Hieracium zajacii Szeląg is described from the Vel'ká Fatra Mts in Slovakia. It is the first representative of H. lycopifolium agg. to be found in the Carpathians. The new species is tetraploid (2n = 36) and reproduces apomictically. Its origin is briefly discussed.

Taranucnus Simon, 1884 is a small Holarctic genus of the spider family Linyphiidae that contains only five species (WSC, 2018). In Europe and in Ukraine it is represented by three taxa: T. setosus (O. P.-Cambridge, 1863), T. bihari Fage, 1931 and T. carpaticus Gnelitsa, 2016 (WSC, 2018). The type species of the genus is T. setosus, widely distributed in the Palaearctic, T. bihari is known from a few localities from the Carpathians within Poland, Slovakia, and Romania (Nentwig et al. 2017). Recently, T. carpaticus was recorded from the two mountain massifs (Gorgany and Chornohora) of the Ukrainian Carpathians (Gnelitsa 2016). In this paper a fourth European species, Taranucnus beskidicus new species, is described.

A new species of Elachistocleis is described from the municipality of Xapuri, state of Acre, northern Brazil. It distinguish-es from other species by the presence of an immaculate ventral coloration, SVL larger than 31 mm, and width head morethan 6.9 mm in adult males. Multivariate analysis based on external morphology also distinguishes the new species from the most morphologically similar species. The advertisement call is described and tadpoles remain unknown.

AbstractA new member of the Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group is described from the Rio Mayo drainage in the upper Amazon Basin, Departamento San Martin, Perú. This species possesses a unique pattern of yellow spots in the groin and a pair of glandular dorsolateral ridges. It resembles five other upper Amazonian congeners (E. carvalhoi, E. croceoinguinis, E. imitatrix, E. toftae, E. variabilis) that also have yellow or orange flash colors in the groin region. These frogs can be distinguished by a combination of features, including condition of tympanum and vocal apparatus, presence of digital lateral fringes, and details of groin color and pattern. A multivariate analysis of three basic measurements resulted in clear differentiation of the new species, with the morphometric relationship of the other five remaining unresolved.

A new species, Limonium tobarrense (Plumbaginaceae), is described from the inland saltmarsh of Cordovilla (Tobarra) in Albacete province, southeastern Iberian Peninsula. This new species is morphologically close to the taxa belonging to the Limonium girardianum group, but there are remarkable differences suggesting separation at species rank. Comparisons are provided with L. dufourii, L. girardianum and L. grosii using multivariate analysis. The principal component analysis (PCA) shows four separated groups, each corresponding to the four species considered. Ecological, phytosociological, bioclimatic, biogeographic and reproductive features of the new species are also discussed, as well as its conservation status. A diagnostic key is provided to facilitate identification of L. tobarrense and its closer allies.

A new species of the TipulasubgenusMediotipula is described from the south-eastern part of Albania, south-eastern Europe. Morphologically, the new species is most similar to T. (M.) stigmatella Schummel, 1833, but differs mainly with respect to males, having a distinctly shaped posterior margin of tergite 9–10, a widened outer gonostylus and a series of details of the inner gonostylus (anterior end of the anterior arm, shape of the posterior arm), as well as having more bulbous and rounded hypogynal valves in the females. Further morphological differences of the male terminalia between allopatric populations of T. (M.) stigmatella in the Carpathians and Balkans, south-eastern Europe, are discussed.

A new species in the Cribrarula cribraria complex (Cypraeidae) is described from New South Wales, Australia, on the basis of a multivariate analysis of shell characters, the radula and odontophore cartilage. Cribrarula gravida sp. nov., can be easily separated from its congeners by its large, inflated shell, with rostrate extremities, large elliptical off-white dorsal spots against a light brown dorsal coat, and columellar teeth thicker than in shells of most species of Cribrarula. This is the twelfth known species in Cribrarula, and the third from Australian waters.
