The government supports vocational training in order to improve social security for specific population groups, such as the ethnic minority youth. However, there exists information asymmetry among the stakeholders in vocational training, including the ethnic minority youth, local authorities, training institutions, enterprises and state management agencies, leading to adverse selection, moral hazard and principal-agent problem. These problems have negatively impacted the effectiveness of vocational training for ethnic minority youth. Received 19th September 2019; Revised 20th October 2019; Accepted 24th October 2019

İkinci bölümde ise ilçeler nüfus değişim özelliklerine göre belirli kategorilere ayrılmış ve bu kategoriler doğrultusunda ilçe tipolojileri oluşturulmuştur..ABSTRACT IN ENGLISHA District Level Analysis of Istanbul’s Population Change (2012-2017)Istanbul having the largest population of Turkey with its 39 districts is the most internal-migrant-receiving city in Turkey. Particularly in the context of rural-to-urban migration, Istanbul has been became a subject of various researches with its socio-economic and demographic features. However, the density of Istanbul’s settled population who registered other cities of Turkey is important. The main aim of this study is to analyse population growth of all districts considering the population change between 2012 and 2017, to evaluate the related factors and to develop a district typology by using the data of settled population according to their family registration in the name of reading the current countryman networks. In the first section of the study, district populations of Istanbul are examined regarding the related five-year change. Afterwards, most repeated countryman networks of all Istanbul’s districts are specified regarding the population growth rate of the registered cities. In the latter section of the study, districts were divided into categories regarding the specific population change features which help to create district typology.

Abstract Background The need for dialysis after kidney allograft failure (DAGF) is among the top five reasons for dialysis initiation, making this an important topic in clinical nephrology. However, data are scarce on dialysis choice after transplantation and clinical outcomes for DAGF in children. Methods Patients receiving chronic dialysis < 18 years were recorded from January 1991 to January 2019 by the Italian Registry of Pediatric Chronic Dialysis (IRPCD). We investigated factors influencing choice of dialysis modality, patient outcome in terms of mortality, switching dialysis modality, and kidney transplantation. Results Among 118 patients receiving DAGF, 41 (35%) were treated with peritoneal dialysis (PD), and 77 (65%) with haemodialysis (HD). Significant predictors for treatment with PD were younger age at dialysis start (OR 0.85 per year increase [95%CI 0.72–1.00]) and PD use before kidney transplantation (OR 8.20 [95%CI 1.82–37.01]). Patients entering DAGF in more recent eras (OR 0.87 per year increase [95%CI 0.80–0.94]) and with more than one dialysis modality before kidney transplantation (OR 0.56 for being treated with PD [0.12–2.59]) were more likely to be initiated on HD. As compared to patients on HD, those treated with PD exhibited increased but non-significant mortality risk (HR 2.15 [95%CI 0.54–8.6]; p = 0.28) and higher prevalence of dialysis-related complications during DAGF (p = 0.002) Conclusions Patients entering DAGF in more recent years are more likely to be initiated on HD. In this specific population of children, use of PD seems associated with a more complicated course. AbstractHuman primary granulosa cells (GCs) derived from women undergoing oocyte retrieval can be cultured and used as a cellular model for the study of human ovarian function. In vitro, they change rapidly, initially resembling cells of the preovulatory follicle and then cells of the corpus luteum. They are derived from individual patients, whose different medical history, lifestyle and age lead to heterogeneity. Thus, cells can rarely be ideally matched for cellular experiments or, if available, only in small quantities. We reasoned that cryopreservation of human GCs may be helpful to improve this situation. Previous studies indicated the feasibility of such an approach, but low survival of human GCs was reported, and effects on human GC functionality were only partially evaluated. We tested a slow freezing protocol (employing FCS and DMSO) for human GCs upon isolation from follicular fluid. We compared cryopreserved and subsequently thawed cells with fresh, non-cryopreserved cells from the same patients. About 80% of human GCs survived freezing/thawing. No differences were found in cell morphology, survival rate in culture, or transcript levels of mitochondrial (COX4, OPA1, TOMM20), steroidogenic (CYP11A1, CYP19A1) or cell–cell contact genes (GJA1) between the two groups in cells cultured for 1–5 days. A proteomic analysis revealed no statistically significant change in the abundance of a total of 5962 proteins. The two groups produced comparable basal levels of progesterone and responded similarly to hCG with elevation of progesterone. Taken together, our results show this to be a rapid and readily available method for the cryopreservation of human GCs. We anticipate that it will allow future large-scale experiments and may thereby improve cellular studies with human ovarian cells.

AbstractSpreading of aggregate pathology across brain regions acts as a driver of disease progression in Tau-related neurodegeneration, including Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and frontotemporal dementia. Aggregate seeds released from affected cells are internalized by naïve cells and induce the prion-like templating of soluble Tau into neurotoxic aggregates. Here we show in a cellular model system and in neurons that Clusterin, an abundant extracellular chaperone, strongly enhances Tau aggregate seeding. Upon interaction with Tau aggregates, Clusterin stabilizes highly potent, soluble seed species. Tau/Clusterin complexes enter recipient cells via endocytosis and compromise the endolysosomal compartment, allowing transfer to the cytosol where they propagate aggregation of endogenous Tau. Thus, upregulation of Clusterin, as observed in AD patients, may enhance Tau seeding and possibly accelerate the spreading of Tau pathology.
