We applied two different approaches to investigate the deformation structures of the two nuclei S32 and Ar36 . In the first approach, we considered these nuclei as being deformed and have axes of symmetry. Accordingly, we calculated their moments of inertia by using the concept of the single-particle Schrödinger fluid as functions of the deformation parameter β. In this case we calculated also the electric quadrupole moments of the two nuclei by applying Nilsson model as functions of β. In the second approach, we used a strongly deformed nonaxial single-particle potential, depending on Î² and the nonaxiality parameter γ , to obtain the single-particle energies and wave functions. Accordingly, we calculated the quadrupole moments of S32 and Ar36 by filling the single-particle states corresponding to the ground- and the first excited states of these nuclei. The moments of inertia of S32 and Ar36 are then calculated by applying the nuclear superfluidity model. The obtained results are in good agreement with the corresponding experimental data.

In 2020, the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War was celebrated. Many soldiers and did not survive to see the end of the war. It is important that people living now remember and honor those who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of our country and those who came from the war in difficult conditions to restore the national economy of the country. In memory of those who courageously defended the independence of our great country, we named a new apple cultivar ‘Den Pobedy’ (Victory Day), which took 33 years to create. In 2020, this cultivar was included in the State Register of breeding achievements and it is recommended for cultivation in the Central-Chernozem region including Belgorod, Voronezh, Kursk, Lipetzk, Orel and Tambov regions. This cultivar was developed by crossing are quite commonly known winter cultivar ‘Veteran’ and foreign cultivar ‘Horcout’. Trees have a drooping crown. The main branches are curves. A characteristic feature of this cultivar is that the branches from the trunk depart at an angle close to straight. The main number of fruits is located on short fruit formations. Fruits are of medium weight (140 g), conical, wide-ribbed. The main color of the fruit at the time of harvest is greenish. The cover color occupies most of the surface of the fruit in the form of red blush. The fruit flesh is white, greenish of average density. The appearance (attractiveness) of the fruit is estimated at 4.4 points, and the taste - at 4.3 points (5-point rating). Fruits contain 14.7 % of sugars and 9.2 mg/100 g of ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Harvest in Orel region is in mid-September, the consumer period of fruits is until mid-March. The cultivar regularly bears fruit and has high product and consumer qualities.

Abstract A 2 yr study on the Rogue River and Mt. Hood National Forests in Oregon evaluated physical barriers for protection of Pinus ponderosa seedlings against damage by Thomomys talpoides. Seedlings protected with one of three weights of: (1) plastic mesh tubing (Vexar®) or (2) sandpapertubing (Durite®) were evaluated against control seedlings. On the Rogue River sites, Vexar® seedlings had the highest survival (62.6%), followed by the controls (59.1%), then Durite® seedlings (17.9%). Gophers were the primary cause of death for the Vexar® seedlings, versus desiccation for the Durite® seedlings. On the Mt. Hood sites, heavyweight Vexar® seedlings had the highest survival (35.4%), medium-weight Durite® seedlings the lowest (2.7%). Seedling mortality caused by gophers was highest for controls (70.2%), followed by light-weight (62.2%) and heavy-weight (53.9%) Vexar® treatments. Overall survival was low (Rogue River = 42%, Mt. Hood = 19.8%). Growth was greatest for the control seedlings but only significantly greater than growth of Durite® seedlings on the Rogue River sites. Growth of seedlings was not compromised by the Vexar® tubing. Although neither type of tubing was highly protective, Vexar® tubes performed better than Durite® tubes. West. J. Appl. Abstract The rotational Zeeman effect has been observed in methanimine which was produced from ethylenediamine by flash pyrolysis. The observed vibronic ground state expectation values of the molecular g-values, the magnetic susceptibility anisotropies and the molecular electric quadrupole moments are: gaa = -1.27099(22), gbb= -0.18975(7), gcc= -0.03440(8), 2ξaa-ξbb-ξcc = 12.49(19) · 10-6 ergG-2mol-1, 2ξbb-ξcc-ξaa = 5.22(11) · 10-6 ergG-2 mol-1 Qaa = 0.43(17) · 10-26esu cm2, Qbb= 1.08(10) · 10-26 esu cm2, and Qcc= -1.51 (26) . 10-26 esu cm2. With the TZVP ab initio value for the out-off plane electronic second moment as additional input, reliable values can be given also for the individual components of the magnetic susceptibility tensor and for the bulk susceptibility:ξ = (ξaa + ξbb + ξcc)/3=-13.13(88) · 10-6 erg G -2 mol-1. From low-J a-and b-type zero field transitions the spin-rotation coupling constants and the 14N nuclear quadrupole coupling constants could be redetermined with improved accuracy. These data are compared with our new theoretical results.
