Abstract: Introduction: Skin diseases of professional etiology remain to this day an urgent problem, despite the low levels of morbidity according to official statistics, due to the high medical and social significance of this pathology. For early diagnosis of occupational and occupational-related skin pathology, it is necessary to investigate laboratory markers that correlate with this pathology. In this regard, a promising direction is to study the activity indicators of hydrolytic enzymes of neutrophils: alkaline and acid phosphatases, the level of myeloperoxidase. Objective: to study and evaluate the effectiveness of cytochemical methods for diagnosing the reactivity of the body in workers exposed to a chemical factor in the workplace. Research methods: hygienic assessment of working conditions of woodworking workers, assessment of the health status and cytochemical parameters of workers. Analysis of the obtained data by methods of mathematical statistics. Results: A hygienic assessment of working conditions and an inspection, with a complex of cytochemical studies, of 148 employees of the chipboard manufacturing enterprise were carried out. The leading factor affecting the body of workers is chemical. A direct strong correlation (r=0.7) was established between the level of dermatological morbidity and the indicators of air pollution of the working area with formaldehyde. Skin pathology was detected in 32.4% of the examined workers. At the same time, the indicators of cytochemical activity in the examined group correlated with the degree of severity of the skin process. Conclusions: Cytochemical indicators in combination with other clinical and diagnostic studies allow us to assess the risk of developing professional and professionally caused skin pathology, which allows us to use them for early diagnosis, and thus contribute to the preservation of labor potential and social adaptation of workers exposed to occupational hazards.

Cytochemical examination of alveolar macrophages (AM) obtained by bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) was performed in healthy volunteers (11 non-smokers and 11 smokers) and in 9 patients with squamous lung carcinoma (all of them smokers or ex-smokers) in order to analyze its peculiarities related to the smoking habit and to lung malignancy. Assessment of non-specific esterases: α-naphthyl acetate esterase (ANAE) and butyrate esterase (BUT), chloroacetate esterase (CHL), acid phosphatase (AcP), intracellular glycogen (PAS reaction), lipids (Sudan black B reaction - SBB) and iron (Perl's reaction) was performed by a semiquantitative cytochemical method (1). A significant correlation was obtained between BUT and stage of squamous lung carcinoma (varying between I and IV) (r=0.52, p<0.05). There was a correlation between BUT and Perl's in healthy controls (r=0.76, p<0.05). The same type of correlation was observed in control smokers (r=0.64, p<0.05), in addition to a correlation between CHL and AcP (r=0.69, p<0.05). There was no significant BUTIPerl's correlation in patients with squamous cell lung carcinoma (r=0.23, p>0.05), but significant AcP/CHL correlation as was observed in control smokers (r=0.73, p<0.05), and a “new” type of correlation was shown to exist between ANAE and SBB (r=0.77, p<0.05). In spite of the unresolved nature of lung cancer, correlation analysis of cytochemical parameters in AM might have an important part in the analysis of their relative contribution to the development of smoking-related disorders and lung malignancies.

The accompanying therapy prescribed during the use of toxic drugs helps patients to complete the treatment to the end, and the doctor adheres to the treatment of the chosen line The aim of the study was to study the effect of levocarnitine on blood biochemical parameters and on chemotherapy tolerance. Materials and methods. The study was conducted in the stem cell treatment department at Republican Specialized Scientific Practical Medical Center of Hematology . Chemotherapy toxicity was assessed according to WHO and NCIC standards. Results. In a comparative study, 30 patients receiving chemotherapy for myeloma with varying degrees of toxicity when fortecarnite (100 mg / kg / day) was added to standard therapy for 2 months or more showed a significant positive change in cytochemical parameters (Alanin transferase (ALT), aspartat transferase (AST)), which allowed the authors recommend metabolic correction to all patients receiving chemotherapy, especially with 2nd and 3rd degree of toxicity.

Introduction. Using cytochemical methods, the activity of myeloperoxidase (MPO), as well as the content of cationic proteins, glycogen and lipids in the blood neutrophils of pregnant women with diffuse toxic goiter (DTG) was studied in a comparative aspect.Goal. To study the dynamics of changes in the cytochemical parameters of neutrophils in women's blood during physiological pregnancy, as well as in pregnant patients with DTG.Material and methods. The study included 82 pregnant women aged 20-40 years old with Hashimoto's thyroiditis and graves' disease. The subject of the study was the determination of immunological indicators: the level of autoantibodies to TSH, TPO and TG; the content of populations and subpopulations of lymphocytes, and cytochemical indicators of blood: MPO activity; cationic protein content; glycogen content; lipid content. Results. The activity of MPO in the blood neutrophils of women with a physiological course of pregnancy (comparison group) is similar to that in the control group. In the first trimester of pregnancy, the percentage of neutrophils with a moderate to high content of colored granules tends to decrease, which is reflected in the value of the average cytochemical index.Conclusion. It should be noted that significant shifts in the content of components of the phagocytic defense system were found in the blood neutrophils of pregnant women with thyrotoxicosis syndrome.
