The 2005 IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Informatics (ICCI’05) was held during August 8th to 10th 2005 on the campus of University of California, Irvine. This was the fourth conference of ICCI [Kinsner et al. 05]. The previous conferences were held at Calgary, Canada (ICCI’02) [Wang et al. 02], London, UK (ICCI’03) [Patel et al. 03], and Victoria, Canada (ICCI’04) [Chan et al. 04], respectively. ICCI’05 was organized by General Co-Chairs of Jeffrey Tsai (University of Illinois) and Yingxu Wang (University of Calgary), Program Co-Chairs of Du Zhang (California State University) and Witold Kinsner (University of Manitoba), and Organization Co- Chairs of Philip Sheu (University of California), Taehyung Wang (California State University, Northridge), and Shangping Ren (Illinois Institute of Technology).

2021 The 7th International Conference on Digital Manufacturing and Automation (ICDMA 2021) was held from May 10-12, 2021 with workshop of 2021 6th International Conference on Mechanical and Electronics Engineering. Our attendees safty would be the highest priority, some participants are now facing travel restrictions and may have to cancel their schedule because of COVID-19. According to this situation, the conference is available to use all social media methods, such as online/video presentation, etc, except the regular presentation types (oral & poster). The conference is co-sponsored by National Tsing-Hua University, Taiwan and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia, Science and Engineering Institute. It aims to bring together researchers, developers, and users in both industry and academia in the world for sharing state-of-art results, for exploring new areas of research and development, and to discuss emerging issues on digital manufacturing and automation. As is well known to us all, digital manufacturing and automation technology plays a more and more important role in industry advancing now, The conference is aimed at reporting up-to-the-minute innovations and developments, brought together leading researchers, engineers and scientists in the domain of interest from around the world. For conference online, three keynote speakers were invited to give the keynote speeches on May 11, 2021. This proceeding including 12 papers in two chapters of material design and optimization and industrial automation and manufacturing, the authors are from varies countries, hope those papers can help you to gain something and promote the development of Digital Manufacturing and Automation and Mechanical and Electronics Engineering. The conference received 23 submissions, and every paper was reviewed by in two rounds For the success helding of ICDMA 2021, we would like to express our appreciation to all the reviewer's review works and their support, all the conference website editor and committee members' hard works. Before the successful convening of the 7th International Conference of the Independent Learning Association (ILA) 2016 at HUST, Associate Professor Du in our School of Foreign Languages of HUST interviewed Kerstin Dofs and Moira Hobbs on November the 4th in the Figaro cafeteria on campus to gain further insight into independent learning. Both Kerstin and Moira come from New Zealand, where Kerstin is currently the Manager of the Language Self Access Centre (LSAC) at Ara Institute of Canterbury in Christchurch and Moira is the Manager of the Language (Self-Access) Learning Centre at Unitec Institute of Technology in Auckland. They are co-convenors assisting Jianying with arrangements for the ILA Conference at HUST.

This document presents the proceedings of the VRIC - ConVRgence conference held on July 7-9, 2021. The conference was organized again this year in a particular context, that of the COVID-19 health crisis, and the usual dates were shifted from March to July to allow for a hybrid format both in-situ in Laval, and in the Laval Virtual World. We hope that next year will be back to normal, both in terms of organization and volume of submissions.
