Objective To observe the national elite male rowers blood, red blood cell activity and serum copper, zinc, calcium, magnesium and iron content of the five elements, and compared with the ordinary people. Aimed to investigate the between athletes, athletes and ordinary differences between the two sets of indicators and to explore the impact of element contents in red blood cell activity and five factors. Trying to bring two sets of indicators and specific combining ability, used in training on the monitoring function, and for the future to provide some references for further study. Methods It was included 22 athletes and 22 ordinary men, as the research object, in the collection of blood, measuring red blood cell activity in the blood content of the five elements, simultaneous measurement of physical indicators , will be doing all the data at the differences between the two groups compared to the group to do correlation analysis. The recent record of 2000m, 6000m rowing Dynamometer test results, and red blood cell activity associated with the five elements of content analysis. Results 1. Athletes indicators related to aerobic exercise were significantly higher than ordinary people. The white blood cells of athletes group were average.It shows that athletes have high aerobic capacity, while white blood cells are more stable than normal people. The members of the national rowing men's iron, magnesium content was significantly higher than ordinary group, the iron content is higher than the normal reference value; blood calcium levels were significantly lower than ordinary people, and lower than the normal reference value. The total number of red blood cells and the number of living cells was very significant positive correlation in two groups subjects; Red blood cell activity and red blood cell diameter is proportional, and red blood cell roundness in inverse proportion to the relationship; from this experiment a special ability to see red blood cell activity and there is no correlation. In both groups, hemoglobin was positively correlated with iron content, while iron was positively correlated with copper content. Conclusions 1. Increasing the number and volume of red blood cells can effectively increase the activity of red blood cells; red blood cell activity has no correlation with specific ability, and can not be used as an indicator to determine specific ability. The content of iron and magnesium in rowers is higher than that in ordinary people, which indicates that the adjustment of aerobic capacity and nerve control is very effective. The lower calcium content indicates that the injury caused by calcium loss should be prevented and the urgency of calcium supplementation should be emphasized. In training, we should pay attention to increasing hemoglobin content and aerobic capacity by supplementing iron. We can further consider the effect of supplementing copper to promote iron supplementation.

Hematological Changes

This study was conducted to know thehematological changes of anemia in horsesat equestrian club in Baghdad. Blood samples were collected from 151 horses of both sexes(74 male and 77 female) and different agesrandomly. The study includedred blood cells count, white blood cells, hemoglobin, packed cell volume and differential blood smears, togetherwith erythrocyte sedimentation rate readings. The study showed increased white blood cells count mainly neutrophilwith decreased hemoglobinand red blood cell countin addition to erythrocyte sedimentation rate.The blood smears showeddifferent changes of red blood cell.

SummaryA strong correlation was obtained between white blood cell (WBC) lithium concentrations and the severity of observed side effects in a group of 40 patients receiving prophylactic lithium therapy. However, there was no significant correlation between these levels and the specific side effect of hand tremor, although WBC concentrations were higher in patients with greater tremor. These results contrasted with those for plasma and red blood cell (RBC) lithium concentrations, which showed no relationship to side effects. This suggests that WBC lithium concentrations may be a more sensitive index of side effects than conventional plasma estimations.

The herbaceous plant Nelsonia canescens is a medicinal plant used in Asian and African traditional medicine for various diseases of humans and animals. The plant has been used for the treatment of pains and inflammatory action related diseases, cancer, gout, cough, fever, cardiovascular diseases, chicken pox and even malaria. Decoction of it has also been used as immune booster in patients by the traditionalists. This study was aimed at evaluating the effects of the aqueous leaf extract of the plant on the osmotic fragility of rats’ red blood cells, and also to determine the changes that occur in haematology and serum chemistry of the rats exposed orally to the extract for 28 days. Three groups of rats were administered orally with 200, 400, and 800mg/kg of the plant extract respectively while the fourth group which is the control was administered also orally with distilled water and their blood were then analyzed. The 2, 4 and 6mg/ml concentrations of the extract inhibit hypotonic solution induced rats erythrocytes hemolysis in concentration dependent manner and the inhibition is comparable to that of Indomethacin. The blood analysis showed a significant increase (p<0.05) in total white blood cells and the lymphocytes for the groups administered with 400 and 800 mg/kg of the extract while the neutrophils decreased significantly. It was then concluded that the aqueous extract of the plant inhibits red blood cell hemolysis and hence its anti-inflammatory activities. Also, the significant increase in the total white blood cells and the lymphocytes could be the reason why the plant is useful as immune booster by the traditionalists.

In present study an attempt has been made to investigate the combined impact of sub lethal toxicity of Cypermethrin 25% EC and pH on certain blood parameters of Puntius javanicus. Adult fish were exposed to sublethal concentration (0.36 µg/L) of cypermethrin 25% EC in different pH water i.e. pH 5, pH 6, pH 7, pH 8.5 and pH 9.5 for 15 days. Significant changes in red blood cell (RBCs) count, total white blood cells (WBCs), haemoglobin % (Hb%), haematocrit value, total serum protein and blood glucose level were observed in fish exposed to sub-lethal concentration of cypermethrin. Significant decrease in red blood cell (RBCs) count, haemoglobin % (Hb %), haematocrit value and total serum protein content were found in fish exposed to sub-lethal concentration of cypermethrin in pH 5, pH 6 and pH 9.5, compared to fish exposed to sub-lethal concentration of cypermethrin in pH 7. A significant increase in these parameters were documented in fish exposed to sub-lethal concentration of cypermethrin in pH 8.5, compared to fish exposed to sub-lethal concentration of cypermethrin in pH 7. On the other hand a significant increase of total white blood cells (WBCs) and blood glucose level were recorded in fish subjected to sub-lethal concentration of cypermethrin in pH 5, pH 6 and pH 9.5, compared to fish exposed to sub-lethal concentration of cypermethrin in pH 7. Values of these parameters were decreased significantly in fish exposed to sub-lethal concentration of cypermethrin in pH 8.5, compared to fish exposed to sub-lethal concentration of cypermethrin in pH 7. The values of all studied blood parameters in fish subjected to sub-lethal concentration of cypermethrin in pH 8.5 were almost found to retain the values of control group (pH 7, without toxicant).

За динамікою морфологічних досліджень крові представлені результати ефективності внутріш-ньоорбітальних вливань 1,0 % розчину «Трифузолу» в дозі 5 мл на одну тварину. Встановлено, що після одноразового введення препарату в післяопераційний період на сьому добу реєструється зменшення кіль-кості лейкоцитів, що поєднується зі зростанням у лейкограмі ґранулоцитів. Зміни в складі клітин чер-воної крові, характеризуються зниженням кількості еритроцитів на 9,4 %, а також на 12,1 % такого показника, як розподілення розміру еритроцитів. According to the dynamics of morphological studies, the findings of the effectiveness of blood internal orbital injections of 1.0% solution “Tryfuzol” in a dose of 5 ml per animal were presented. It was found that after a single injection of the drug in the postoperative period, on the seventh day the reduction of the number of white blood cells is recorded, that is combined with the growth of granulocytes in leucogram. Changes in red blood cells are characterized by the decrease of red blood cell by 9.4% and 12.1% of the index of the size distribution of red blood cells.
