19th September 2019; Revised 20th October 2019; Accepted 24th October 2019

İkinci bölümde ise ilçeler nüfus değişim özelliklerine göre belirli kategorilere ayrılmış ve bu kategoriler doğrultusunda ilçe tipolojileri oluşturulmuştur..ABSTRACT IN ENGLISHA District Level Analysis of Istanbul’s Population Change (2012-2017)Istanbul having the largest population of Turkey with its 39 districts is the most internal-migrant-receiving city in Turkey. Particularly in the context of rural-to-urban migration, Istanbul has been became a subject of various researches with its socio-economic and demographic features. However, the density of Istanbul’s settled population who registered other cities of Turkey is important. The main aim of this study is to analyse population growth of all districts considering the population change between 2012 and 2017, to evaluate the related factors and to develop a district typology by using the data of settled population according to their family registration in the name of reading the current countryman networks. In the first section of the study, district populations of Istanbul are examined regarding the related five-year change. Afterwards, most repeated countryman networks of all Istanbul’s districts are specified regarding the population growth rate of the registered cities. In the latter section of the study, districts were divided into categories regarding the specific population change features which help to create district typology.

Abstract Background The need for dialysis after kidney allograft failure (DAGF) is among the top five reasons for dialysis initiation, making this an important topic in clinical nephrology. However, data are scarce on dialysis choice after transplantation and clinical outcomes for DAGF in children. Methods Patients receiving chronic dialysis < 18 years were recorded from January 1991 to January 2019 by the Italian Registry of Pediatric Chronic Dialysis (IRPCD). We investigated factors influencing choice of dialysis modality, patient outcome in terms of mortality, switching dialysis modality, and kidney transplantation. Results Among 118 patients receiving DAGF, 41 (35%) were treated with peritoneal dialysis (PD), and 77 (65%) with haemodialysis (HD). Significant predictors for treatment with PD were younger age at dialysis start (OR 0.85 per year increase [95%CI 0.72–1.00]) and PD use before kidney transplantation (OR 8.20 [95%CI 1.82–37.01]). Patients entering DAGF in more recent eras (OR 0.87 per year increase [95%CI 0.80–0.94]) and with more than one dialysis modality before kidney transplantation (OR 0.56 for being treated with PD [0.12–2.59]) were more likely to be initiated on HD. As compared to patients on HD, those treated with PD exhibited increased but non-significant mortality risk (HR 2.15 [95%CI 0.54–8.6]; p = 0.28) and higher prevalence of dialysis-related complications during DAGF (p = 0.002) Conclusions Patients entering DAGF in more recent years are more likely to be initiated on HD. In this specific population of children, use of PD seems associated with a more complicated course. This paper explores the empirical relationship between fatalism and suicide in a population of youthful victims. Content analysis of case histories and suicide notes was conducted for 132 individuals between the ages of twelve and thirty-four. Almost one-third (N = 43) of the youthful suicide victims were found to have experienced fatalistic thought-ways prior to their death. A model of fatalistic suicide based upon salient interdisciplinary observations consistent with a fatalistic explanation of youthful suicide is presented. Results are discussed relative to a specific population of victims in the light of a theoretical statement promulgating the relationship between a fatalistic social condition and youthful suicide.

Background: The real incidence of Kawasaki disease (KD) in the Maghreb countries (Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia) is unknown. It is estimated low according to the literature. However, the number of Maghrebi children living in Quebec (Qc) affected by KD seems important. We sought to determine the incidence of KD among Maghrebi children in Qc, Canada, and to study its epidemiological and clinical features and to clarify possible risk factors related or superimposed to their immigration. Methods: A retrospective study of KD in Maghrebi children living in Qc (n=24) (1996-2013), compared to reports from Fes, Morocco (n=23) a doctoral thesis published in 2010 (2001-2009) and from Tunisia (n=31) collected in five university hospitals with four from the Great Tunis and one from Nabeul city (1996-2013). There are no reports available from Algeria. The “country of origin” specific population in the Province of Qc was obtained from Statistics Canada. Results: The annualized incidence rate (AIR) of KD among Maghrebi children in Qc was 9.58/100,000 children under 5 years(Standard-Denominator (SD)).This is 6 times higher in Qc (5.57/SD and 19.02/SD among Tunisian and Moroccan descents) vs Tunisia (Nabeul Governorate) and Morocco (Fes) (0.95/SD and 3.15/SD). Personal and family history of allergy were significantly higher in Qc 42% (10/24) and 75% (18/24), respectively, whereas these features were reported near 0% in both reports from Morocco and Tunisia. The prevalence of incomplete KD criteria was relatively high in the 3 series 46% (11/24) in Qc vs 43% (10/23) and 35% (11/31); (p=NS). Diagnosis was late (gt day 10 of fever) in 1/24(4%) in Qc vs 7/23 (30%) in Morocco and 11/31 (35%) in Tunisia; (p 0.01). IVIG were administered in the acute phase to all patients in Qc, 5/23 in Morocco and 28/31 in Tunisia. However coronary complications were more common in Qc 42% (10/24) vs 22% (5/23) vs 19% (6/31) (p=0.02). Aneurysms were significantly associated with the incomplete form in the 3 groups (p=0.01). Conclusions: The observed AIR of KD in the Maghreb community in Qc is higher than the countries of origin where underdiagnosis is possible. Atopy may still be a risk factor in Qc. The coronary artery disease seems linked not only to therapeutic delay but also to the underlying terrain.

The epidemiology of dementia in Canada is not known. However, we report figures on the frequency of dementia in institutions in Ontario based upon the use of a multidimensional observation scale for the assessment of the elderly. These findings on institutionalized patients can be extrapolated to the whole elderly population, but the procedure is clearly too conservative by comparison with findings in other countries and in the light of the known occurrence of numbers of demented patients outside institutions. Ratios in different sutidies for the numbers of patients with dementia outside institutions and within institutions range from 1:1 to 6:1. Using a ratio of 2:1 and applying it to age specific population figures, a prevalence of dementia in Canada of 222,324 for those over 65 is obtained with a rate of 9.4% in that age group. When the figures projected in this way are compared with five epidemiological studies for the rate of dementia elsewhere, the Canadian figure which we have obtained ranks fourth out of six. This estimate provides potential figures on which to base the planning of services, provided that the inferential nature of the estimates is fully recognized.
