Temperature and concentration behaviour of the dynamic structure factor of poly(styrene) was measured in a marginal solvent (dibutyl phthalate) by quasielastic light scattering. Both the concentration and temperature dependences of the hydrodynamic radius of the polymer coil and of the hydrodynamic blob size were found to follow the scaling laws predicted by theory. A relation m + b = -1 between exponents m and b for the concentration and temperature dependence of the blob size in semidilute solutions has been derived, and its validity was checked experimentally.

AbstractThe descriptive scattering parameters, haze and angular distribution functions of textured ZnO:Al transparent conductive oxides with different surface roughness are measured. An approach to determine the scattering parameters of all internal interfaces in p-i-n a-Si:H solar cells deposited on the glass/ZnO:Al substrates is presented. Using the determined scattering parameters as the input parameters of the optical model, a good agreement between the measured and simulated quantum efficiencies of the p-i-n a-Si:H solar cells with different interface roughness is achieved.

Properties near the nematic-smectic-A-smectic-C multicritical point present in binary liquid-crystal mixtures are reviewed. Recent dynamic Fréedericksz deformation and quasielastic light-scattering results are described and their relationship with data from X-ray scattering and static light scattering is discussed.
