Abstract In this paper a super wide band 2-element MIMO antenna with dual band-notched characteristics and high isolation is presented for use in broadband polarization diversity communication systems. Total dimensions of the fabricated antenna is 34 × 60 mm2 and achieves a super wide impedance matching of more than 15 GHz from 2.3 to 18 GHz due to the simulated and measured results which covers L, S, C, X, Ku bands and some parts of K band with two notched frequency bands around 3.1 – 3.7 GHz for WiMAX and 5.1 – 5.8 GHz for WLAN which realized by etching two half-wavelength elliptic single complementary split-ring resonators (ESCSRRs) of different dimensions on the radiating patches. This antenna comprises two identical elements which placed orthogonally to each other and fed by two 50Ω coplanar waveguide (CPW) lines, therefore an isolation of more than 20 dB is obtained autonomously without utilizing any other special technique. Diversity performance in terms of envelop correlation coefficient (ECC< 0.0035), multiplexing efficiency (ηmux > -1 dB) and diversity gain (DG > 9.99 dB) are also calculated, showing satisfactory MIMO characteristics.

In this paper, a 15* 80 sized antenna is designed over a paper substrate to test its flexible properties. The proposed antenna feed by a grounded coplanar waveguide(GCPW) is stimulated and the measured results show the operating Dual Band of the antenna cover(3.34-3.62 GHz) and (5.92-6.24 GHz) with the reflection coefficient |S11|< -15dB.These frequency bands operate over SHF bands and hence supports Fixed Mobile Communication and WLAN applications.

This paper presents a single layer planar slot antenna for dual band operation. The antenna is fed by a coplanar waveguide (CPW) with two inverted C-shaped resonators to achieve the dual band operation. The impedance bandwidth for ǀS11ǀ < -10dB is 14% in lower band and 7% in higher band. The antenna prototype’s electromagnetic performance, impedance bandwidth, radiation pattern, and antenna gain were measured. The proposed configuration offers a relatively compact, easy to fabricate and dual band performance providing gain between 2 and 4 dBi. The designed antenna has good dual bandwidth covering 3.5 WiMAX and 5.8 WLAN tasks. Experimental and numerical results also showed good agreement after comparison.

This paper presents an ultra-wideband tapered slot patch antenna with bi-directional radiation, reconfigurable for dual band-notched capability and fed by coplanar waveguide. The proposed antenna showed excellent ultra-wideband characteristics with bandwidth of (1.9–12 GHz). In order to reduce the interference of the narrow band communications represented by Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access radiation in the range (3.4–3.9) GHz and standard IEEE 802.11a. application (from 5.1 GHz to 6.1 GHz), the antenna was accompanied with adjustable dual-stop band capability in these bands. The dual-band notches are achieved with aid of inserting a parasitic single split ring resonator and etching a single circular complementary circle split ring resonator. The proposed antenna used epoxy (FR4) substrate material with ????r= 4.4 and dimensions of .

AbstractA compact coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed circular polarization (CP)-antenna for new generation applications with dual bands filtering performance along with CP feature based on unit-cell semi-fractal is proposed in this paper. The CP-antenna privileges from semi-fractal radiator causes to have a miniaturized size. The stopped bands are designed to suppress the interference with present WLAN and ITU-R satellite systems. These properties are obtained by embedding semi-fractal unit-cell patterns stubs at the radiator and applying two rectangular-shaped slits inside CPW ground plane and a pair of grounded L-shaped strips. By introducing the first step of semi-fractal strips, and the mirrored defected ground surface structures, dual-band rejection functionality at WLAN (5–6 GHz) and ITU-R (7.725–8.5 GHz) are practically obtained. Besides that, semi-fractal strips results to two orthogonal modes stimulation on the radiator and CP attribute are obtained at WiMAX (3.1–3.7 GHz). CP-antenna presents omni-directional radiation H-plane patterns over the applicational frequency band. The CP-antennas size is 25 mm × 25 mm and fabricated on commercially available FR4-epoxy substrate with 1 mm thickness. Measured results illustrate that the proposed ultimate CP-antenna with miniaturized structure, efficient impedance tuning characteristics, and adequate radiation performances is the best choice for new generation of wireless communications.
